What you guys think about it?

Is it obvious?

Or is is everything OK and things going as planed? :-)

There are many discussions about Bitcoin and Alt coins per example. Some telling "all" Alt coins are scam, some are still reserved with their opinion others see big opportunities...

We are planing to run a ico for our 2 projects https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21279456 , 1 of them is requiring an alt coin..... and sometimes it feels like walking on a very thin line...
Obviously some people are abusing it a lot, but there have also been some pretty powerful developments made with some of the newer coins.

Use Alt coins, if it is specific to your need for your project.... just know that it is a extra hurdle for people to find these coins.

I  also do not have any problem with useful unique projects requiring its on currency the problem is just so many alt coins out there with no relay project behind... push of gambling coins that get pumped and dumped. Making it harder and harder for real and honest projects to get realized...

If you meant that various new ICO projects gaining idea through Bitcoin have basically came for scamming people. Then, it is true.

Yep! That was the purpose of this question.

Your question related to idea behind Bitcoin being abused or raped isn't very clear. If you meant that various new ICO projects gaining idea through Bitcoin have basically came for scamming people. Then, it is true. There are loads of shit and dead coins in the market. Since altcoin market is decentralized, scams are way too common here. We certainly can't escape that. But if you are legit, then you need not to fear that. Many new ICOs come everyday and many of them get successful.

Bitcoin is serving a need and as long as people are satisfied that Bitcoin is serving that need, it would succeed. You can send

$1000 or $100 000 000 to someone in another country at the same fee. {It is serving a purpose} Many people use it because

it is pseudo-anonymous. { Use your credit card or debit card and some centralized 3rd party call the shots....or share your

sensitive information with governments or even marketers. } Bitcoin is still the most widely accepted Crypto currency in the

world.  Wink

Use Alt coins, if it is specific to your need for your project.... just know that it is a extra hurdle for people to find these coins.

It's math. Bitcoin is doing exactly what she was programed to do. The rest is human behavior which does not sway her.

That was one of the most straight forward answers, telling the truth! (with out devaluing the others ocf)

Strongly agree!

Thank you!

I don't think Bitcoin can be abused because it has a limit of how many coins are circulating so I can't say it had been abused already. And I think Bitcoin is supposedly programmed or developed to work that way, that's how technology works and that is its purpose in the first place.

Not really because the bitcoin idea is too spread so it is normal that many people are going to get the opportunity. Bitcoin is a very great source of income in fact the bitcoin salary is more profitable and easy when you compare it too the real job. So for me it is only normal.

In this world every type of people exists , few of them want to work honestly but few of them want to make bulk profit only without see the profit that what other people can make with them .
So if you can see in the history then you will found that many coins scammed ( I can't talk about them by name ) and few of them get dead because of only the reason of no activity by the coin's team .
So here we don't need to think much about this and only to work with our mind whether which coin is better and which is nit and which have future and which one of them have not .
So here i am talking about the experience that can make us more predictable about a particular coin .
Here you can see the example of first coin , that is bitcoin  and now it is king and also will remain king only because of quality .

I guess you have to really understand that some altcoins are being put to scam people, I'm not saying that you are a scammer, but my point is, if are planning to put up a ICO, just be transparent to your investors so that they will feel confident that you are trusted and not going to run with their funds. I check your thread and there are comments about your whitepaper. So that will be a good start, show them your whitepaper and answer all doubts about your project. Goodluck to your project and wish you success as well.

Thank you for the wishes!

And we do have a white paper. The post you mentioned, was about the "technical part of the white paper" and as we are in early stage we decided not to give too much info to public at this point. We will regularly update the thread and progress and we will ofc issue a detailed technical white paper when its about time!

All I know is that I know nothing.
the idea behind bitcoin is what it is and will always remain just that. you can't do anything to it. any other project that has some real ideas behind it will also succeed.

but what is "raped and abused" is what all these ICOs are doing these days.
there is absolutely no need for any of their existence. they do nothing, contribute to nothing in the world. they just exist. and worst part is they are asking for money to just exist! and that is absurd!

many won't like what i am saying here, but that is how i see things.
if tomorrow all these ICOs were to vanish, nothing in the whole world would change.
and if they continue to be, again nothing in the whole world would change because they aren't doing anything!

Creating the universe of crypto currencies might have actually been a side effect.

Good explanation! So the hole cryptocurrency world came out of providing a technical solution to a technical problem. There was no "ideology" involved at start?

Actually I don't know if there really was a bigger idea behind the developement of bitcoin.
I think the main reason why bitcoin was created was very simple: because it could be done.
There were technical problems at that time nobody was able to solve.
And I suppose those were enough incentive for the creators to work until they had found a solution.
Creating the universe of crypto currencies might have actually been a side effect.

An altcoin has to have some kind of purpose. You just won't want to create one, with no meaning at all. It should be backed up with a great project. Altcoin's almost always becomes dust, because there are not many investors, or the coins are dumped in an initial phase. But if you have a mature project backing up your altcoin, and investors that will stick, that you can try your luck in this cryptoworld.

Don't know what you mean by the idea of bitcoin being raped and abused, do you mean the idea of decentralisation, or do you mean the idea of cryptocurrencies?

A lot of scam icos are being made, just look at the scam accusations page of the forum. If you have a good project and transparency, it will be obvious that you aren't trying to scam anyone.

Well those are just some common comments by people who were scammed by these altcoins. I for one had some success with these altcoins when they release token and i gather some of them. When there coin was already in the market i had .07 converted to btc. If you are planning to do some ICO, just be sure you are really planning on ins future. Because even if you had a good start but you can realize you would manipulate the bought tokens, there are chances of being a scam. There are mature people in this community that would really help in ICO but there can also be Cops observing you.
