Bitcoin was also here for 8 long years before it reaches above $1200 and stay there for at least a week but now that people noticed dash after 3 years you are wondering why?

I think is imposible is DASH can over bitcoin price
can over bitcoin price if bitcoin die, or DASH can die if price over bitcoin price, if not die maybe can low volume transaction and down again
not altcoin can replace position bitcoin without bitcoin die

Simple answer: No

DASH market adoption is not good enough and the current price pump will eventually go down when the masternodes release their coins on the market. To make profits. I clearly see centralization in this coin

Don't too overestimate Dash, Dash will be dumped, like Litecoin and Ripple, which also hit that high market cap. You know every coin can be dumped after huge pump.

I wish there will be altcoins to crossover with bitcoin. I wish ETH , XMR and DASH to compete with Bitcoin to have more option for people.

ETH token is not for a wide adoption as a method of payment. I'm not able to understand their idea of world supercomputer but I think the project is solid. From the point of view of technology ETH with its smart contracts is an interesting project to track and probably to buy a few tens of ETH.

XMR main feature is anonymity. It is like Bitcoin but with much higher degree of anonymous TX's. However, it is also not scalable as Bitcoin is, though I think they can fix it in the future.

DASH looks very promising and they have a lot of money for development.

But my favourite is NEM and people have just started to notice all the potential it has.

I don't think it will, although it is the best time, they are here since 2014 and not much development to give Bitcoin a run for their money,it's been hype so many times in the past and many hype like this will come in the future, but will not come close to what Bitcoin has achieved.

Have to wonder now is dash going to >> in value per coins, as 1/2 the coins....
its sorta looking that way now....
among other things....the internecine warfare of BU v Segwit is killing it

ok let me ask you one thing only:
WHY NOW?

dash has been around from 2014 according to the ANN topic (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anndash-dash-dashorg-first-self-funding-self-governing-crypto-currency-421615) or maybe even more. so what has changed about it "today" after 3+ years that made it suddenly good and out of nowhere?!!

nothing about it is changed. neither the code nor the adoption.

do you even have any explanation apart from it being a pump and dump like always?
Dash has hard forked recently and added a code base for the future "evolution" upgrade, planned for this year.
The hard fork was voted on by masternodes and went painlessly, which is in total contrast to the current BTC problems.

Also, the volume is raising steadily.

haha funny how you had to create a new account just to say this.

anyways all altcoins can fork withing a blink of an eye because they have a very small amount of people to convince to switch compared to bitcoin.

have you even seen the hash rate distribution lately? take a look at the charts and see the distribution and compare it to any altcoin you like.
now go to the nodes and see how many nodes each of them have and how distributed they are.
now look at the number of transactions per day in a "normal day" not when "price is pumping day" and compare it with bitcoin.

Just look at the timing. Have you ever seen a lot of FUD towards Bitcoin because of the low speed and cost of transactions? Agressive marketing of Dash and some very people who are not happy about BTC helped Dash reach the biggest altcoin bubble in crypto history. However, Dash is not suitable for worldwide adoption. It is not as fast as people are thinking.

A technical solution can be found, and dash can fork....I think the unity of dev is proving most important

I don't think it will cross or beat bitcoin, not any time soon anyways. Bitcoin is the best there is, and it will definitely held its end up. These small news, controversies or tactics can only pump or dump the prices for a shorter period of time and cannot have a lasting impact.
But in any case, we'll see how far it can go.

I was thinking how sick people are of the btc split in dev, which means nothing will get done.....is the stark implication...

I am sure dash has similar problems though.

maybe dash can reach as 1/2 the bitcoin and all of us for the truth. after we see that dash price is jump suddenly into 0.1 btc and now in around 0.1xx btc then it could be possible for dash to reach more higher because i see the dash team is a solid community and i think they will give support. but all in all, its back to the market supply and demand and let people to select what the best for them.

i think the market of bitcoin is recovering now after the initial fud, and dash still has a long way to reach 0.2 let alone pairs it with bitcoin, i don't think will happen, and BU is not winning the consensus for BU is very low around 30%, without the 75% there will be no hard fork or splitting
