Yep, it was safe alright. Nothing was changed and I think it goes same as to other blockchain wallets. Never doubted it for a while. I did not cashout any of my savings and I am glad I didn't.

Pretty sure that Blockchain wallet will be safe during possible hard fork, although there seems to be less and less of a chance of that happening as the days pass by. Bitcoin will pretty much just stay the same and all the hype led to nothing.

Don't know why a lot of people don't like Blockchain wallet, but it seems fine to me. If you do have a pc/desktop wallet I would recommend splitting up your funds between your online wallet, desktop wallet and maybe even a mobile wallet.

Just get your private keys and you won't have to worry no matter what happens.

I was quite surprised because blockchain did not issue important statements before forking decisions, but I still believe that although blockchains do not give users a personal key, they have the best reputation so far. It would be nice if we remain vigilant and divide bitcoin into cold/hard wallet. No one knows what will happen tomorrow.

Well i have checked out most of my bitcoin savings, but i have left some small amount. So far i have not found anything that suggest what blockchain is going to do. So far i did not have any kind of problem with them,  i think they are reiable. But if you want to be extra safe, download wallet to your computer.

If you have the private key(s) to the addresses holding funds in your blockchain.info wallet then you are safe. I'm not sure if the new version of bc.i wallet allows you to see your private keys though, I know that it used to but not sure about now.

I understood the advice of having btc with electrum before the fork and transferring to another electrum after fork, waiting for a certain number of confirmations, getting a bcc compatilble wallet and using your private keys from the first wallet to do bcc transactions. Yet some people are saying it's risky to do btc transfers after fork? I don't see the risk besides waiting for more confirmations than usual.

I thought if Blockchain.info site was permanently removed, some people could still access those BTC. If some people can still access those BTC, why is Blockchain.info not feasible for the initial wallet?

I wouldn't use blockchain wallet, instead would use something like bitcoin core or electrum which is safer

My wallet provider here in my locality guaranteed us that our bitcoin is safe during that date and they just halt or stop all transactions starting august 1 and until further notice.

I think it will be well but for sure you can move your coin on bitcoin core or any private key supported wallet.other way to exchange coin and after fork you come back on your coin.

Your balance would still be there during and after the fork. However, just to be safe it's better to import your private keys into another wallet which you have full control with. Blockchain.info is notorious to have too many bugs. Might wanna save yourself from days of depression when the fork happens.

Really?

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of bugs does their wallet have?

I have some Bitcoin on there, but you scared me now. Has it ever been hacked?

No, but they are defenately a target.

The safest thing to do is move your funds to an cold wallet / offline wallet that is open source and gives you the private keys. Exodus and Electrum are good wallets.

I have heard that Bockchain wallet is going to be the only place for safe storage of bitcoins during the fork. But I heard it from my friend who is also in the community, so, as you can suppose I have no proves.
not really safe, I have seen many announcements and it was better to save the paper wallet, in essence, you have full access by having a private key. but for now, I think save in exchange such as bittrex is also safe since bittrex has announced who save bitcoin will get bitcoin cash.

not only bitrex. there are lots of market exchange said that. make me confused which one is best. but still store bitcoin in market for earn bcc is just 2nd option.

I think blockchain will have guaranteed security. Because every wallet that has a private key will certainly get the security of the funds saved. If you really want to be safe then the offline wallet is the answer.

Bitcoin may split after the fork. So its better to transfer all your bitcoins to a exchange where they can provide BCC. Perhaps you will get the equal share of BCC you have in BTC. Blockchain.info might not be safe during the fork so its better you move your coins on a hardware wallet or paper wallet.
If you intend to get a free BCC, then do so.
But don't forget that we might lose all of our bitcoin in the process.

For op, as long as you hold your private keys, in the safest place, and you're n full control over it,
then there's nothing to worry about.

"Bitcoin may split?" Fork is like another term for split as the word fork suggests. As sir Theymos posted here in the forum, we must really take care of our bitcoins because it may dissapear when we still transact in the day of the fork.
So, to be more safe, you must told that days before because the fork now is closing and your transaction or coins might be on risk.

Blockchain.info finally made an announcement. Looks like if you want to keep both coins, you better move funds off that wallet:
