No it is very riskly and you are likely to lose or be scam because you do not know the person outside this forum. So, better is use this forum and use escrow if possible, you will never be scammed. Keep in mind that this forum do not modearting any scam or possible scam.

I would not be so negative about the telegram, if you follow the simplest rules of security, then no scammers will get you.
Just trade directly to legit exchanges so that no one will get scammed.

As mentioned above, telegram is place of most of the scammers unless it's an official telegram channel for the exchange that you use but it's more of a support channel not a place to trade. There's no security on it.

I am a very experienced person about getting scammed through telegram. I got scammed 8 or 10 times around 5 ETH till now .
So you can see 5 tips from me just down below. so may be I can say each point is worth for me like 1 ETH price.

1-First of all if someone says that who founds you from forum, first try to verify his user from here. If there is an insist about not giving the nickname in here, just make a block this user on telegram, most probably scammer.
2-He/she may give his forum name and can say telegram name found in profile, please verify it again through a pm over forum. Don't trust telegram name verification. He/she may try to make a similar fake name like usin smal L (l) instead of I ,etc.
3-Escrow is also a protection but you should make your trade rules very clear. For instance buyer send first, checking period or some other clarifications can be very helpful.
4-If you haven't make this kind of trade before please try to learn how can be done from here. Like now you did with reading this message. For instance it can be a first time telegram trade or it can be a first time ERC721 token trade or something else you haven't trade before. There can be some special points .
5-This is the last one for this message but also it is not a certain thing but most of time it is true. If buyer/seller is writing so much thing in telegram like writing subjects about trust, just go away. That is actually the smell of a scam for me when someone writes about trust just before trade.

Hope these 5 point can be helpful for all not even newbies in forum also someone who haven't try something like that before.

Telegram is heaven for scammers . If you're new to crypto, a little greedy & dont know what to do it's possible to scam.

Some examples of today's scammer groups . They're using Binance,Okex,Bitmart vs names . Adding fake members showing real tx to scam people.

Most of the users have telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok? Or it's more likely to get scammed when using outsource of the forum to trade?

Ofcourse, you can trade on telegram and in any platform you want.
The question is, "Is is safe to trade in telegram?".

All I can say is, it depends on the person you are transacting with.
Check if the account of the person you are transacting with is old and trusted. Otherwise, don't trade.
Be smart enough to determine a scammer from not. Sometimes you can search his username through the internet and you may get some information about him.

There are many scammers everywhere in any platform. Just be careful always.
As much as possible hire a trusted Escrow in every transaction you will do to avoid any problematic situations.

It is not safe unless you're very sure of what you doing or who you are trading with. It will be safer if you use an escrow service of very trusted person to facilitate the deal if you have to trade on telegram.

For all the time I was on the Internet, I only 1 time bought the goods through telegram. And this purchase was not too expensive it is firstly and secondly the person with whom I made the deal was recommended to me by my friend. My answer-you can only trade with confidence in the person with whom you want to make a deal.Trust is the key to success. In any other situation I would not recommend anyone to trade via telegram.

I would not use Telegram for trading in your place. It's hard for me to even imagine. It's good that someone described here the group of scammy cheaters who publish fake signals on Telegram. I use only a Telegram to read about the crypto and exchange opinions on the channels of traders' communities.

Most of the users have telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok?

Depends on the level of security measures you both are going to adhere, and when the party asks you to go first and says a 'NO' when you ask to go for an escrow, it's likely going to be a scam. It's better if you do it through a medium of exchange rather than going for telegram, as the scammer will also have the option to "delete their account" immediately after they succeed in their intentions.

Most of the users have telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok? Or it's more likely to get scammed when using outsource of the forum to trade?

I agee with others that you can get scammed by individuals in telegram or even here.
the only adequate and secure way is to use an exchange platfrom. yes, you will have to pay some commission as spread or whatever but you will be sure that the transaction is secure.

