Though i am affected in the recent demotion, But it's good because the rate at which new people join the space and post rubbish just to attain Jr member to start bounty signature is so alarming, so the new system will make newbies to focus on making good post so that they will rank up rather than posting shitpost in other to reach jr member to fulfill the bounty number of post in a week, also it will cut off multi account abuse, so it's a good decision coming at the right time.

I think the restricting of signatures is a great first step towards removing the financial incentive for creating multiple accounts.

It would work even better if we require more merit. I think this is a very small step in the right direction but I still think we should go further and remove signatures from Juniors as well. Then you would need ten merit to become a Member and get a signature and that's still not much to ask. That would really sort the wheat from the chaff because at the moment it's not very difficult to get one merit whether you beg, trade or buy it. Ten merit is ten times harder/more costly to get. I don't think everybody should be able to come here and earn via posting straight away because it's that that has destroyed the forum by people who have no idea what they're doing and making them get one merit is just minor a inconvenience for them. Let them earn that right, but I think we need to make it more than one merit. One is fine from going from Newbie to Junior but I don't think it's enough to have a significant impact on the quality of discussions here. It's a small spanner in the works of farmers but they can easily buy or trade the one merit which will also easily go unnoticed in a lot of cases. The ones who have been earning thousands from farming accounts/bounties with hundreds of accounts will have no issue in buying the merit then trading it between their alts so it's not much of a difference to them.

I'm just thinking how it is just one merit enough to be Jr. member and they can continue on with his job. What kind of invasion is going on meta in the last two days I suppose that 2 merit requirements for jr member rank it would be like a catastrophe for many newbies.
in any case, it is a considerably less spam hereafter merit system integrated. the new change will be reflected mostly on bounty account farmers, and I must say a great job for the one who conceived this.
Disaster? You are overestimating this problem because with all the effort and meticulousness, a newbie can easily earn a lot of merit for a short time as long as they produce high quality post, it is not so terrible as you say. People are just being surprised and not timely adapt to the new system, however, things will soon be resolved when they adjust the mood and wait for the source of merit and of course, bounty hunters will die out over time with this system but a newbie with patience and contribution will definitely survive

Same with you. I do social campaign only Smiley I dont need a merit to become a JR.

There is a system like this, so no one who misuses this forum is just to get money and make their rich. If you really deserve there will definitely be members in this forum will give you merit Smiley

You are right, anyway i'm helping forum by joining social campaign to maketing some project whitch create bounty on forum.
Maybe someone will recognize this.
You wrote 345 posts and no have one merit , it's says what you wrote only bounty spam posts and was not useful for forum. I think it's fair for forum. If anyone want to participate in bounty , need to be useful for other mebers forum.

Strongly agree with you. But If you just want have merit to join the sign campaign, please show me the difference between you and me?

In some of the bounty programs that I've followed, decreasing the rank to the newbie had no effect on the signature campaign that was running and would still get the stake in accordance with the shelf when we registered. But to join the new signature campaign it wouldn't be possible.

At first I also felt desperate to get merit because I felt it is impossible or very difficult. But I tried to review my post and the result turned out that my 180+ posts were junk / spam that came from an airdrop program that required constructive post, report bounty and low quality comments. I am trying to read a good thread, follow the discussion on some threads and learn from it.

The point I want to tell you, the new rules that are made are very good, so that this forum has added value for all members. The problems with "difficult" to get merit is not because this forum makes it difficult for us. Try to review your own posts first, is it good enough to get some merit?

The purpose of applying the one merit regulation for junior member rankings is to improve the quality of forum posts that have so far been filled with garbage, and that is a good policy to follow. However, for some newbies they find it difficult to get one merit and they wonder what "quality posts are like?" I saw some newbies who managed to get merit, but posting them was mediocre, nothing special. I thought that they got it from buying and selling merit. Is there really a sale and purchase of merit?

I am a newbie. Maybe you guys will think I'm trying to find a merit. But I really do not care about it, because I'm just a bounty hunter mainly for social networking campaigns. However, I have some thoughts. Any change will receive two positive and negative results. The good thing I see is probably better for those who actually work. No more spam, multi, etc. We can get more rewards. We will all need to contribute better to the community. On the other hand, I see a lot of people selling merit at exorbitant prices from the application of the new merit system. This is not fair to us. And I saw more fraudulent transactions.
My English is not good, maybe I have to learn English and read a lot to make quality contributions to the community. I think that is what the new merit system wants to be
good luck !

I fully agree with the management goal of the decision
Whether to stop spam or bad posts

But the decision alone is not enough
Before the decision we must be found a means/tools to implement it
And here I propose specifically
If we believe in a global btc, we are all seeking global adoption
we must provide More merit sources
This will activate it and spread the idea better.

Yes it's better, newcomers now dont think anymore how to get 30 activities to get promoted to jr. member instead they're now worrying on how to get 1 merit to get higher ranks. So there's no doubt that it's better than before because it obviously stopped those spammers and shitposters. They will now be a merit hunter.

The new merit system is better in my opinion.   Yes I'm screwed over now for the time being but this new rule has changed the game entirely.

You were a jr member lost in a sea of BS accounts.  So even though you were allowed in certain bounties your were completely drowned out by the spam accounts.  If you are able to achieve a merit when the spam accounts cannot then this rule has actually helped you immensely although on the surface it looks like you got hit with horrible luck.

In the end it comes down to how you perceive it and react to the data.  I'm going to simply continue and move forward.  My posting is obviously not up to par yet but hopefully one day I make the break through and all of a sudden I'm in a better place than I ever have been on the forum.  Everyone who got demoted is in this exact same position to succeed.  We just need to keep hammering away hopefully making solid and relevant posts that make a difference.

Why would you think 1 merit is not fair for you? Simple, it is because you only want to do bounty in here (and maybe with a lot of alt-accounts because what the hell it is only 1 merit, it is not that hard unless you got 10++ accounts), not anything else. You treat this forum as a farm, not a forum.

I note this. I'm not upset, I will try. thank you

you're right. There are too many bitcointalk accounts involved in the signature campaign. And that is the beginning of spam

I think the restricting of signatures is a great first step towards removing the financial incentive for creating multiple accounts.

In my opinion it would be better to permaban the user(s) found cheating and delete all multiple/fake accounts than to simply restrict everyone from participating in signature campaigns. I mean, if someone just found out about crypto and found an interesting project they'd like to support by wearing their signature (or just to earn some free crypto - not everyone can afford to buy some),  they wouldn't be able to participate until their rank was upgraded. Although I have to admit that I can't even imagine how much work that would take, considering that the forum has over 2 mil members.
