I don't see this happen. If you check the charts you see the moment it reach 500 lasted only for minutes.
Then al of a sudden it went down hlll very fast.

Alas, the market had decided the 500 barrier was to eary.

You could have said the same about $300 throughout much of 2015! Price hit 300, and fell back shortly after in January, March and July. Then, of course, November happened - and now we're discussing 500 instead of 300.

However, you could be right, and it could be too early - I simply don't know. But ruling out 500 on the basis of the previous attempt to breach it, well, that seems too simplistic.

No it won't be permanently at 500 dollars maybe it will reach.
With bitcoins is always a rollercoaster so we will see what well happen.

Are we permanently above $400 or at least above $300?

No. I don't think it will stay at $500 for long if it does reach $500 this month. But next year, I can definitely see this happening.
It just seems to soon. Only last week bitcoin was having a hard time to stay above $400.

If you move the year by 1 and say that "Is BTC going permanently over 500$ in december 2016?" I would agree.

Nobody will know for sure where bitcoin is going. I think that when and if it hits $500 before the year ends, it will go back down to the value it is right now so around $400.
I don't think we'll see a stable $500 yet. I see the possibilities in 2016 though.

I wish I had a time machine to tell you if that happens.
But we are almost there, we are coming 500 dollars. I think we will reach it and go around 480 dollars.
For now I am just happy that bitcoin is around 439 dollars is really good for now.

BTC price road to $80k
For me i think no after reaching $500 above and after end of the year the price will falling back down.
There is no permanent fluctuate price so its better to keep watching the price pump and dump and ready your bitcoins for tradings...

No. There is no such a thing as a permanent price in Bitcoin. I am happy with whatever price is comming towards us the comming months. If we fall back to around $300, then it's fine. If we go up to around $500, then it's fine too. We'll find out what will happen.

We should be easily at 500$ by the beginning of January. Nothing is always the same but the price held three major pump/dumps recently so maybe is time to establish the price above 500$, this time for good.

I am fairly sure the price will go to $500 during December and yes, I also believe that it might very well be the last chance to buy your coins for under that.. Anyway, whatever happens I am holding and buying more. I am happy if the price raises as the value of my coins will raise but I am happy if it goes down so I can buy more cheap coins. Winwin.

I think we might get there this month with the way the price has been swinging lately, but whether it'll stay there is another matter.   I'm hoping it will.

First of all, I think the more suitable word is "stable" , not "permanently ". Anyway my thoughts about your question is that won't happen, at least in this year 2015 , until it end. I'd be happy and contented seeing bitcoin stable @ 450. 500 is a bit unrealistic to me. I guess we will be seeing more than 500 on second quarter of 2016

i do believe bitcoin will reach to $500 someday but i think there is no permanently price in bitcoin and probably temporary stable or stuck in that price within a certain period only and because bitcoin price is very unpredictable and can down or rise up anytime

By observing the charts and analyzing the current demand up coming events of bitcoins, I am sure the price will be above $500 by end of 2015 and it will be a positive sign for those who have been holding coins as they can sell them and earn profit. However, it is likely that the rise in price will last for ever there after unlike it was the case in 2013.

The euphoria and certainty has me really scared tbh. Whenever everyone starts jerking each other off over how the 10-20% increase is a sure thing, it's a pretty good indication that people aren't thinking rationally.

The chinese are driving the price up because they're silly geese. But we're losing steam. If and when a whale calls this the local max and begins dumping, sentiment changes and we're back at 300 before you know what hit ya. If this was a slow bumpy increase I'd feel great. But look at the zoomed out charts. This isn't sustainable.

I'm long on btc but from now through February I'm treading carefully.

From what I have seen so far I would say a definite yes. The price is steady and not jumping to much at one time. That is a good growth and it will hit that mid kilo mark and stay that way into the new year.
This is my prediction from what I have been analysing so far from charts of the past month. Since the last big surge at the beginning of November.

Not permanently. There will always be ups and downs. Just like the $1200 to $200 drop, it will be one but on a larger magnitude. Maybe $2000 to $400. Who knows?