OP can do secure trades over Telegram as well, as there are escrows here who can be a part of such deals. But the only thing you need to do is, PM escrows instead of asking them publicly here as most users try to create fake profiles with almost same username of escrow here too and try to scam people by watching such public messages and then replying the user who may become their possible victim. Escrows also charge a fee the way you mentioned for exchanges, and are a good way for deals over telegram, but yeah, I'm against direct deals there.

How can you trade on the telegram? Only get the information and signal from some newbie attraction channel
Yeah,i think that's what the OP meant to say,it seems he or she has been messaged randomly by someone offering this or that form of direct trade between them, and this happens regularly on telegram, even to me, I tend to delete such messages immediately and most times I go ahead to report spam
I suggest the OP does the same, or if he or she feels they want to partake in the trade, its best they put into effect the safety measures that's been dished out on this thread from day one

in General, this method is considered fraud. I think it is better to trade only on well-known exchanges and tested through a lot of people. otherwise, you can lose your capital and burn out. think before you cooperate with someone

What are you going to trade on Telegram? A physical goods? Digital Information? If you are referring to Cryptocurrency, there's a lot of trusted crypto exchanges online. Please do not attempt to do crypto trading on social medias or p2p without using an Escrow for security purposes. You may want to search on Google for some legit crypto exchanges.

Online trading and other activities are easily associated with scams so you can easily be scammed online and not just on telegram. There are credible escrows around to help issues. There are equally genuine people who are doing honest trading on telegram so you need to research carefully before you join any group for trading purposes.

There are a lot of scammers in telegram, it's better to trade in this forum.
You can use the service of the trusted member here for an escrow, it's safer if you have third party, but if you can make him send first, then there's nothing to discuss.

Trade in the telegram? how? do you mean getting a trading signal? Or Do you mean sending your money to other to manage your money or account? If you clear your query then it will be more easy to answer. However, be careful from a scammer. Trade yourself that will be a good decision.

I think the best way to trade is to do this on exchanges. And are a lot of legit exchanges: binance, bittrex, kucoin, poloniex, cryptopia and much more. I never get scammed on this exchanges and i also activated 2fa for more security. And if you refer to trade signals on telegram stat away from them.

You can follow a channels signals but test them on a demo account at first, it you are in profit for 2 weeks then you've found yourself a good channel, else most of them are just scams luring you into investing in their own platform or sign up for a signal vip that will make you lose more than you win.

No It’s not okey to trade on telegram. Because in telegram you can easily change your name and also you can change your username. So I think it is totally risky to trade on telegram. My question is why you trade on telegram? There are many pretty much good trading platform here. You can choose any of them and start trading.

Doing trade on telegram its not safe and secure. If you really want to trade then create an account on any good trading platform. You can teade easily in those platform. So why you want to trade on telegram. It is not good idea to trade on telegram. Never trade on telegram.

You can not be sure of anything when you are talking about cryptocurrency trading. There are no regulators, there is no third party interested in fair trade. All risk is your risk and no one else.
Even if you go to trade on a popular exchange (Binance, Poloniex) you can lose your money.
But what about the telegram. It seems strange to me,  because we have more easy ways to trade.

As you said "most" of the users here have telegram Im sure not just most but "all", and also there are some scammers here in the forum that use telegram to trick other people because their identity is not verified on telegram and they can freely scam people without getting known by anyone.

So basically trading on telegram is the most risky way of trading. Always remember that legitimate bounty admin will not send you "PM" first just to invest on their project. Keep safe  Smiley

I don't encourage anybody to conduct trading on telegram platform because that is the platform where scammers operate and you can lose your money without any refund. Even through i have heard of many telegram platforms where most people are trading on some telegram platforms with successful trading system i just don't encourage it because the risk ratio is very high.

