If your using GPU/CPU it is going to be hard to make a profit.  Sadly the day's where you could go out and buy video cards with a time frame on ROI is gone most likely gone forever.

The amount of electricity used and heat extraction needed when you run a good amount of cards just is hard to do.  If you somehow had a super low electricity rate sure it could be, but very few probley have this.

In my case ASIC is still profitable I am lucky to have decently priced electricity with lot's of space.  I can see that is something not everyone has sadly.  Hosting is a option aswell.

The hard part is the pump/dump of coins currently most alt coins are very low considering.  It is far easier to ROI on a bitcoin miner for myself then Scryt asic.  Just becuse of how much more accurate I can predict my return.  Currently with my Scrypt I can't near as accuratly pick ROI date.  This has caused current buy's to go twords straight bitcoin miners.

I'm hoping we and think we will see alt coin's go up (not all some are not great coins).  Just when I don't think anyone can predict.

those days are gone, mining is not profitable any more, and will not be in the future.
You see Dev of coins already distribuing coins on  other ways exept mining. There is a reason for that.

I hope it is still profitable, I am just starting to learn about it. How about auto mining?

ROI is very difficult at current situation , if you are interested in mining, do proper research before investing money. Mining has been becoming more and more professional lately.

Monero should be still profitable, even with very high electricity costs ( >0.3 cent). You get approximately 0.002 bitcoin per gpu per day.

Even monero is not profitable anymore.

Hard times now but the next boom is coming soon which will save the miners [again].

What next "boom" ?  Undecided
The same announced on June / July and now scheduled for September ?

Yeah, I know, which I why I gave up making forecasts at all. We really don't know how long the dry spell will end.

It will happen eventually. This time last year my single scrypt rig was making about a dollar a day. At the peak of the doge rally it was making 45 dollars a day. I used all my coins to expand into a farm literally a week before newegg jacked up r9 prices and now im back to making 8-10 dollars a day with 6 rigs.

For comparison, If we have the same growth my farm will make 400 a day at the peak. If....

Yes Smiley Cryptonote/Cryptonight is becoming pretty profitable because you can mine on cpu/gpu. If you have a rig try renting it out for other algorithm on ebay, betarigs or something similiar. Or you can always play videogames and post "letplays" on youtube (awesome!).

SSHH!!!

I prefer to make fake artist accounts on youtube and post their videos.  I have at least 100k views per video.  Easy money!!!

Is it really that easy Tongue

Dont youtube delete those fake artist video?

I had assumed that they reviewed a channel's videos before paying them? If they don't, it seems very easy indeed. Fake artist videos can stay a long time before they are deleted, and it usually takes a complaint from the publisher.

instamining new coin at launch is still profitable, and always will be, because you mine for 5 mins or less, basically free coins, but the scale profitability is reduced drastically even there

example mozzshare, now at 140 satoshi, if you had instamined it at launch, you would probably have 100k in 3 mins with few gpu, that's 0.14 in 3 mins.....
