It's nearly impossible for one to live without the bank, but I believe one can do without it, for example in the rural areas/villages 99% of them don't even own a bank account, nor are there any bank building around them, but they go on with their daily lives buying /exchange goods and services, also even in the third tier countries where the employers don't pay thier employees through the bank rather they hand cash to the employees at the end of the month.

yes, but living means of having basic needs but banks is not a basic need. We can live with or without it. I am not quite sure how one make an assessment on why they became so dependent on banking system where in fact before the bank we had already made the best system using the fiat currency. Banks were there just a option on handling huge money to transfer.

Besides, it is the banks were the reason why there is so much inflation with the fiat system. They allowed to print many as possible fiat money with the same value as the economy of that certain country. So the greater fiat it will be thr lesser its capacity to buy or exchange for something. This is the reason of high inflation rate.

My thoughts about this is no as we can see banks also find ways so they not left behind as the economy and technology are evolving. Some banks create app so can open the online banking to transact. We can't live without banks because not all have ability to transact online, banks is here for decades we cannot erase that.

If cryptocurrency is to be spread everywhere then it is possible because cryptocurrency is not acceptable everywhere. Suppose you get paid in cryptocurrency for what you have done, but what do you do when you go to a hotel to buy food? So in the current context we need real currency. So we can't imagine our daily life without banks.
Thats  why mass adoption must happen first before anything else,Banks  has been with us for centuries and same reason why they don't want crypto succeed.

But along the way?we are now progressing and having accepted in many countries and many businesses.
actually Online business now are increasing that's why the chance of acceptance from small people to big businesses are there.
so yeah let us see what happen for the next  years to come.

With the world's economy collapsing, people are looking for alternative safe-haven assets to use in times of turmoil. Interest in crypto has sparked a lot ever since the stock market went on a decline. If people decide to use crypto, precious metals, and physical cash, will it be possible to live a normal life without a bank?

In my case, I'd be willing to exit the banking system in order to have true sovereignty over my money. After all, that's what crypto is all about. If you could live your normal life without the need to ever interact with a bank (having a bank account to make transactions, etc), it'll be a blast. With the world shifting towards the online realm for e-commerce, virtual meetings, and more, it seems likely that people will be using decentralized money more thoroughly. There are still people using credit/debit cards, but that may change soon as Fiat becomes hyper-inflated.

What are your thoughts? Huh
It's possible to live without a bank, then use other alternatives for transactions. for now, there are still many people who cannot do that because we know it is important that the bank can facilitate transactions and get support from the government, even the government has a central bank. I think if a digital currency (cryptocurrency or other types of currency) gets support and many service providers and goods receive it, I will definitely leave the BANK. Because there are policies from banks that are detrimental to users and savings and loans at the bank is a feature that is often sought by the public. Banks still have a big impact at the moment even though we already know that several banks implement policies that are detrimental to users.

That is the fact. Although in some ways bitcoin offers innovations and solutions that cannot be resolved by banks, we still need banks to conduct general transactions. We know that the adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is still not very widespread, facilities and infrastructure are also not fully supported in some areas, apart from that human resources are also not fully ready to accept this evolution.
So I think the two will go hand in hand and complement each other, crypto will be an important alternative for the economic world.

Don't we have cash? Many people live with no banks, using 100% cash transactions. Don't forget that all those places where you can pay with a card also accept cash. You can even buy stuff in the Internet and then go to your local post office and pay for the purchase with cash. I've been in a stituation where the card terminal was unable to connect with the network and the cashier asked if I could pay with cash numerous times in my life, which proves that cash is the more acceptable form of payment.
No banks does not mean no fiat money.

But it is undeniable that the system owned by the bank is indeed prestigious and facilitates our lives all. The bank also continues to make updates to service satisfaction, for example, interstate transfers which usually take 3 days by telex but with SWIFT only take a few hours. I don't imagine how you would pay for your child's tuition in another city or country without a bank account?

No,it is impossible to live without banks in a government that the only currency is a fiat currency that can be use in a daily transaction anywhere. Bitcoins is not yet fully accepted and uses in different countries. Especially those people that live in a remote areas who doesn't know bitcoin or even use new technologies. Banks are the very important establishment that you can store and lend a money.