You and the party you are trading with do not need anyone else, and can work via Telegram or whatever. However you are taking on risks that could be avoided using a licensed exchange.  If you do it yourself and someone rips you off... Well, you have no recourse to get your money back. So if trust is an issue, use an exchange.

I recommend to trade with people on Telegram only with people who you know personally, and you are sure they won't scam you.

On my experience Telegram is so full of scammers that I strongly suggest against doing any trade on it with unknown people.

If you don't want to use exchanges to avoid giving your personal information, then you can choose from any exchange that doesn't require KYC (for example Cryptopia)

Edit: added bolded text

I have seen some legit groups on Telegram where members of the Team of the project will offer escrow, this is about the only case I would trade with a stranger.

Otherwise, I agree with you 100%

As I know scam on telegram pretty much, how to recognize this?

If the scam is too good to be true (good bonus etc...) or if the scammer asks for you to make the first move/insists you use trade using a 3rd-party service he "knows" then you can treat that as a "Better safe than sorry situation" and leave it alone.

Yes telegram is one of the best means of communicating both parties for trading purposes even the escorow service provider will had to invite the buyer and seller to have a negotiations. This for noe is the easiest way to do it. But, if forum applies to have a live chat then it could be easier and a lot way better than doing negotiations in the telegram.
I would not go for a trade on Telegram, there are so many scammers and it's easy for them to fake any account. The scammer can impersonate whoever he wants and arrange a faked escrow or anything else. Telegram has lots of good functions to stay anonymous. It's good for every user, but scammers can abuse it very easily, unfortunately.
If you are planning to trade peer to peer I can recommend Bitcointalk. But you have to be careful who is your trading partner. Is he already tagged red or has red untrusted feedback for being a scammer? Does he have positive feedback? (be carefully, also positive feedback can be faked). Would he risk his account being tagged red for scamming you?
If you are not sure I always recommend to use a trusted escrow:

In my Country, if want to safe trade. You need Third Person for fees. Example if you want to buy in other user, you must pay your money in the third person, then the Seller will send you that token/coin. If you recieve that token/coin, the third person will send your money to Seller.

If what you mean by trading on Telegram is what I think you mean which is peer-to-peer exchanging of coins, then i wouldn't advise anyone to do that.
You better use the popular exchanges like Paxful to trade.

But if you actually meaning buy/sell speculation trade like its done on Binance, then Telegram isn't a bad platform to do such as long as you are using a legitimate service. This, I wouldn't advise beginners to do but only traders that have done their homework and are comfortable using custom tools like bots to trade.

I would highly recommend avoid doing any trading via Telegram. Telegram is plagued with fake accounts mimicking the details of admins of Telegram groups for altcoins, ICOs etc. trying to get money/crypto off you. I highly recommend ESCROW to act as a safeguard and middle man to ensure that the transaction goes through smoothly and without risk.

Better being safe than sorry.  Wink

Trading should be done on exchanges but still it has it own risk but they are on the limit especially with top exchanges.

I will never advice trading on social media or any platform expect with the involvement of an escrow and they must be trusted

Most of the users have telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok? Or it's more likely to get scammed when using outsource of the forum to trade?

The problem is the trust, who will send the coins first? or let me change the question, who will run with the coins first?

The only possible way to trade on a platform like telegram would be with a man in the middle, and that doesn't warrant that man will not run with both users coins. So the risk of doing that is enormous, just a terrible idea.

Like what the 2nd poster has said you cam trade their but not by a program or customized chat bot but with other people asking for trades. You can save money because there are no commissions involved unlike exchanges but you will have a hard time finding a match on what you are offering and of course the chances of you being scammed is also high. I would suggest that going to a well reputable exchange is the best option for you as you are a newbie, direct trading is not noob friendly and a lot of people will try to scam you once they know that they can outsmart you.

As I know scam on telegram pretty much, how to recognize this?
The best thing to do is to stay away from trading on telegram or following the guidelines provided by people on Telegram. The pre-emptive move, if you decide to explore it regardless, is to read through the numerous scam cases documented by users both within and outside of this forum. In this same thread you have some referenced threads to read and understand the perils and the cases that one fall for, but if you search around you’ll find many more.

