For small payments, you'd rather be choosing ETH between the two, its just convenient to use ETH with cheaper transaction fees than BTC. Save some dollars at least if the person on the other side isn't in the position to refuse ETH payment. As much as possible I'd like to save, I would even pick the cheapest like TRX or XRP if he accepts them as the confirmation is faster.

If the person on the other side will go explaining about irreversible and immutability then he is up to get BTC as the payment, I'd be sending BTC.

I personally feel Litecoin is much better then Bitcoin and Ethereum but sadly its not working every where like bitcoin so where I able to use then I am going with Litecoin and where I feel I cannot go with this I am using Bitcoin as its also very important for all movements without any serious problem.
for payment, I also sometimes use other payment alternatives. it's because of the lower fees. however, in the case of bitcoin and ethereum, most people prefer bitcoin. it's just that, personally, I chose ethereum as my transaction tool so far.

Trading in Ethereum is always cheaper and done much faster than Bitcoin. It saves both time and money. I always use it myself and have also received testimony from such users. Yet I am not denying Bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot be compared to any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is said to be the king of all cryptocurrencies.

In my own opinion, when it comes to payment method, it is not always about which coin is better than the other; but instead the situation is situated towards what is preferably accepted by both the payment method issuer and the payer.

In my own opinion, i feel like etherum is the easiest mode of payment, alongside litecoin. I do not choose bitcoin first because it could delay transactions when there is a network clog.

We can´t say that it is better because it is faster. We also need to look comprehensively at it. It is faster because the block time is only a few seconds, but more blocks you have, more data information is stored and that could be a problem in the future with decentralization. Only a few users will be able to download the whole blockchain and manage it Smiley.

I normally suggest ltc, it's not perfect but it has segwit and a 1mb block every 2.5 minutes.

Eth txs are definitely cheaper than btc though srull from when I last used them...
I nevered tried using Litecoin yet but i will try, I just only use Bitcoin and ETH on transaction , and i agree bitcoin had high fee than Ethreum but on the transaction speed sometimes it all depends because of network congestion. Sometime when i transfer it takes more time but i just wait it will arrive soon.

Very often we see people sugget to use ETH or any alternative coin for cheap and faster tx. I am going to share some information which will proof that it is no better. I may be wrong too, I am not an expert here. Just sharing what I have got.

BTC Avg. Block time- 10 minutes
ETH Avg. Block time- ~14 seconds (now)

So, ETH will get around 43 blocks = 1 BTC block

BTC block size- 1 MB (Let's say we use Legacy only)
ETH Block size- 20 to 30 kb (Let's say 25kb on average)

How much byte can both proceed within 10 minutes?
Both BTC and ETH will be able to proceed 1 MB tx data on average.

Is not both same in term of handling tx? Sometimes BTC is even better with segwit.
Just sharing some random thoughts, I am not expert technically. So, I may be wrong in many ways.

I think every crypto coin was build to solve a particular payment issue, so they are all unique on their own,in terms of payment, the blockchains are quite different, different terms of transaction fees etc. So you go for the one that will solve your problem for that period
yes of course transactions using cryptocurrency have a lot of very high security for conducting large-scale transactions because when using cryptocurrency all transactions are more open and anyone can see and record it too neatly. while for ethereum and bitcoin it would be better if you use coins that have a lot of supply because the price will be stable.

They are both good for payment the downside is bitcoin have higher fees and longer confirmation and ETH network sometimes will encounter network congestion and transaction with low gas will be stuck in the pending transaction, you should look for more alternative altcoin if you are going to put up a shop that accepts crypto.
ETH network is faster than BTC, of course you should not use low fee. If you use high fee, your transaction will be processed quickly. In contrast to Bitcoin, even though the fees used are high, I see the transactions in process still slow.
But our main consideration when making payments is costs. here the lower the cost of course people will choose it. we all know that at the moment ethereum also costs are quite high. should if it is specified in the reverse payment. but the ethereum platform was not made for payments

I can't repeat it often enough, I recommend you to use Litecoin or Dogecoin for fast and above all cheap transactions!
I prefer Litecoin, it is also known as the 'Silver of Cryptos'.

At Litecoin I always ship with fees around 0,01$!

Name me a coin, except BTCitcoin, that has a similar reputation, at the same time every person that can use BTCitcoin, it is easy to use Litecoin also.
Because Litecoin is similar to BTCitcoin!

For daily use, especially if you do several transactions a day, BTCitcoin and Ethereum is simply too expensive for me... Wink

From transferring person to person ETH is much better because of its low fee and faster confirmation time on the chain. But when I transfer from exchange to exchange (only small amounts) I usually convert them to XRP before sending them because most exchanges have the lowest withdrawal fee on XRP.

There are more crypto coins which have very low transaction fee or zero fee and fast transaction like XRP.LTC, Neo etc. But if choose in Ethereum and BTC for payment then I will choose Ethereum as it has fast transaction and low fee.
That's right, because everyone I think always needs both points, fast transaction and low fee. And if between Ethereum and Bitcoin, I think many people will choose Ethereum when making a transaction. I personally rarely use BTC when making transactions.

In my opinion, the handling of tx is better than ETH, but if the payment is I think it is better ETh than BTC, because ETH has lower shipping fees than BTC.
More scalability and more tx can be processed and that doesn't need a lot of time and the volatility can be avoided, as the result for this process and the sellers can secure their profit without worried about to get a loss even when they didn't hold their money. ETH is much better than bitcoin to be a payment system.

I have tried using the three and you are right Litecoin get the top spot because of it's low fees and fast confirmation these three are the most popular in online wholesale and retail stores, there are other coins in consideration Nano is good and so are the others like XRP, but I guess tghis three are experimental for online stores.

You probably just hold them, that is a reason why it doesn't matter to you. Have you tried using BTC when the network is on heavy load? This usually happens during rise of the price of BTC. The fee during that time is totally unbearable to make smaller transaction. Like, if you want to get a quick confirmation you will have to be paying a lot of fee.
If you pay less, your transaction is going to take hours to confirm. That is when people prefer to use some other altcoins like LTC or ETH.
Yes, I used BTC when the fee was $2, but it rarely spikes like that. Typically it's just around $1 or less. The problem with ETH, it's cheaper but not as cheap and fast as XRP or XLM. So when I wanted to move funds between exchanges or wanted to gamble, I'd rather use XRP.

a $1 BTC fee compared to a $0.1 ETH fee (last time I checked) is not really tempting to store ETH for payment, considering the price volatility.

My point is if you want to make small transactions, ETH won't help you do that. Better use XRP or XLM.
