I agree we need more emojis or at least an update in the current emojis because they look outdated and too simple right now.
Outdated compared to the brand new SMF forum software from 2006-2009? Call me old-fashioned, but I see no reason to change something that works. I would rather see more topics where I go wow, what an unbelievable post, rather than having this place turned into a smiley fest. Mobile compatibility is the first thing I would focus on. There is a problem that needs some fixing even though many users say they don't mind browsing the forum from their smartphone, but the experience is really bad.

How am I meant to adequately poo-poo someone's idea without a pile of poop emoji? 💩
LOL.  My feelings exactly.

I am no fan of emojis and rarely use them, not on this forum, not on my phone, not anywhere.  They were cool back in 1997 when I started to use the internet regularly, but they're just silly to me now.  But that's just me--if other members want to use them (and want a wider variety), why not?  On the other hand, as pointed out by BlackHatCoiner, LoyceV, and Charles-Tim, there are ways to insert emojis that aren't necessarily available from the forum.

I think they can be helpful in certain scenarios to denote things like humour and sarcasm (which is often hard to detect over the internet) but they're really becoming overused especially with Gen Z. I have friends or know people who send me text messages and sometimes they're hard to decipher because they're so poorly spelled or littered with abbreviations and emojis I have to spend a few moments trying to decipher them and it's only going to get worse. I don't mind a smiley face or such and I use them every now and again but the younger generation really do seem to be communicating in the majority of emojis and tend to to employ them over speech whenever they can.

Emoji are powerful and unique pictorial representation use for communication between people existing in the same ecosystem. It help helps convey message in an easy and simple pattern. It's good idea demanding for more useful emoji. This will ease people from writing long story

Emoji has a wide use to any ecosystem as this help members of the communities to communicate effectively. This is one of the features that's most common to most social media platform. I urge the mod to give this topic favourable consideration.

I agree we need more emojis or at least an update in the current emojis because they look outdated and too simple right now. Although on a second thought I feel like that's the beauty of bitcointalk and the lesser use of emojis is what keeps the forum more serious and discussions are not turned into jokes. Sometimes having too many smileys can be a problem especially when we are using them at a forum like bitcointalk where almost all the senior community members talk with each other.

I also agree with @loyceV that we can always embed images when needed so the lack of smileys is not a concern and big thanks to @BlackHatCoiner and others for making me aware of the hidden ones, somehow I wasn't aware of them yet.

Since the time i am using bitcointalk, we have the same number of Emojis in the compose section.
If you look at other applications like Whatsapp / telegram etc, they offer so many more choices of Emojis but in here we have only these few Emojis .

Is it time to increase these Emojis ?

I do not even use Emoji in here due that the mostly thread in bitcointalk was very serious. For me it's better to have that emoji only cause in my observation from any social media that a lot of emoji that they can choose to post indicate in their object , some how they can choose bad emoji or not good to expressed. So it's better to have a less emoji in my part.

I don't even use them in here, but I use to use them in other places. It use to do me as if it is against the rule to use them here. Since it is not against the rule I think I will start to use them to arrangement my posts or comments.  Cool Cool Cool
I think it is cool but I did not see love emoji.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you have been living a lie, and it's time you found out the truth. The poop emoji is just a copy of the ice cream cone emoji. They are the same, but one is white and the other is chocolate or poopish in color. I know, it's hard to digest. Cry
There's a very thin line between ice cream and poop.  And keep in mind that the end result of eating ice cream is evident in your toilet about 16-24 hours later.

I use default Google keyboard. When I type it, it appears on reply area, butvas you can see in image below, it's not visible when I click Preview or Post button:

Same, but now I know what's the problem and how to solve it.

Emojis will appear if you enable Quick Reply and preview the post, but will disappear if you preview the post again.

So don't preview them and you'd be fine.

That's strange, they should be natively supported. What keyboard are you using?

This is a community that is meant for contribution, suggestions and development of cryptocurrency, i believe that this platform don't really need emojis, because the cryptocurrencies has their personal symbol which can be use in place of emojis, from my perspective i seen emojis like symbol use for personal conversations such as WhatsApp and Facebook, so I don't think it will be necessary to apply numerous emojis here, Even those we have is enough to use, ok if i may ask what are the important of emails.

