Agree, I myself have experience this, thankfully I didn't invest more than afford to lose and came out just fine.

To be honest the most ruthless thing is that there are many newcomers who are driven by the vision presented in late 2017 and in many biased crypto news portals. They will quickly get dissapointefd if BTC reaches new lows.

This market is ruthless to the naive investors who are emotionally attached with their coins and not booking profit  being greedy. Be opportunistic and earn the profit first rather booking losses. Am I right as per the present situation?

Yes, you are right. As long as you can book profit and not being greedy, you can get your profit with steady. This situation makes us become carefully to decide, and we cannot expect to make a big profit because of the market still unpredicted. Take your profit when you can see it and don't waiting for another time because it will not happen in the short time again. I am sure by doing that, you can take the profit in everytime you trade, and you can do over and over again to make another profit.

Due diligence would have told most folks ETH has some serious security issues. Maybe they can be fixed.

BTC has weathered many many attacks and has proven security and as a globally distributed network of p2p exchange...

BTC right now in the early adoption phase requires patience.

BTC gets the the most FUD because it is the biggest threat to the bankster system of global fraud and greed.

The crypto market is ruthless to people or investors who are just concern about making profits without understanding how the whole crypto space works. Naive investors are just victims of circumstances. The market is not responsible for making naive investors lose their investments.

A good rule of thumb is to have a number 5x 10x where u sell half your coins. If It moons further u still have skin in the game.If it crashes still in profit win-win but most people are greedy and never do that.

That's right. The most important thing is not to go on about their emotions and not to be greedy. The most important thing to make a profit, and do not worry if you sold the coin and its price after will be increased. Do not chase the big money, it will not lead to anything bad.

You are right. This is the rule in the work here
Feelings do not thrive rolling
The field of numbers needs analysis, not feelings

But if you believe in currencies and expect a great future
Hold and love it as you please.

This is the case with each and every market, if you are planning to invest make sure you learn about the market before jumping into it, this is the case with stock, bonds or any market, if you are a naive person you will suffer the loss and i am sure many people lost their money in bitcoin when they jumped in when the price was at an all time high and rather than cutting their losses they might held onto them and end up in heavy losses, this is a new market and every investor must understand the price fluctuation and the risk involved while investing your money.

Is ruthless to those traders that came to buy on the hold mantra without any risk management put in place by them. Crypto trading is risky and without much knowledge in doing what you intend to do, you will lose money.

Unfortunately, it seems so. I think that any business has no place for emotions. People have to be rational and not kind to succeed. Otherwise, they might get lucky once, but it wouldn't be a long-term stable income. I am the kind of emotional person. I am attached to my coins. I was attached to them during ATH and I didn't sell anything, which was obviously a stupid decision. Even though every now and then we see new low points, I am not selling my coins even now. Not because I don't want to lose or want to profit, but since I kind of feel guilty of betraying bitcoin like that. But that's probably something I'm going to regret.

Of course profit is necessary to remove in the first place.I don't care about those coins,I need money.I don't care about all the coins.I've already lost so much.Selling the last.

the market is never cruel to any investor, the market is driven by investors themselves and they hit each other at the price of one another, losses must be experienced by players who lose because their egos and ambitions have turned them off

Every investment involves risks. At the moment, the most desperate are those who risked the most, for example, borrowed money. It has been repeated many times in this forum to invest only "as much as you can lose". For people who can don't understan how cryptocurrency market work,  this placd for sure is ruthless.

Yes. Think so. An investment I did which I sent the tokens out of the the exchange because I just want to hold it and it was worth more then $10k, now is just worth $1k, how ruthless can that be? I wasn't tempted to sell so I guess I'm really willing to hold it for years but I could have dumpe and bought more this time. I have things to work on with my job though so I didn't find time to do it. For someone who also did this, it would be devastating especially if those funds are for mortgage and so on.

not being emotional is not equal to selling whenever you see a drop. in fact selling in most cases means you are emotional and naïve!
being an expert means you know what you are doing. in other words if you buy or sell or hold or pretty much do anything else you have to have a pretty good and logical reason for them. for example if you chose to sell today you have to have a pretty solid reason believing price is going to fall more instead of being emotional and guessing it might drop only because you read a bunch of FUD on forums.

no, any market is ruthless to naive investors. there is nothing new in cryptocurrency market. when money is involved everyone is only focusing on their own benefits and there is always going to be a large number of newbies that come in thinking they will become rich and it happens in all markets. then because of their naivete they make bad decisions such as buying too late in the bubble, or selling too late after the sell was over at the bottom,... and continue to lose money.

yes

The sharpest answer I've ever seen. Yes I agree with you. Naive investors thinks crypro always will go up. But reality is different. And sadly, it is easy to fooled these people.

The market is full of both experienced investors and naive buyers. Those newbies learn their lesson and then do the same tricks on other newbies. The market fails when the number of newbies dry up
