Is it true that the market usually rises before the end of the year?
If so, why do you think it happens?
I spoke with few people that already said that in the last 5 years the market became really bulish
pull out a chart and see for yourself. the market was very bearish in late 2011 and 2014. it was sideways in late 2012. the price
did noticeably rise in q4 the last few years---2015, 2016, and 2017.
you might say this kind of rise happens more often than not, but i wouldn't say it's a slam dunk. plus, the data is very limited. i only have charts going back to 2010.
also, context is important. we just had a bubble, blow off top---whatever you want to call it---in december 2017. we had similar bubbles that ended in june 2011 and december 2013. you'll note that 2011 and 2014 ended negatively. i don't think that's a coincidence.
