just stay away.  it's centralized, so it's not going up.

Centralization of some sort is inevitable, and has its appropriate position. It is in no way a liability from realistic perspective.

Unless you live in a fantasy world, you should recognize the idealistic decentralized paradise is beyond your reach, at least for the foreseeable future.

I feel like people praising ripple here are the ones that bought to this high price now and since ripple is very undisclosed to updating their "coin" holder with their plans then these people do what they can only do "hype" based on speculations..

lets look at some datas:

We all know how the sudden jump in net worth rose in a blink. "new coins issued" x old price.

question is.. where is all the 24 hrs volume coming from?

where clicking the total 24 hours volume in coinmarketcap it shows that roughly $100k is traded in almost all BTC related exchange and then there is ~$1.4 millions on www.RippleCharts.com .... So yeah...

can some one break down where this ~1.4 million 24 hrs trading volume comes from?

Mostly my point of my post is that the people who are trading the $100k volume (aka traders from BTC38, cryptsy , polo , kraken justcoin etc) are coming here praising their glorious investment Tongue

just stay away from ripple.

Volume is coming from their gateways. They signed two banks (one in Mexico and another in Germany if I remember correctly) so they must be responsible for the 1 million trade volume.

It is broken down on ripplecharts.com Look at the pie chart. Go to "Value trends" tab for historical data.

Ripple is not XRP. It is a decentralized exchange. XRP is just one of many assets traded there. People trade fiats, assets backed by commodities like gold and silver, dividend bearing assets (e.g. cloud mining hashes), etc. This is where the volume comes from.

Here is an incomplete list of what is currently traded: https://coinist.co/ripple/assets

I worry that it is exactly the opposite - it's centralized so there is some serious investment behind it and strong advocates for it.

I don't like ripple or the idea behind it but you can't argue with success.  Over the last year bitcoin has dropped like a rock and ripple has done well.  Only time will tell, but I think ripple is here to stay, it may be interesting to see what they make of it.

notice each top is lower than the last one.

This bitch is going to crash hard, and they'll be sooooo much crying going on here, with shill threads and tards-in-denial.  It's going to be glorius.  I'd exit this shitbox while you can.  If you bought at the last top, cut your losses, it'll never be as high as it is right now.

The only way Ripple can be that is if RippleLabs and the big stakeholders burn their share. One of the co-founders who owns 10% has publicly stated he is not interested in doing so and has left so there is nothing Ripple can do.

Its a brilliant piece of tech, if only they were less greedy they could have been a huge success story and be the number one.

It's true, they are hugely greedy. I can't fathom why the price keeps going up. It's still hella-hard to get ahold of any at a fair price, and once you have it, it's complicated to sell. It's tempting to watch that price ramp up and up, but when you remember how much XRP the ripple founders themselves hold you know something scammy is going on, regardless of how smart their tech is.

didn't the ripple founders donate all their holdings to non-profit charities? One for the under-banked?

nope.

It is funny to see how many people are unable to understand what ripple is. It is decentralized by design. Open protocol, open software. And it surely the major advancement in cryptocurrency technology after bitcoin.

They have it "manipulated" once they release more from the bag, the price will just keep booming. It has gone from 120 million to almost 800 million in a heartbeat.. Plus, like you said it is a smart piece of tech, if they weren't holding it like the feds. LOL. I give props to them tho for making it! The people already holding are going to be in for a good junk of $$. The late comers will just have to do the best to catch up at this point.. It will pass BTC by mid April, if BTC keeps dropping.. They both aren't too far away in specs and what they bring to the table.

Guys, XRP is fiat in the world of crypto. It's issued in a centralized manner, just like Federal Reserve is doing. It's market cap is huge bullshit because 90% of XRP is owned by one man. I won't touch it, actully I own 999 XRP from promotion and I wouldn't even bother selling them to ride the wave, and this wave is going to drop hard, very soon.

BINGO! <-----------
