She said something that stuck with me, 'I don't want to play a high-risk game with my money'. And I get it, the thought of losing your investment in this economy is terrifying.

But it got me thinking, is investing in cryptocurrency really a risky game?
Your friend is right, crypto investment is risky and you should not force her, I love investment to be voluntary. If you push her too much and she invests and things turn south, it will be catastrophic for you because she never wanted it. After all, you are not the one earning/risking money, so forget it and invest if you so desire, perhaps your success may convince her.

As you can gain from cryptocurrency, you can lose as well, and this is irrespective of whether you know it better, at times our results are lucky, nevertheless, expertise is equally important. As I write now, I have some crypto investments doing so well, just like I have some that are doing so badly to the point that some are /4 in loss. This means that if it's $1,000 I invested, I now have $250 in them, that's how risky cryptocurrency is. Now tell me, if your friend is in my situation, how would she feel?
If you invest in Bitcoin then there is no need to panic about it or other top coins, I think a significant drop in market prices is a common thing because we have often seen such price movements but believe me all of that will have a turning point.
As it has been since long ago and in my opinion investing in crypto is still quite worth it even though with high risk but the potential profit is also comparable to that.
And it must also be realized that every investment has a risk and we must be observant in seeing the opportunities.
Sticking with Bitcoin then you could really be having that kind of confidence that you have invested on the right thing but of course you shouldnt really be that forgetting that when it comes to investment on cryptocurrencies doesnt really give out assurance that it would be succeeding in the future. This is why on the moment that you do make out some investment on crypto and doesnt matter which coins/tokens you are investing into. Always consider about that risks management on which it would really be that important on which it isnt really just that limited to crypto investment alone but also into those traditional investment too.
Risks is there as always if we do speak about investment and this is why you should really be that getting prepared for whatever conditions or situations that you would be able to achieve.

On the moment that you would be able to face up a bear market then you wont really be finding yourself having that kind impulsive reaction on the moment that it would happen.
Bare up with the risks and handle yourself so that you wont really be that prone on making bad decisions on which we know that this is something not really that good.

Op, is there any business that is 100% risk-free in this life?, well, the answer is no, and Therefore, same is as investment into Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and any other digital assets that you found interested to invest, basically because of the volatility that is in the crypto market.

Now the suitable answer to your question is that when we talk about cryptocurrency which Bitcoin is the chief of it all, then the answer is that Bitcoin is less risky than every other cryptocurrency out there because it a deflationary asset class, most secured form of money, and in the sense that base on its historical performances, Bitcoin has always bounced back to see its previous ATH, which means if you have patient enough to hodl bitcoin regardless of whatever price that you bought, you most likely will have your investment capital intact which is paramount in any business we do.

You can see that investing in cryptocurrency is very risky by observing the price fluctuations of Bitcoin over different periods.

Still investing in anything has a risk and so is the bitcoin BTC, however, the risk reduces considerably if you invest in the bitcoin only,
I do not say the same with other cryptocurrencies but when you have the major portion of your portfolio in bitcoin, you can consider yourself save and in the long term you should not be worrying about the ROI.
Yes, in the short term, there may be times when we are in the overall loss but if someone is following the DCA strategy, he won't be in a negative.

A perfect example here is of Michael J. Saylor who is the CEO of MicroStrategy. He is the bitcoin millionaire and he always buy bitcoins when the bitcoins falls to support at certain levels.

Michael saylor with his massive buying up of BTC really does put into perspective of how BTC investing could be a massive drive that could make an investment company thrive.
his company MSTR stock is having a good time with its stock prices right now

if BTC could increase the worth of a company this significantly, maybe we the small shrimp should just follow the act by following DCA strategy.

Its not possible for you to make an investment and not consider the risk associated to it, but if you're investing on Bitcoin in particular, then you're safe and have reduced the chances on the risk, cryptocurrencies in general is a game of those who are ready to learn and go by the way of expectations in choosing and doing the right thing, if we so wish, we could achieve more in it than making losses.
Everyone certainly does not want to experience losses so they will continue to try to get profit through good ways such as trying to choose the best assets among the many cryptocurrencies today. And Bitcoin is the right choice that has been tested for years so that it can be quite suitable as an investment option for many people even though the level of risk is very different from the others. Because it is true as you said that in any case, of course everyone must understand the risks first before making a decision.

Hi everyone, I'm still learning about crypto currency and the lots but I  wanted to share a conversation I had with a friend.

So she's been hesitant to get into crypto, and I was trying to convince her to give it a shot. But she's particular about the risks involved.

She said something that stuck with me, 'I don't want to play a high-risk game with my money'. And I get it, the thought of losing your investment in this economy is terrifying.

But it got me thinking, is investing in cryptocurrency really a risky game?

I mean, a lot of people are into it and we've all heard the horror stories about scams and hacks, but we've also seen the potential for huge gains.

So, is it worth the risk?

Have any of you had experiences that have made you more cautious or more confident in investing in crypto?  Please share I'd love to know

OP, you are conflating crypto and Bitcoin. Alt-coins are always far riskier than Bitcoin. But I feel safe with Bitcoin.
That's right. The high risk alt market may be attractive to investors due to low prices but this is going to be a trap for them. Investing in Bitcoins allows you to start accumulating small fractions every month which can gradually fill a circle over a long period of time. You can be more optimistic that the price of Bitcoin is increasing as expected even in the time of global inflation and expect another ATH soon.

