I am not sure about eth but if litecoin keeps the innovations like segwit open and keep improving it will definitely hit a high marketcap. With a high marketcap and all eyes on litecoin it can get close to bitcoin, definitely can’t pass it anytime soon but on long term the gap between them might close.

You are kidding right? Ethereum still an infant coin, still cant compete bitcoin, and no store accepting eth yet, so if eth replace bitcoin we will start again from 0, need to convince shop and company to adapt eth, at that time I doubt people will trust eth, because eth itself ever forked, market will crush if bitcoin fall down
I agree with most of it but it is not an infant coin. The discussion here is not acceptence or anything but marketcap.

I don’t think ETH has a slightest chance of passing BTC but it is surely far away from being infant as well. It is just a long way to go but the it had the beginning steps covered already.

Calling Ethereum "young" would be an insult.
That mean it is unproven and potentially insecure.
Heard of the DAO hack ?

And if it is about market cap then why take advice from idiots who can't read the sticky msg's here ?
That proves they are fucking idiots.

Some of the smartest and most famous guys in crypto have agreed with me.. ETH can not and should not and will not be compared to Ethereum.
It is apples & oranges.
ETH was never designed to be a currency in the first place.
It's an "app's" platform on a block-chain dumb-ass's  Roll Eyes
Further more it technically can never surpass BTC because of how it actually works and what it actually is.
The notion is silly bullshit..

Oh and by the way since you all love to chant ETH is just an infant let me remind you it was ICO'd in 2014.

It is highly unlikely for ETH to take over the status of BTC from all perspective of honesty. To be fair though ETH is growing rather strongly in very much in it's own convenience and advantages.

Ethereum is the scam coin that the banksters control.

Good luck laying down with the devil's dogs.

As long as the sleazy retards get paid they have no problem with it.
There is nothing more to crypto.

As long as the majority have no morals then we see a 2 sided scam game..
One side presents the bullshit and the other plays along fer teh ROI'z.

If you are not one of them then your powerless.
The majority rules.
And they are greedy selfish short-sighted worthless pieces of shit.
I refuse to play along with the little game for profits.

I think bitcoin price is in a steady climb in the past few weeks. My only speculation is because of the Japanese market entering into the bitcoin ecosystem. I'm seeing its almost at $1200 now and will probably rise as long as there's no any FUD going around, bitcoin price will reach $1200 again. As for ETH, the price is going up and down lately, maybe because they are dumping it now and started to buy bitcoin again.

This will results in a ethereum moontrip

Are you guys ready for a ethereum moontrip or will you be left behind and rekt in a freefalling bitcoin?

Lets go , profit for everyone !  Smiley

Well you use analysis technical for making prediction ethereum's price and trading altcoins in ethereum and you make analysis technical for making prediction bitcoin's price too, bitcoin is down trend and ethereum is up trend but doesn't mean ethereum going to take over bitcoin in upcoming months although everything can be happening, it is fluctuation of price all of coins always be fluctuating. You must use analysis fundamental for making prediction is ethereum will take over bitcoin.

$100.00 fee to transfer how much btc? with today's average transfer fees, it would cost $100.00 to transfer $17,203.00 worth of BTC. In my opinion that's more than reasonable.

It will increase significantly if the block size is not increased and/or some off chain solution isn't able to supplant on chain demand growth.

Bitcoin has utility, eth just barely has one or two uses.

What good is that utility (e.g. transferring value) if I can't use it because the fees go to $100 per transaction?

You don't think most of the places that accept crypto now will not accept ETH when nobody can use Buttcoin any more.

The current standoff means fees will just keep increasing.

This war isn't over yet.

Is Ethereum going to take over bitcoin in the upcoming months?

No, Etherum is a scam. Just like Dash, Monero, Zcash, and the rest. Stay away or you'll regret it.

this is funny quote here,,
you say eth is scam just like you mentioned above,,

ethereum can't take over BTC because ,, BTC will always at the top for all cryptocurrency,,
BTC is the first Idea behind this cryptoworld,, and can't be replaced by another one..

ethereum price can be reach about a half of bitcoin price but it will never take over the Bitcoin

What saved btc and helped crypto as a whole is the amount of greater fools that poured their money into btc. Japanese probably don't know about bitcoin's current situation, check jpy volume https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/btc/analysis/USD

What's bitcoin's utility ? Speculation and currency ? You probably don't realise that probably half the places that used to accept btc don't accept it anymore. And more are giving up on btc, because the volume was too tiny to matter. People use it mostly for speculation.
ETH 1 use ? So only United Nations is using ethereum ? https://insight.wfp.org/what-is-blockchain-and-how-is-it-connected-to-fighting-hunger-7f1b42da9fe#.wjqubh86m

Cashback 15%
Bitcoin got hit pretty damn hard in the past few weeks,  but now it's above $1000 again.  Eth replacing btc?  No, I don't think so.   If I owned a house, I'd wager it and everything else I own--that's how certain I am about it.  Bitcoin has utility, eth just barely has one or two uses.  And there are hundreds of other coins I could say the same thing about.

You know what i hate more than fud ? Low quality fud. If you do it, then do it right. It's like trying to insult someone, misspell every word and end up insulting yourself. You only prove you're a moron.

Besides, Etherum has a cap on its price too. Can't make those contracts too expensive..... No thanks.
