Google’s head of quantum computing, Hartmut Neven:
“In the future race between a Tesla and a Porsche, if one had access to quantum computers and the other company didn’t, the one that doesn’t have access to a quantum processor will lose out because with the quantum process at hand, you will be able to accelerate your battery development very quickly.”

Elon Musk needs a quantum computer.

And the Bitcoin network is a place where you can prove that you own a quantum computer, an indicator.

Are quantum computers possible? Are there already at least some theoretical prototypes?

It's my understanding is that the current focus is on optical computing with random noise bandwidth being the limiting factor. Quantum computers can be simulated however, I've read reports that monte carlo simulations can and do surpass quantum computers in regards to performance.

That is why we would love to contact him on Twitter so everyone can know the real details.

He is not answering.

Here is a tweet where he describes quantum as incredible.

Quantum mechanics was harder than all my other courses combined, but so incredible

Maybe he will surprise the community.

I think no one is healing, so he is not saying anything. No need to say anything personally Alan Kasturi will not hide it if he actually develops a quantum computer and will end up in the public interest. That is why we would love to contact him on Twitter so everyone can know the real details.

Is Elon Musk developing a quantum computer?

Go ask him on Twitter.

He is not responding. Can someone send him a PM or ask him privately?

elon musks priority is public utility.
by this i mean space transport
human transport
goods transport
..
so i dont see elon getting in on the QC game..

Quantum chip solves ‘travelling salesman’ problem for 22 cities
https://www.electronicsweekly.com/news/research-news/quantum-chip-solves-travelling-salesman-problem-22-cities-2020-01/
'''According to the university, this is “something that would take about 1,200 years for a high-performance von Neumann CPU”, but the chip “can solve the travelling salesman problem for 22 cities instantly” until now using quantum processing it “has only been able to solve the travelling salesman problem involving a maximum of 16 cities”.
A quantum annealing computer is not a full-blown quantum computer, of the type that could crack encryption for example, which no one has yet made – or if they have, they are keeping quiet about it.'''

He met the boss of Google?

The boss of Google has warned that quantum computers will be able to break encryption within as little as five years, signalling the growing threat to privacy such technological advances.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2020/01/22/googles-sundar-pichai-quantum-computing-could-end-encryption/
"In a five to ten year time frame, quantum computing will break encryption as we know it today."

Re: Full Bitcoin node in Tesla? It is possible!

Crypto enthusiasts proved a long time ago, that their creativity knows no bounds. After a lot of exclusive gadgets, it’s time for a car that is able to fully support the Bitcoin network. Can cars be the future of cryptocurrencies and an alternative to expensive equipment...

I agree with you all because I don't think Elon Kasturi is developing a quantum computer We all know he met her on Twitter. And why would he hide if he had developed in the public space? If Alan Kasturi develops a quantum computer there will be a lot of changes in the way crypto works.

^ maybe, but he kept it a secret from the public and only for personal use. we have all seen what Elon has produced and many people think Elon is not from Earth. so I don't think it will be difficult for an Elon musk to create a quantum computer.

Maybe Elon Musk read that post
Satoshi knew that one day quantum computers will exist and will be able to move the early mined coins (P2PK) and created an unofficial prize competition to accelerate the development.

Maybe Satoshi created the greatest prize competition and the privatekeys are somehow within the blockchain.
Our guess is that he knew that the early mined coins will be moved one day. So he created a 'prize competition'. Otherwise he could move the coins to quantum resistant P2PKH addresses, but he did not and is not doing.

The only question is:
Who will win the race and get the early coins?

Quantum computing or solving the "Satoshi Prize Competition".

Nobody can stop that race.

I am sure he does.
He has stated a lot of times that he is towards innovations and he always searches for ways to improve not only his company's wealth but to improve the mankind living.
I'm not so sure about that.
Is this the first time I've heard of it, can anyone confirm it?

elon musks priority is public utility.
by this i mean space transport
human transport
goods transport
electric generation

seems elon musk wants to make peoples living costs cheaper.
less taxes because gov aint paying large sums to service the international space station
less electric bills
less fuel bills
less travel costs

though quantum is a new industry. its not something thats gonna be consumer ready any time soon
the equipment needed to sheild a QC from light, heat and magnatism to remove as much interference to get a good measure of the things involved in QC makes it not a small object to have on a desk
(your grandkids wont have a quantum smartphone)

so i dont see elon getting in on the QC game just like he hasnt got into the 'cloud storage' computing game
he isnt into the science of terraforming mars. he is interested in the taxi to mars industry.
so i dont see him caring for the utility of QC for sciences. unless QC becomes expensive to lease hours of remote use. .. then he might just buy a few and sell time on it cheaper

He's too busy doing Tesla and other things.  Plus quantum computing is way in the future and we shouldn't make that affect what we do now especially since it will affect much more than Bitcoin if it ever is developed.

Well does that make a difference. ?
...

The difference is: who will have the first quantum computer with enough qubits?

Quantum computing boost for IBM but Bitcoin stays safe https://decrypt.co/16211/quantum-computing-boost-for-ibm-but-bitcoin-stays-safe
IBM has doubled the power of its quantum computer but Bitcoin's encryption is still far from being broken.
"IBM has doubled the power of its quantum computer. At yesterday's CES 2020 conference, the company announced it had successfully achieved a Quantum Volume of 32 using its 28-qubit quantum computer known as Raleigh."
"As a network built entirely around cryptographically secured transactions, it stands to reason that a sufficiently powerful quantum computer could eventually crack the encryption used to generate Bitcoin private keys. However, according to a June 2017 paper by Martin Roetteler and several co-authors, such as a machine would need to command approximately 2,500 qubits of processing power to break the 256-bit encryption used by Bitcoin."

The quantum computers are already there , even if they decide to develop then it would already be developing a existent thing and this would be a good market for them , the competition actually increases the quality and we would be unfortunate Sad in that it would be bad for the blockchain and the wallets .
Hopefully the security and the legalization issues are taken care of before taking any step like this.