You wouldnt really be seeing yourself get trapped not unless if you are really that expecting something positive from it. We do know that when it comes to this manner on which this market is really that highly random or simply unpredictable on which there's no way that you could really be able to tell on where prices could possibly go. This is why on the time or moment that you would really be finding yourself investing into this market
then its always been that recommended that you should really be at least know on what are the things that you are really that dealing with on which so that you wont really be that getting shocked nor really being that impulsive just because you didnt anticipate on how this market moves or behaves. This is why its important that you should really be at least having the idea on what you should gonna do.

On the moment that you decide on investing into crypto then it would really be that important or at least do know on whats the thing that you've been really dealing with. There are really just that
those individuals who are really that being too delusional and this is why on the moment that they do lose money, then they do become that highly impulsive.

It's not all of the cryptocurrencies that are risky to invest in, this is why it's important to DYOR before buying any of them. Bitcoin is not a scam crypto, it's very safe to invest in, it's a decentralized digital asset that have been tested and have proven it's reputation in the crypto market as a store of value. You just need to understand it's bull and bear seasons, the best time to buy and hodl is in bear run when it's price is in dip and sale in bull run when it's price is pumping. Keep your private keys safe, hyde them in secured locations, they are the keys to your asset.

Altcoins are risky to invest in, there are many projects that are being launched on a regular basis and most of them are scams. You should research altcoins properly, make your choice then gamble your funds and invest on a short term with the amount that you can afford to loose.

What must also be known is that every risk will be worth it with the possibility of profit, so it is the same for investing in Altcoin or Bitcoin.
For the long term, investing in Bitcoin is indeed not in doubt because it is likely that we will always be able to see its highest price, and that has happened since long ago.
And investing in Altcoin is indeed risky, but the percentage of profit if obtained is also quite large, so everyone must be prepared for all risks of the investment chosen.
Bitcoin can still be relied on as the best investment in the long term because everyone can still have the potential to cover their risks when the price of Bitcoin increases again as is currently happening because Bitcoin has returned to the $70K level even though only for a moment. But for Altcoin I think it is not necessary to invest in the long term because it is very bad so that altcoin is only suitable to be released and traded immediately without having to hold it for a long time.

One of the major reasons why some newbies investors are always frustrated within a short time of they investment  when the  expected results failed to come is because of the fact that they look so much on the positive side, for example when someone want to invest in bitcoin, instead of taking a close look at the market volitility and how possible it is for the price of bitcoin to stay down for a long time, they measure target will be on the potential gains and when buying bitcoin they focus solely on the profits that await them, this is why some of them even go as far as borrowing money to invest in bitcoin with the hope that they will turn the money over within a blink of an eye, but when this failed to come they become frustrated.

So is very important to always look out for the risk that is involved in bitcoin or any form of investment before going in for it, and failure to take a calculated risk, will always result in such frustrating outcome at the end of the day.

any investment has it own we of risk and their is no investment that is exempted for risk, because their is no investment that is assured,  I know very well that cryptocurrency investment has to do with risk all throughout, because sometimes when you invest in bitcoin and small information can make you to panic for the investment, so is obvious that investment of Bitcoin is even more riskier than manual investment in offline,  but I don't know how people may understand it, because people just say something to praise bitcoin investment so that they will not have haters.

But altcoins on the other hand have high risk factors that is much more higher to lose than gaining from it investment.

People believe that they have to risk more to get more profit because they remember being told that the bigger the risk, the higher the rewards and since everybody is calling altcoins a risker investments their attention get drawn to altcoins more than bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is also making alot of people to not pick interest in Bitcoin as they think that they can not make any profit again. Investing in Bitcoin is risky because the price is volatile like other cryptocurrency that you can lose if you panick and sell when the market is having a correction but there is a strategy that makes Bitcoin to become less risky and that happens when your strategy is buying and hodling. If you are trading, that is when investing in Bitcoin is seen to be more risky, do not panic when investing in cryptocurrency.

Depending on which of the cryptocurrency you are investing in, if you buy bitcoin your risk is highly minimal and the percentage between your loses and profits is higher in profits merging that is to say that you likely make more profits from bitcoin more than you make loses, which means your risk is almost none existence.
A bit disagree with your statement. You said investing in bitcoin guarantees you more profit than losses. In fact, bitcoin offers you the same risk as when you invested your money in the alternative coin. It likes when you bought BTC for 73k each, then it goes down to 54k, and can we still call this risk almost not exist?

But altcoins on the other hand have high risk factors that is much more higher to lose than gaining from it investment.

That's the rule of investing.

No pain, no gain.

The higher risk you deal, the more profit you get. Though Bitcoin's risk factor is far less than alts, but it gives us less profit. That's how crypto works.

I mean, a lot of people are into it and we've all heard the horror stories about scams and hacks, but we've also seen the potential for huge gains.
Could you point out a field where zero scams and hacks happen. Bitcoin ecosystem is here hence no one could stop those scammers and hackers from participating in bitcoin. If you neglect bitcoin investment opportunity for the reason of avoiding scammers or due to volatile nature of bitcoin, then it is up to you because you are the one who is going to miss the multibag returns of bitcoin investments. Instead, it would be better if you find time to learn about securing your bitcoins from scammers and hackers. Because, I am not seeing any other investment providing big returns as mush as bitcoin does for every four years.

Hack will not be the reason I will not invest because if you avoid hack, coins are safe.
Yeah, this is not the first time that someone considering about hacks as one of the risks of bitcoin investments. Because, people are really watching exchange hacks as daily events and then assuming like corporate level people are failing out to secure their coins then how about the individuals. But, by learning and practising, we can get rid off this hacking risks of bitcoin investment easily.
