I am disappointed what is happening now, In the past I thought that bitcoin's price won't be changed after halving but it's down now. I had some bitcoins and wanted to sell but what I am looking today, it's very sad for me. I need to convert bitcoin into money but it will be bad for my finances. I don't had time to sell it yet.
I too thought that that the price will only increase after halving, as an evidence the price was stable for long, but I don't thought it will fall. If it drops further I will buy.
I too am waiting for it to fall abit more...
Once it falls below $500 i will buy more else i will hold on my bits

may be the halving have also some effect on the price of bitcoin, but i think if halving was going to effect the price of bitcoin what was it waiting for in jully and what about the miner, will they continue mining as the price of bitcoin is decreasing and in such situation it will become difficult for miner con survive, so what will happen if they stop mining any more,

Is the price of bitcoin falling because of halving?

More likely caused by bitfinex hack:

Not yet clear how many bitcoins got stolen. Add possible panic selling and you got a huge dump.

I think 480-500 good price to buy.

If it happens to go down that much, then yes, it will be a more than perfect price to buy at nowadays. I however can't see the price go down that much right now.

With the current rate of bitcoin falling day by day, when would you suggest is the best time to buy more bitcoins?
Any suggestions?

The best time is always now if you're planing on buying at all.
You can't reliably time the market so it doesn't matter.

Yeah, the hype is over now. Back to the 500's. That's if we are lucky. If we are not, welcome to 400's.

The general direction will be only down from now on, 'till  we get close to the next halving, which is very far away. Don't get deceived by the fake pumps, they won't last.
That's not going to happen. The price has been gradually increasing all due to the speculation of halving and it will again be stable at $600 in the next few weeks. Last year as well the price doubled and it did remain stable at $350-$400 after that. Dumping and pumping is common in BTC.

in fact there can be so many reason for the present downfall. but my personal view is that is is not because of halving, but i think that is just a panic selling, people are just afraid of crashing the bitcoin, therefore every one is going to safe himself and they are ready to sell their bitcoin even for lower price. but i think this downfall will not continue for a long time and hope that at the level of 550$ it will be resisted and hope that after that it will again start rising.

actually i have no idea to explain what cause make bitcoin prices falling day by day and also i won't blame the halving and even some people said prices will pump again soon but honestly i'm not sure with their opinion and it's too risky if i hold too long bitcoin if the prices back again to $600 below

certainly not, half did not give any impact either price increase or decrease in price, this is a very normal occurred in bitcoin. i think this is a good chance to you to make a profit.

Nearly four years of downtrend? Wow. On that basis I'll have to pay to hold BTC. If I remember rightly there weren't any halvings anywhere near any of the majority of the price explosions.

That's because they weren't real pumps. They were market manipulations. Gox manipulated the markets heavily by stealing their customers money. That had nothing to do with the halving at all.

Gox shouldn't have existed in that time frame but mistakes happen.

The chance of the bitcoin market price falling to $500 is low because we have some good support above that price.

Hot air eventually gets found out and that's the case with this. Bitcoin production has reduced. That's not the same as supply. If the price is right there's always supply. There might well be some type of halving effect but it's not going to be instant and perhaps the system will route around the differences it creates.

As for when to buy who knows? No one looks very convinced around this price level either. The trend is your friend.

the current price drop is the result of people being disappointed that the price didn't go up after the block halving. some even say the closed door miners meeting has something to do with this. looking at the moment the price started to tank, they might be right on that. but it's just speculation. other than that i have to say that the current price does offer people a great entry point.
