All of us who are involved in cryptocurrency have heard and know to some extent about investing and trading. But I know that there are risks in investing and trading. To do these you need to know some basic things and gain experience. The main difference between investing and trading is the investment period, methodology, risk-taking propensity. Whether you are an investor or a trader depends on your financial needs and investment goals. Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

Those of us who are into cryptocurrencies must have some experience with trading. There are risks involved in investing and trading where everyone has their own kind of fear that's why we need to use that experience to trade. Especially in the case of trading, the fear of losing money is the greatest, and those who have been trading for a long time can certainly make a profit. However, investing does not have as much risk as separate trading, Bitcoin investors have less fear of losing money and less risks. Investment is a long-term project where people get security of their money and don't have that kind of risk. And trading is risky as it is for short period of time for which they can gain little money and suffer losses easily. So it is better to be careful about our trading and investing and invest with the intention of making us profit for long term.

If you want to start earning in bitcoin, you have to know that no one will choose for you to start treading or investing because you are the one who will do it, not someone else. What I can add up is that first of all, you need to know the difference between a long-term investment and treading, which is a short-term investment, and know their risk, which I can say treading is more risky than investment. Again, in treading, you need to acquire more knowledge about the technical aspects of bitcoin and know some strategy for whether to buy or sell. You have to engage in strong and serious research and also engage in classes to learn more, so all you have to do is assess them and choose yourself. Both of them are profitable, but to me, I will go for investment because it is less stressful and requires less knowledge.

Yes. They are not mutually exclusive.

In my opinion they can be combined but trading in the medium term as a minimum, which would be to take advantage to buy more in bear markets and sell at specific times in bull markets, not to be buying and selling all day long.
It is on a case-to-case basis in my opinion --perhaps.
Why? --because not all of us know how to trade, know how to do technical analysis nor fundamental analysis.
In that case, it depends on our knowledge or skills, for low knowledge or skills, investing and holding perhaps is an ideal one and for an experienced crypto enthusiast, would be trading.

From the beginning of Bitcoin birth, long term holders have always be the most profitable of them all and it's also more safer, no risk in holding Bitcoin than to risk of possible lost of asset through carelessness or silly mistakes.

Since you are new, read more about Bitcoin and know the best wallets to use for storing Bitcoin for long term and start trading if you like, but know that trading is very risky, you can lose money in trading easily that's why you need to reshape your skills in time.

You lose money invest in Bitcoin only if you sell at a lower price, Bitcoin is more like Gold and that's why you can keep holding for years to come, as you can see even Black Rock and other big giants in the financial worlds are going Big into crypto space, they won't come near if Bitcoin is trash.
Listen, you've hit on some undeniably sharp truths about Bitcoin and its long-term potential. Long-term holders? They've historically always come out on top. Its a game of patience, and its astonishing how many people forget that. But then, theres this whirlwind of temptation with trading. You're right; trading can be like gambling - exhilarating when you win, crushing when you dont. Its not just about luck; its about meticulous strategy, and thats where many fall short.

For newbies, your advice is golden (or should I say, "Bitcoin"?). Delve deep into the crypto world. Understand it, respect it. Bitcoin isnt just some digital fad; its a revolution. When heavyweights like Black Rock throw their hat into the crypto ring, its not for kicks and giggles. They see potential, just as you do. But, and heres the kicker, potential is only realized by those willing to learn and be patient.

I agree with most of the answers, which I would formulate as follows: for most people it is better to simply invest, do Buy and Hold or DCA. It's a simple way to make money with Bitcoin. For trading, it depends, the more short-term the trading is, the more knowledge and control of emotions you have to have to be among the small percentage that make it profitable in the long term, but there is also an interesting point:

Yes. They are not mutually exclusive.

In my opinion they can be combined but trading in the medium term as a minimum, which would be to take advantage to buy more in bear markets and sell at specific times in bull markets, not to be buying and selling all day long.

It all depends on your ability to trade. If you have the analytical skills to trade, you can trade and invest in Bitcoin at the same time. You can get two benefits: increasing the number of Bitcoins or stablecoins.

But to trade in Bitcoin, you must have patience because spot trading cannot expect to sell at a high price immediately. Sometimes, we have to wait a few days before we can sell at a high price. But if the Bitcoin market is bull-run, you can sell at a high price.

Trading Bitcoin can be done in the short, medium, and long term. However, it depends on the Bitcoin market situation because the Bitcoin market cannot always rise continuously. We have experienced that the Bitcoin market was in a sideways position some time ago, so we must wait until the price increases before selling it.

But if you doubt your trading abilities, it is better to choose the investment. Buying and holding Bitcoin will be better for you and you can use the DCA method to invest in Bitcoin.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

As a beginner, investing and holding is better than trading when your knowledge is zero. You can combine both if you have enough time for them, you don't have to choose just one and no one is forcing you to do that. Divide your capital in half to hold bitcoin and the other half for daily trading or divide it in the ratio you feel is right for you. Personally, I don't spend all my time on the market so I just hold and the rest of the time I work on my businesses. Whether you hold or trade, don't just depend on the market, always have a job with outside income that will be good for your investments.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.
When investing or trading in Bitcoin, you have to take risks. Because both investing and trading are risky. But investing is less risky than trading.  Investing in Bitcoin requires you to be patient and hold for a long time. If the market dips a bit by investing, you can't get restless, trust Bitcoin and hold for a long time. If you don't hold for a long time, you won't be able to earn much profit. But to do trading you need to understand the market. Many people think that trading is very easy but actually it is very difficult if you have no knowledge about the market. It may be that you can be damaged by wrong trading. If you have good knowledge about trading then you can do trading. Finally I would say investing in Bitcoin is better than trading.

