I'm using it, getting about 10 every 2 days. It uses zero resources on my phone, shows it's using zero battery too.

Zero?

Richard Ells said :

The app will also not use a lot of data, according to Richard Ells. Data will be required to communicate with the server for account balances and transactions but will be kept to a minimum.

for resources

not use a lot of data and be kept to a minimum, not means zero because of there are resources used.

for battery power

example cases:
Quote
The miner has used 10% of battery power since last being charged.
The miner has used 107MB of RAM memory in the last 3 hours, less than 4% of the available RAM.

-not means zero, mining using phone has power consumption from the battery

I have a spare phone and want to make use of it.
Do you guys see electroneum worth it to mine? Undecided

I do not really think it's worth it. I would suggest you try it for days or weeks then observe for yourself if it's worth it. But if you believed that electroneum has a special place in the market like it would go to the moon in the near future then I think now is better time to mine it while the difficulty is not yet high compared to mining bitcoin.

I was mining ETN back in Dec/Jan with a Vega rig.  I haven't been watching it on a daily basis, but difficulty is way way down compared to a month ago, but who knows, could very well start making it's way back up again.

Well 10 ETN a day to me means that..

10x 365 days = 3650 x current ATH = 0.15P = £548 a year?

That current ATH happened with only 1 exchange and nowhere near the user base it has now.

Im aware to even myself im sounding like some kind of ETN defender or Fanboy which im neither just dont get why so many people are so down on the project all the time.

If sombody said to me leave a phone on for 1 year and ill give you £500 id leave the phone on?

You forgot to add the cost of electricity and the difficulty of ETN, probably will rise and gain less ETN each day/week

I think you have given great information about ETN mining through mobile phone because of I am getting around 4 to 5 ETN pre day I think it'll be more profitable in coming days.

Sure, esp since you are using a spare phone that probably isn't in use or generating revenue at the moment.

Just forget it, use your smartphone for the intended purpose. It is not known how the mining is affecting the smartphone itself, but nothing good. You will earn nothing - it's for sure.

You'll mine about 10ETN a day with a high end smartphone. Worth peanuts, but it will add up eventually. Is that worth your time and effort? Your call.

I'd be careful with electroneum. They got $40 million worth during their ICO but they ended up launching a failed network where miners took advantage of early profits that were supposed to be for investors. Also take into consideration that there are now cryptonight ASICs but unlike Monero they have not announced any forks or updates to combat these. They probably don't have a good technical team and don't know how to do it.

Sorry that's incorrect - if you watch the Q&A with Richard the owner of Electroneum he states on 2 separate occasions they will follow Monero with a fork.
You can find it on youtube or on there social media pages.

I dont understand the failed network bit tbh? But I only started following them in Jan and yes coin price is down and they have had a recent outage which was bad form, but i dont see that as a failed network. Watch the video, there seems to be a load of good things in the pipe line, also everyone of the Q1 targets/roadmap have been met -

Well as people say, if it is basically no overhead and it won't run your hardware into the ground faster than you would trade in phones anyway, anything is profit even if small. The Weiss ratings for reason were not very kind to electroneum, but since it's one of the few that can be mined without investing in gpus / asics, i.e. your phone that probably doesn't matter.

You wont get rich from it but it doesnt drain battery or use bandwidth from what i understand its a simulation of mining.
So why not?

Its just free coins in essence.

Currently worth 0.02 so based on 3 ETN a day thats what 63p a week?

But nobody knows the price of ETN in the future i think its ATH so far has been 0.18 still not loads, but they have 70,000 mobile miners and over 1,000,000 registered users at the moment. I'm confident the price will increase but no idea by how much..way i see it if you can set it up in 5 min and leave it run then why not. If its a hassle then maybe not bother..
yeah, you can do it, dude.
by the way, what brand and series your phone?
whether your goal is to find a profit by holding the coin and hope a price a coin going to the moon, or just for having a good time.

no mining is worth it.
does it generate coins for no reason while running in the background? Yes. That is purely profits.

dude,
mining using phone can't worth although can do. you will have a bit hashrate and only waste your time. see ETN price, now can't sound nice and the diff was increased. I think you will earn 2ETN/3 days or more, still it isn't worth it.
