For exodus
Does one have to sync each individual blockchain ?
Do you mean download the whole Blockchain? No.

I assume no it probably works like a web wallet/light wallet right ?
Yes.

Why Eden when there are only a few coins more than on the normal Exodus Wallet?
The Homepage says:

Important items to remember about Eden
We recommend Eden for advanced users only. Normal Exodus users SHOULD NOT USE Eden.
Eden is unsupported, pre-release software - things are likely to break.
Support for Eden will be provided by the community and our public Slack channel.
This page on our website is purposefully hidden. Don't give this to your neub friends as you will likely get stuck doing tech-support for them when things don't work properly.
To be clear, the Exodus customer support team will not be able to help if you experience any problems with Eden.

No good Idea... You don´t know who is reading your post.... Newbies can lost all your coins with this wallet....

Try Exodus Eden for all of your altcoin needs. That version of Exodus has more support for tokens but no customer support since it is "unsupported" tokens. I seriously hope they bring 2 factor authentication soon to Exodus desktop though. Then, they can work on a mobile wallet!

I noticed there have been some issues over at Shapeshift https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.25271057

As Exodus uses Shapeshift i'm a tad concerned as a holder of coins in Ex.

A need to be concerned?

You don't have to use ShapeShift if don't you want. The option is just there to help users quick exchange between assets directly from their wallet.

You can manually send your coins to an exchange and trade them to other assets.

Thanks for response, much appreciated.

... where i can import my private key and seeds to access my assets ?

Into any compatible wallet... so you go get a BTC wallet, a BCH wallet, a BTG wallet, an ETH wallet, a DOGE wallet, a LTC wallet, a XXX wallet... you get the idea...

If you're lucky, there will be another multi currency wallet (like Coinomi) that will take your private keys/seed and give you access to your "assets". I honestly don't know if Coinomi works with Exodus seeds... there is a good chance it will, but I've not tested it.

If you're THAT concerned about it, then I would suggest that you start testing a few different recovery options NOW, before you go too far down this road.

Exodus don't hold your private keys... you do. You have your 12 word backup seed. This is BIP39/44 compatible and easily portable to any other compatible wallet. As far as I'm aware, your seed/private keys are only stored on your local device. Exodus have NO access to this, so there is no way for Exodus to "exit" scam.

Unless they've filled their software with backdoors that allow them access to your keys... but you can just check the source code to see if tha... oh... wait. Roll Eyes

can exodus exist scam ?

just suppose if it exist scam , for example how i will manage to get back my money if they closed their services ? what we will do than ?

There will be no problem as you control your private keys. You can import your coins into a new wallet.
Please some one correct me if I am wrong.

Hi all.

I'm look to store my bitcoins and ethers on a desktop wallet (until I get my hardware wallet sometime this fall), and Exodus looks like a good match for my needs.
What is the cryptocurrency community opinion on how safe this wallet is (as long as I keep my desktop safe of course)?

Regards,
kenneho

yes it is very safe already my friends using this one so you have to try once and keep hold it long time. it keeps our coin more safe and secure generally more people does not believing it is safe. but you try to buy and keep your coin in to this wallets. it is really good validated form.

Does anyone know if Exodus is planning on a mobile wallet?
I don't think it is planned at the moment.
They are focusing on other things. See the roadmap (support.exodus.io/article/96-exodus-wallet-roadmap) for details.