What usually happens is that one enters a Telegram group innocently (or whatnot), acting as a complete newbie to it all, thinking that he has found a friendly hand, only to find that he has walked into a den of thieves and ends up getting skin. Nothing different to real life…

Most of the users have a telegram here and they ask to trade there? Is this ok? Or it's more likely to get scammed when using outsourcing of the forum to trade?

Trading on Telegram is not an easy one because of lack of trust. Very few of the trade has come through for those who manage to the risk.  So many people have fall victim of been scammed. I have done a few of them using www.freelancer.com as an intermediary between me and the person. Freelancer is a well known and trusted site where workers and employers meet to arrange for work or task and payment so that there will not be a bridge of agreement at the end of the day. It allows both of you to open an account, the employer will transfer its money to the site for payment of task done after due assessment of the work. If there is any bridge of agreement you can raise a dispute for the site to release your money to you.

No trade is risk free really. This forum used to have a very active "minimarket" based on reputation, escrow and a few other built in mechanism... trust, etc... Telegram does not give you anything like this.

Telegraph transactions must be based on mutual trust, as OTC transactions will not be protected and you may lose your money at any time!

Where you trade doesn't really matter, it's how you trade and the measures taken while trading,it could be on the forum,on telegram or even facebook, but the other party must and should have a bitcoin talk account
And you'll do yourself good to scrutinize the account thoroughly, going through the feedbacks and trust rating...
If it hasn't gotten any blemish, then you can carry out the transaction with a third party trusted escrow service that'll be the umpire in the transaction...

If the account has numerous negative feedback/red trust, you can abstain from the transaction, but If you must go on with it, make sure you use the escrow service(Trusted)

The risk of been scammed on Telegram is high and I would not advise you trade on it. There are reputable and trusted exchange out there that you can trade on either fiat to crypto or crypto to crypto.

Only 2 situations that will happen and 1 solution. First, you may get scammed and lose your profit if the other party is thinking that s/he will scam you and you won't get anything. Second, you may trade successfully traded with or without help from escrow service. The one solution is always use a trusted and well known escrow service when you're trading if you really want to be safe from possible scams that might/will happen to you. It doesn't matter where you trade whether this forum, telegram or social medias like facebook and twitter.

at the beginning using telegram was quite easy and helpful for getting news, being updating, trading and following the projects i liked. Lately i have found myself on channels that are only scam, absolutely useless and so i do not feel safe to trade on telegram since i do not have any security on the trading.
i have been using Binance, kraken and Kucoin moinstly. tried poloniex and hyobi as well, but the first three i find myself more comfortable.
to do the cash out i use Coinbase Pro with has less, almost no fees, of course, any platform has pro and contra and you have to try and find the one you feel better

as i know telegram is usually used for trading by people who just need BTC right now to pay for smth - like you buy on one of bestexchange websites. But there is no protection for user - you can get scamed very easy. So better trade on market to protect yourself from loosing money by scammers

It doesn't matter what platform you do do your trades on it only matters who you do it with.
Can you tell us more about the kind of trades you want to get involved in?
Were you contacted by individuals asking for contributions/investments with promises of high rewards on telegram? In that case it is not safe to get involved with such individuals.

Make sure the person you want to trade with has an account here and not just claiming to have an account. Tell him to PM you with the telegram ID where the trade will be done. That way you gave written proof in case something goes wrong, he will be tagged/banned.
Always keep logs of your conversations especially relating to addresses.

Keep away from self-moderated threads UNLESS the owner is trusted and has a higher rank. Remember in self-moderated threads the creator can easily delete the posts he/she doesn't like.

Use an escrow if there is a lot of money involved, check the marketplace and services section for escrows. If the person you are dealing with doesn't want to use an escrow it is not a good sign.

