There is 504 error moments ago and now the site is up and once again running. I think it's down for few minutes only today. Can someone suggest the tool/website where one can check for how long the site is down.

I didn't notice any error, but it seems that what you said is correct.

LoyceV will give you the most accurate downtime.

In general, the site is now working well, and the error occurred twice this week.

504 Error.

There is 504 error moments ago and now the site is up and once again running. I think it's down for few minutes only today. Can someone suggest the tool/website where one can check for how long the site is down. I know sites like https://www.host-tracker.com/ but they gave only current status of site not the past status like for how long the site was down.

All seems good on my end though. I wonder if there is a way that these little issues can be fixed because it's starts from a little hitch before it turns to something disturbing. Who knows, we can wake up one morning and discover we can't access the forum..I'm just saying..
I think it's already fixed at this time. I think the problem based on the time this thread posted which is 7am and it's already 10pm forum time so I think it's already fixed and ss you have said, all seems good on your end.  It is also good on my end too since It is running very smooth even with clicking a link. Let's just wait if there's really a problem that needs fixing until this time but it there isn't then as I explained that the issue is fixed already.

My bot detected a downtime of ~13 minutes then ~22 minutes, plus a few missed heartbeats. Not a big of a deal.
No wonder no notifications as of that time.

It's been taking a while for the threads to load. At first I thought it was my connection, but I see that when I access other sites they load right away. Now I get this message.
I experienced it too, and if you have not brought it up, I would never have known because I already had it in my mind that it was a bad reception because that is often the problem in have my place of residence.

There was a warning in the "news" line a few days ago that the forum would be closed for a few hours for maintenance and bug fixes. Maybe this event is the reason for such work of the forum.
I remembered this too, but I was thinking it was done already.

I am glad everything is smooth now.

Yap!
When I was trying to load site it shows me a security check up where i have to click before reloading site and even as that it would take time before load up. I was think it was my network causing it I never knew that is from the forum, what made me believe is from the forum is when i also tried to load my media page it roll up so quickly but this doesn't happen for long time is just for a few minutes after which everything went back to normal state again.

Oh! It is no only me who is facing this problem, I thought that the problem is only in my case, I thought that my ISP is cheating me, I complained to them.  Tongue
Although I am not facing the problem now, yesterday and the day before yesterday I faced a lot of loading, which became a disturbing to my work a lot. I think if you are still facing this problem then there is may an issue in your ISP network. Other wise I am now browsing the forum smoothly.
I was surprised to see this thread myself and you should know that this happened today, and not yesterday or 2 days ago as you claimed. Maybe your issue was different because it is not about the mere slowness in browsing as seen in the OP but also an error as seen in the image attached.

I never witnessed this myself, maybe I was lucky because I started posting an hour after the thread was created. What surprised me more is that I started posting during the time of many replies to the thread but never experienced the issue till now. I only experienced the security check that we complained about a while ago.

I think it was just twice, that was all and it loaded very fast even after the human verification.

I can confirm this, as the browser tells me a security server certificate error, so it is not a DDoS, but rather a problem with the site’s server or in the connection between BTT server and the database.
we are always afraid of getting DDoS attacks all the time...lol, but that did look like an attack since there's barely the same effect to the users like the last time we got hit -- unless for the fact that you understood the error message clearly.

well i didn't notice this since -- according to T NiNJA - it didn't take too long, but I had an experience like this sometime ago and it left me wondering what must have happened to the entire BTT domain?. Glad we're back!

I am saying this because in past few months the forum has gone down several times. If theymos can just review the security apparatus of the forum, otherwise all good.

Down for just a short time frame is not a reason for a valid concern such as security. As shared already by @xalolex, forum is undergoing maintenance and bug fixes which is totally normal for all services online.

I’m experiencing slow loading too but only when I click the “all” button on the thread page and not when regularly opening thread. I’m not sure if the “all” button is very slow to load in general or this issue just happening to my browser only.

The current security mechanism has continuously been breached.

Hmm, if you say so, but: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".

There is this network provider company in my country that have been experiencing network issues since last week but this week was better but when I tried to access the forum this morning, it was not going through and I assumed it was a network issue from my end until I opened another app on my phone and everything was like working perfectly, I could not have imagine that the error is from the forum until I am seeing this post now, thanks.

It looks like the problem has been resolved. In any case, everything works fine for me. And yes, it is rightly said that we should not panic when we see some problems with loading. This has become a frequent occurrence, but I am glad that everything is resolved quickly.

I also feel it's a bit slower than usual, although i don't see message "Database error" so far. Although when accessing this forum with Tor, Cloudflare occasionally show security check even though i don't click "All" page. I'd speculate bullish cryptocurrency market lead to more visitor and spammer.

The server is shut down very often but gladly it's only for some minutes. I hope everything is okay with the forum, it will be good if theymos or forum moderators explain why this happens so often (probably once a week).

He already mentioned it, but there is no solution to whatever causes it as he doesn't even know what's the reason

It was the same weird thing which caused a few hours of downtime 6-12 months ago, and I think it's what causes the few minutes of downtime people observe every few weeks. I've never been able to figure out what causes it. It looks like the network gets cut between the web server and the database for a while. It seems to always happen at around the same time, so I suppose it's probably some automated maintenance process messing something up, but I don't have anything running at this time, so I wonder if it's something in the web-host's networking infrastructure, or something like that. It's difficult to diagnose, since it happens rarely, and usually when I'm sleeping.

Anyhow, a few hours of downtime might be good once in a while, would make some understand to not take eveything for granted.

I had no issues here, everything seems to be loading up at normal speed for me. If others are having trouble too, then maybe the forum is having a hiccup, but everything seems smooth on my end. Or maybe the admins have already fixed it?

Its now a very regular experience with me.

when I open threads for some minutes may reading through it or trying to type, within that time if you want to post it appears and then I have to refresh the page or click the post button several times before it can finally go through.

Maybe that is what theymos has been working for some time now as a result of the increase in users of the forum.

image loading...
Same I also experience it, at first I experience this. The image above when I tried accessing the forum through my notifier, so actually thought may be was was having network issues then try using my webs to search and was working fine. Then I noticed that it was the forum serber that was slow.
It's been taking a while for the threads to load. At first I thought it was my connection, but I see that when I access other sites they load right away. Now I get this message.

When I tried to post this thread I got that message several times.

Has this happened to anyone else?
yeah same with me , I experience exact thing after I was able to access the forum I try replying a thread but it keep on showing this exact thing  please try again. If you come to this error screen, report error to an administrator, but I guess is working fine now because if it was still on I'm not sure we would be able to create or reply this post.