It's better to invest for the long term if you don't have comprehensive knowledge about trading because you might end up losing your capital if you mess up with the wrong moves. in order to be a successful trader you need to go through a lot of trial and error and you need a lot of money from that because it needs personal experience in order to catch up and learn the movement of the price and how trading works in the crypto market. therefore, you can just simply invest and hold for the long term and at the same time, read some basic knowledge regarding trade.

Investing doesn't mean you will just hold a currency or crypto; it still requires analysis and knowledge. why? Investing in or holding a cryptocurrency is not just buying and waiting to earn. No, that's not it. You will first need to know if this price is the right price to buy or if this is the right time to buy and hold. What if you buy bitcoin at a certain price but it doesn't go well? There's a right timing and certain point perfect to buy and hold a coin. So both investing and trading require knowledge and analysis; it's just that they have different levels. Well, it depends on the person's reference to what they can do and what they want to do. But for me, it has the same risk and a lot of profit potential. For me, I do both trading for short-term earnings and investing or holding for long-term earnings.
We need to understand well what we will choose before doing it so that we don't experience losses in investing or trading. If we can do these two things then we will be able to get profits from the investments and trades we make, but investing certainly takes a long time. to be able to make a profit and in trading, if we can analyze the market well, of course we will easily get a profit from the trades we make. Yes, you are right, in every investment or trade there is a risk of making a profit or losing, so we have to be very careful in doing so.

It is better to HoDL than trade BTC as a new comer or newbie, because the intricacies of trading is such that unless one has understood it before joining this forum, one has to learn and understand and observe the strategies being used by those ahead of us to trade and earn efficiently as well as as one who maintained a HoDL stand over a duration of Time.
Keeping the coins or HoDlings safe is another practice that may require the right guide to ascertain and dicipher the best trading savings tools/wallet to use.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

If you want to trade Bitcoin and are new to this kind of business, you will need to learn about Bitcoin trading in the space. It means that there is a correct process because if you start the wrong process here, you probably won't get a good profit here in Bitcoin. In short, if you're a beginner, it's inevitable that you'll try to trade even if you don't know anything, and you'll just base your trading on chance or chance analysis.

So it's better if you know that you don't know anything about it. You should invest in the meantime, so that at least you won't have any hassle and worry. Just hold it for the long term and wait for the right time. To sell it, you can earn Bitcoin for sure while you learn it.

99% of traders lose money in the long run. Everyone thinks they can outsmart the market, but most end up losing their shirt.
Sure there are a few who make good money as day traders. But for every one that makes money there are a hundred others who lose money.

In short, trading is dumb. Your odds of making money trading are worse than if you gambled your money in a Vegas casino.

Both have pros, and cons, and you already said some of them like the risks of doing both.

It's a subjective thing knowing that not all can do trading, and at the same time, not all have the patience to hold Bitcoins for quite some time. Some are doing investing alone, and will just hold Bitcoin. Some are trading since they're good at it, while there are some who are doing both of them because they're capable to.

Overall, it will depend on you OP on which suits best for you. You can try them both if you want to since holding especially with Bitcoin doesn't require that much research compare to when you want to trade where you need to make some research, and analysis. Good luck OP... I guess.

Investing is long-term and involves low risk, while trading is short-term and involves high risk. Both methods can be profitable if the right strategy is adopted.
How big the risk will depend on the knowledge and experience of the investors/traders. Although investment is safer, it can be riskier if we don't have enough knowledge about it. Moreover, if we has a lack of experience in crypto investment. Meanwhile, trading can be safer if we know well how to trade properly. There are many day traders that can gain profits almost every day, they know how to gain profits effectively although the profits aren't really big.

Well, method will be adopted/applied based on the knowledge of the investors/traders. That's why it is required sufficient knowledge to know the wright method/strategy to apply.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.
Both are good, many people do both investment and trading together. I think we don't need to choose which one is the best.
If we trade Bitcoin besides we invest in Bitcoin, we can get profits daily/weekly. We don't need to wait for few years to get profits. So, we don't feel bored to wait for the profits from Bitcoin investment only.

Which one is better if I want to invest and trade bitcoins.

Everyone has their preference and wants, and of course, the level of their understanding and capabilities.
I, therefore, chose to invest because I knew in myself that I was not really good at trading. Though sometimes I do this but with limited time only as I thought that the more I trade, the more I make mistakes and losses.

While investing, I can sure myself that can certainly make a profit. That is why I don't make myself hard so I choose where I have confidence and where I can perform so well.

No doubt that investing is better. As you have said that it requires lower risk and you're for the long term and that's the type I am. Time will come that I have to trade the Bitcoins that I am holding for long term so that's the next move. We all need to trade Bitcoins for us to experience the profit from it because if we don't, value might get lower when we're in the bull run and we will miss the time of profiting. That is the reason why you need to trade when you are in profit, when you're done in long term and you've got that much already. Then, you can practice trading whether it's with Bitcoins or altcoins of your choice because you're just gonna do it care free and you're fine doing it without nothing to worry about because you've already made profit from your long term hold.

Investment is a form of trading. Everything boils down to you. Your available time? The profit you aiming for and the project you dealing with. For example holding Bitcoin for a long term is profitable bit same can't be said about most altcoins. I believe Any is better based on the project and your targets.
