I guess facebook will adopt blockchain soon as they already deployed a team to research blockchain

Interestingly, in reality, how much do they need for years to implement the blockchain system?

If it gives considerable changes on how one uses the platform then it will be a hit. However knowing the scandals of Facebook regarding data handling, no matter what form or how innovative they can be with the blockchain technology, it still isn't really appealing for those who want more privacy over their personal information. It is possible for them to use or integrate blockchain into whichever application they deem fit because of their great engineers but what bothers me is if there will still be a data security breach from the inside knowing the recent scandals about Facebook and Cambridge Analytica.

Maybe this time they will try to take into account their mistakes. Now, to keep an eye on them after all. True?

Sometimes there are people who claim that the Facebook social network can be downloaded to the blockchain as a distributed application. They believe that the blockchain-project, which they have in their favorites, can be used to place a social network on it.
The most important thing: the delivery of messages should be instantaneous or with a reasonable delay of not more than a few seconds. What's the point in a retarded application?
At the same time, the price of each transaction (and in the case of messaging one user makes hundreds of such transactions every day) will be prohibitively high. And the whole messaging system will become useless. Recall that now the exchange of messages in Facebook and other social networks is completely free. Users are not ready to pay for messages on the Internet, this is the whole point of the Internet!

How do you like the idea? Is it real? Would you use it?

Messenger’s David Marcus is going to run it." https://www.recode.net/2018/5/8/17329696/facebook-blockchain-crypocurrency-david-marcus-crypto-messenger-app  Facebook is diving headfirst into the blockchain and not only Facebook now all the big companies are studying the blockchain because it is the future of technology!

Oh, then we expect to develop Facebook?

in my opinion some sort of centralization on these types of social media platform is needed so that some authority can manage things and prevent the platform from turning into a spam fest!
imagine a decentralized facebook where everyone could post anything anywhere they wanted. it would be filled with spams of all kinds like refereal link spams, scams,...

it is possible to do. steem tried it and failed because they ended up centralizing the platform itself.

Why would someone use a Social Network that costs them money? That doesn't make any sense to me.
Besides, the network would never be able to take the load if all the messages sent every minute are sent in the blockchain as transactions. We have already seen some very big network jams in the past due to high number of transactions which were in thousands, and if those transactions are in billions, I doubt the network would even be able to move for a sec.

It wouldn't make much sense to upload Facebook to the blockchain. We already have some alternatives like Steemit with no censorship and you can make some profit from writing posts on it.
