No definitely not a good investment for the long term. You may be lucky and get a quick return but it's still not worth holding. The more people that try to make more from alts the more alts there will be and there is really only one true altcoin - Litecoin.

Hahaha this has to be a wind up. Gulden destroys Litecoin in every way that matters or will matter

Really? So, what can you buy with Litecoin? Can you buy delicious dinner in Amsterdam or get a cup of coffe? Buy tickets, make bets? Can you exchange Litecoin directly to EUR or USD in your Android wallet? What partnerships Litecoin has with merchants?
Gulden will overcome Litecoin in marketcap, you'll see it.

Look @Arvydas77 @legdunes here can you pay with Gulden

As for me it is not a good investment.
Tell me why

He didn't get in because he thought his own countrymen could never make a success of something in crypto.

He will continue blindly supporting scams and wake up in 2 years crying.
So are you deifining if the gulden coin is a scam coins? but I think the gulden just a middle coin is not good but it's not bad too, in bittrex the price of 1 gulden is 0.000001 and I think it's nough for the middle coin like gulden. but let me your final decission about gulden.

I would wait for their 1.6.0 update. We have no idea what is coming and it's a big update according to the devs. There is 10 features and 2 is Bitcoin payments from all wallets and buying coins from in the applications according to the article. There is 8 other features we don't know about.

With the Android and iOS wallets you can already purchase at all bitcoin and gulden merchants but they adding it to the desktop wallet too.

IMHO, Gulden is not only a good investment, there are already Dutch companies who sees this as an alternative way to exchange money. More interesting, the volume is coming from outside the crypto community:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/peoples-bitcoin-gulden-makes-significant-gains-without-hype

Like me, I am seeing this as the future, an alternative way to exchange money.

Edit: some other news about the Gulden:

My first purchases in 2014 is up more then 15 times in Euro value. I am not complaining, Gulden has been a bagholders dream. I bought again at 940 over the weekend and it's at 975 today.

Your 940sat purchase is turning out to be a good. 9.1% up in value.

12.6% up since my purchase. hehe

After 10 days I am up 20% on my last purchase. People in crypto look for these profits in a day and end losing. With Gulden long term investors and traders make money.

Up 25% today and since the user posted the coins value has gone up over 340% and it's been very steady unlike other pumps you see.

in all these coins you have to only find that good price to buy them at and then if you can actually find that price and also more importantly "act on it fast" you can enjoy the profit but whenever you are late you have to stay away and enjoy your regrets.

@RoommateAgreement the OP would be up 3 times his value if he bought when he posted. You can see the date posted and the price chart on coinmarketcap.

What you are saying is the normal thing that happens in crypto but not in this case.

I have no idea about the technical part of Gulden.  When I heard of it, it was pretty clear to me that this was a name-trick.  The Gulden was the former fiat money of The Netherlands, and was in general considered a strong currency (like the Deutsch Mark).  It has been replaced by the Euro, and since many years, the Dutch are becoming more and more Euro-critical.  So a "digital version" of their beloved former Gulden may have a nationalistic and nostalgic appeal.

My impression was that this was the main "value proposition" of the Gulden: to seduce nostaligics into it, as there are quite a bit of them.  But it may be that the Gulden has also really something to offer, apart from sentiment ; I don't know.  But I would be seriously wary about the fact that the name has been chosen to play on a sentimental chord.

I didn't want to post this in the Gulden Announcement page to avoid bias opinions but wanted to know if Gulden is a safe bet compared to other Country alt coins. The reason I am asking is I noticed there ranking on coinmarketcap is way below other coins that have nothing going for them or is it that the other alt coins are way over priced?

I don't hold Gulden - but, based on my own research, I would imagine that it is the best Country focused coin out there for various reasons. If you are looking to hold this sort of coin as part of a balanced portfolio it must be a contender. IMHO.  Smiley

You are right and its nice but its not considered as  along term, 10 days is not a long term at all to be honest.
Its profitable and its okay too invest in too.
Mu Gulden are 2 years old and will not sell it