It is possible to have a living without banks. For the same we need to experience the increase in adoption of cryptocurrencies globally. There are people who have travelled around the world using cryptocurrency instead of fiat. When one can make that possible, surely it is possible to have a living without banks.
We can't think only travel sector. Banks are important in many sector in our life. Yes, we can now use crypto currency as our payment methods but it is not enough for every stage and most of the people aren't familiar with crypto currency. For loan purpose, store money, bond etc, banks are very important.

It may be possible to live without banks. But I don't think that we can live without banking services.

Here in India, the usage of credit cards/debit cards are declining, because the mobile wallets are rapidly replacing them. But still, we need bank accounts to store our money and receive our salary. The mobile wallets can't substitute bank accounts in all the sectors. Also, for investing in stock markets and bonds, you need a demat account from a bank. You can't do that using a mobile wallet. Similarly, you can't take a loan from a mobile wallet.

This is basic questions that are very easy to answer, obviously it is impossible to live without banks. The government requires income from
taxes through banks, also in order to control its population the government needs the presence of banks. Moreover, currently around 98% of
people use banks. So it is impossible to live without banks, ideally we live by using banks and cryptocurrency together.

I doubt this. however, almost all transaction activities will lead to the bank. even the cash you use comes from the world bank. imagine if you don't have that, and only have crypto for now. At this time, not everyone accepts crypto as a medium of exchange, especially in countries where banned crypto is used as a transaction tool, or in places that do not have an internet connection. not only that, many other bank functions that crypto does not currently have.

Exactly. Basically, the bank controls everything. It's practically impossible to live entirely from crypto when adoption for it is still low. As long as Fiat remains the top currency of choice by merchants and businesses alike, I don't see banks going anywhere. Even in these times of turmoil, banks are still relevant. Governments rely on central banks to issue new supply of their own currencies. Things would've been different if countries started using decentralized cryptocurrencies on top of Fiat. But we all know, that's just a dream than anything else.

Both banks and governments play a large role in the world's economy. Crypto may have its own benefits relative to Fiat, but it cannot serve as a replacement to the current monetary system because of the reasons previously mentioned. In the end, people who are passionate about crypto/Blockchain tech will continue to support the decentralized economy while others will use Fiat as usual. Remember, you can live without crypto but not without banks. Sometimes, it's best to live with both of them in order to gain control of your financial life. With many types of assets and currencies available in the free world, there's always a choice for everyone. Just my opinion Smiley

In the present age, it is not possible to do anything without banks. Everything has been updated a lot to the beat of the era. But now many banking systems have been introduced in the villages as well. Maybe except for some remote areas. However, for those of us who work or are students, everything is done through banks.
In my opinion, the banking system is a part of our lives.

This depends on how wealthy your country is.

In our country, despite a lot of people actually getting their salaries from the banks, there are also a lot of people that actually doesn't use the function of banks. But let's be real, this will be developed in the future and I think even the lowest salary being paid might be also sent through banks.

It has been said that the banks have provided no innovations in the last thirty years beyond the provision of ATM machines, everything else they represent is not unique or especially a requirement.   A shop can provide cash if need be, banks have provided secure web sites but that also is possible with 3rd party businesses.   Could argue mortgage provisions but we also know the banks screwed up mortage handling previously too and friendly societies have already provided house buying schemes going back a hundred years.   In the modern economy theres one certain thing banks are being used to do which is propagate central bank policy and by amplifying the monetary base between themselves by the effects of fractional reserve banking.   Thats your one sure reason banks wont be removed from the economy.

I think no because people ever since have already been reliant on the services that banks do provide. Whether it comes on paper money or getting cashless, banks have already adapted into the latest trend of going cashless that is why they have provided credit/debit card as well as going digital that is why there is already online/digital banking which can be access on any gadgets as long as it can be connected on an internet connection.

Lives of people have already been dependent on using bank's services ever since a long time ago so even if we are now on the modern days of getting into digitalization, still people would prefer using banks and they will still patronize all of the goods and services that banks can offer. It is hard to eliminate banks on people's lives because it has already taken an important part of their lives most specially talking about taking good care of their money.
