To what extent the historical facts about the fact that occultism and other paranormal sciences were being studied by the known dictators of the planet were told the truth. They wanted to win, control and always be in power. Some really smart people think they balive in aliens, gaining power from evil, hurting children etc.
Those that claim that they have they super ability failed when they are being experiment in a controlled environment. And I have read about, Uri Geller became the world's best-known psychic and made millions traveling the world demonstrating his claimed psychokinetic abilities including starting broken watches and bending spoons. And how the amazing James Randi, who has accused Geller repeatedly of trying to pass off magic tricks as paranormal displays.