Always make sure to check the reputation of the user and if he has been involved with or accused of scamming in the past.

I'm not sure what the trade is exactly, but I have a thread I use to assist people with their [WTS] ads. It's also good for buyers as it gives them an idea of what to look for. [WTS] advice

One of my tips is to continue discussion out in the open on the forum, it doesn't have to be all the details but a clear image that an agreement has been made. Makes it easier to prove who has been wronged should something go awry.

Generally people with hacked/stolen/or throwaway accounts (newbie/jr. member) want to do this as it's easier to run a scam off site. With something like telegram they have the opportunity to make you feel rushed or pressured I have found.

Regardless of what's involved I communicate on forum and use forum escrow. I would suggest taking some time to go through the marketplace check out the stickied topics, and different sections like goods and currency exchange. These areas will give you an idea of best practices.

Any kinds of trades can be done possibly at any platforms.

What you must have is, be attentive and cautious at all time. Used your common sense to analyzed things and don't be easily fooled with such words.

To sort your concern, do you already have some list of examples of groups where trades are done?

<...>
Take a look at some simple threads on the matter at hand:

Telegram bot - scam
New Telegram Scam!!
Telegram Scam Group "Bitmex free signals" @Peter806 @Andrew012
BEWARE: Telegram Scam
Telegram scam
Beware: scam (?) telegram group

Those are just a few examples of scam accusations made here on the forum related to Telegram. Some are straight forward one to one scams (i.e. send me xx BTC and I will give you yy BTC after a few days), whilst others are group Pump and Dump scams that will make you lose a fair share in benefit of the promoters.

The Forum is no guarantee at all either, although you can feel a bit safer if the account you trade with has a high trust value (Trust is a forum feature, see Marketplace trust). You need to be very wary at all times, and it should deem much safer using the exchanges and then keeping your crypto of a device such as Ledger Nano S or Trezor.

What kind of trade you are pertaining to? Collectibles?Goods?Services?

Trade in general is quite big, so I'm just guessing in a way that you are pertaining in Crypto trading. First of all, Do not trust anyone in this industry especially in this forum, a lot would definitely try to scam you in every possible way same goes with any other social media tools, including Telegram.

There are trading platform sites which are legit, just care to research about some of it. Well, as per my personal experience I do trade using this sites.
1. Bittrex
2. Binance
3. Poloniex
4. Coins.ph - Trading platform

Other than that, Never ask someone to make trade for you. I'm 100% sure that you'll regret it.

For the form of trade, Let say collectibles and etc. Normally some of the sellers here (which has a history of good transactions) do use of any form of social media tool to communicate with you privately and consistently to conduct the deal, hence, like @coyster said be careful on whom you are conducting trade with a green trust member is highly advisable and somehow rank do matter in this point. Avoid dealing with newbie rank member, there's a high possibility that you'll get scammed.

I hope this answers your question.

The risk of you getting scammed on telegram on any other social media platform are very high. One telegram is a social media platform that is not liable for any cryptocurrency scammed related offenses that is to say if you get duped on that platform you are solely on your own.

Many users or on the platform that quite correct and it mostly used by icos project, bounty hunters managers and many more crypto related activities. So tuning a trade on that platform even with an escrow can be catastrophic on the long run. Is best to trade on the correct platforms like exchanges and probably if you want to do peer to peer transcation employ a reputable escrow with over 100 positive trust level

You can trade directly with individuals on any platform,be it this forum or on telegram, thats not what matters the most..

What is of utmost importance is that when you're trading directly with an individual, its always pertinent and germane to use an escrow(TRUSTED)service that'll act as a third party in the transactions,so in case anything goes wrong you'll not be losing your money..

But take note that user rank on the forum does not emit trust, the 3rd party must be reputable on the forum and his trust rating must show that as well

Go through those links and you shouldn't have much of a problem completing your transaction