OP, I quite get your drift on that. Sometimes I had had the intention of using certain emojis but didn't find them on BTT. I was able to solve that issue as an Android user by installing Kika Keyboard from playstore. That way you get any type of emoji you need to insert in your post.

Its time consuming if you embed images in place of Emojis.
No.[1]

Create your own emojis, if necessary to convey your ideas with greater potential.

[1] emoji is a click, (image) the other is a copy and paste, you just have to have it txt file.

What I do think is important is that the emojis in the forum should be orange and not yellow.

This is simply just a really really minor thing that I don't think it matters. Especially knowing that some people like using an unnecessary amount of emoticons on their posts.

Also, Windows 10, OSX, and Linux has Emoji support in the first place. Why need to integrate them into Bitcointalk?

Well, personally i didn't know how to add additional emojis in windows 10 from my laptop. There is a way to post Emojis from mobile but using bitcointalk from mobile is a hectic work.

Who needs emojis, when you can just Image loading...embedImage loading... images?

Its time consuming if you embed images in place of Emojis.

Only reason I would want emojis is so that I can post some copy-pastas.

If you are looking at potential plagiarism, you should strip out things like punctuation and emojis prior to reviewing. It would probably also be good to filter out stopwords, but that can be expensive.

I do agree with the OP. I think this is a very important upgrade and Theymos should promptly devote maximum resources to allow for additional emoticons, preferably before the new forum software is implemented.

Implanting additional emojis will result in additional page views 📺, which will result in additional advertising revenue 💲, which will allow the forum to invest in toilet paper 🧻 futures. This will be the key 🔑 to making sure bitcoin will be successful 📶, and not like the bathroom 🚻, and the price will go up 💹 really high🪂, and the g he haters will be silenced 🔕, so it will be the end 🔚, of CSW claiming to be satoshi 🔬, and so Covid 🦠 can be stopped.  It will also make the forum a magnet 🧲 for fans of emojis 🕯, and tools 🛠 to communicate without words.

Maybe I wouldn't mind to have all these emojis, but I'm not sure that's really needed. Sometimes I miss few emojis that I often use when chatting. But it's not must have thing. Emojis may help to make your post more lively, but like on social media, some people tend to overuse it and then text becomes difficult to read. Also, with high number of emojis, forum may become to load slower.
I use Android for this, and as commented in previous posts above that there are ways you can go about it on computers.
How did you made it? I tried to type emojis from my Android keyboard, but it's not displayed after I type it.

That's strange, they should be natively supported. What keyboard are you using?

I wanna make this a copy pasta. Permission pls hilarious-senpai 👉👈 uwu 😩😳😫😻

This is one of the most important suggestions for the forum in the last 5 years. Without emojis how are we meant to communicate efficiently? How am I meant to adequately poo-poo someone's idea without a pile of poop emoji? 💩 How am I meant to display sheer shock and awe without the eye lips eye face 👁👄👁. How am I meant to simp or express my utter attraction for someone without multiple heart eyes emojis 😍😍😍. How would I ever initiate sex without the fingerbang emoji 👉👌. How would I ever know someone is horny and wants the D without the cipher of the eggplant emoji 🍆. It's just too important of a feature and theymos needs to get with the times ASAP otherwise I fear it's only a matter of time before we lose the ability to communicate.

But yeah, some emojis would be nice. I could see it go horribly wrong here however, but shouldn't be a deal breaker.

I only really find them effective when your being particularly sarcastic, since that's pretty hard to convey over the internet, and through text. This also goes for anything which your saying in jest, but could potentially be interpreted as serious. Maybe, I'm getting old, and I'm just not that fun to be around anymore, but I tend to only use them when texting, and rarely on discussion based platforms.

It's cool, the interpretations of emojis are subjective. Some justify the usage since it's akin to expressing facial emotions because text is simply... text. I'm one of them, as I perceive them to make the conversation more light-hearted.

Words can also be used as a substitute too.
