The rules on merit awarding are much stricter for merit sources.

Really?  I've always felt encouraged to give it away to as many legitimate users as I can find.

I'm impressed by the sheer number of newbies you have helped rank up.

There are many newbies that are not shit-posters that also don't make super exciting posts. But they do have value to the forum because they are clearly
interacting with others. I think it is good that merit sources are helping them out of newbie hell.  It is annoying for them that they cannot post images.

I think it is great that you are looking for reasons to give. Perhaps some people over-think it.

I suggest a solution to fight against slightly abuser on merit system, especially Junior Members who got 1 merit for non-sense thread to satisfy the new rank requirement launched several days ago.
The start of new ERA!

Every single transactions can be found here, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R3dE2huMLqjvC1JpFUimRvXvktBxjD-Sgqw61S5oYhk/edit#gid=0

Feel free to find and report abusers!
As you all can see in the table and chart above, merit distribution has been almost double last week.
Very impressive effects of new rank requirements (and of course, more merit sources accepted and acted actively).

I also give the link to helpful topic which created by @LoyceV.
List of demoted Jr. Members who were ranked up again
As the author stated, being listed in the list there don't mean that those ones are abusers.

I think it may not be an issue as I believe it will be the newbies effort to make good constructive  postings to be able to achieve 1 merit.  People should move on and just continue to do what is right.

Abusing Merits or trading it isn't allowed so users who will be caught doing such things will be punish for sure. They will receive Negative Trust, since Merit is not moderated they will not be banned (if my memory serves me right).

Based from the title itself, merit giver won't be punish as long as you distribute your sMerits in different good ways and it is much better to not receive any Merits than to get one from trading it.

Anyway, the answer for your question is too obvious. Making thread for topic like this is unnecessary. Please try to search and read sometimes.
Same with the above.  As far as I know, you can only receive negative trust rating by merit abuse.  Can anyone cite an example that a user was banned or suspeneded becaue of merit abuse?

I'm still new in this forum, I don't really understand how this works.
can someone review the history of my post?
I hope to get at least 1 merit. I have tried to make the best post according to the knowledge I have about cryptocurrency and a little about my economic knowledge.

terimakasih banyak

Oh my, I think you just got on the ignore list of 3 merit sources. Go to a merit review thread and pretend that this post never happened.

And also... pretend that this other is not yours

I have been thinking about investing in ETH for sometime.

Should I invest in Ethereum now or wait?
currently the price of Ethereum is $ 3.50, this price is the same as in 2016.
I thought this was the right time to buy, I bought Ethereum one week ago."

Edit: you may be referring to your local coin.

The only thing, AFAIK is that sources are not allowed to sell merit, whereas there is nothing specifically said about it for the rest of the users.

A source can and will make mistakes and cannot be blamed excessively if a merited user decides to act badly or if merit goes to a good post that later is found to be plagiarised. I would not worry too much... perhaps checking the profile of newbies or before giving to users that have low merit and many posts... you know... basic precautions.

Oh, and be sure that you will eventually be accused by some sore spammer and the like.

is there a penalty for them or is it permissible?
if they are proven to do this. what if their rank is lowered too?
Yes, that is abusing merit the receiver and sender merit will be punished once they are caught someone and proven they are abusing both accounts were got negative trust.
...

I'm wonder if getting red trust would stop such merit trader from continuing this activity?
For example this guy: LINK has already got -32 trust and he's still trading without care.
Maybe exept red trust it could be possible to block his sMerits for some period of time or delete them for good. Such guy could still get Merit for his contribution but not sMerit until his punishement period will pass. This would stop him trading for good.
I'm sure that such solution could be developed.

There is no rank demotion taking place when a merit abuser is found out guilty but I think painting their account red via a negative trust rating is enough punishment to them, just by painting them red it will be harder for them to transact to other people with their businesses as well as they will have limited options on what campaign they will be able to join.

Did you born yesterday? This topic discussed ten times already from the most beginning of the merit system. Yes, there is punishment for such people, for that were created special threads where other users can report on merit abusing cases and of course they should to add proves.

Don't buy, sell, trade, beg or steal merit.

Even being accused of obtaining it unjustly can be a harrowing experience.

What can be received can be taken away.

BTW, if any merit source goes rogue and sells a ton of merit, then I will probably go through the transaction graph and undo all of the transactions touched by that sold source-merit. Merit ain't no immutable cryptocurrency!

Just earn it the right way.

Merit givers can be tagged for giving it to shit-posters, selling it or trading it.

It is also not nice to feature here:

If you can report such people to mods, obviously they will get a red trust for doing that, and getting red trust in the forum is worst penalty any member won't want to receive here, and you could be gifted some merit for it, though it is not a guaranty

I believe that the administrator of this forum may able to penalized those who are abusive in relation to merit credit to shit posters. Most likely, the admin may do some sort of sanction on the matter which I believe, gaining merit should be given to someone who deserves to acquire it. Newbies should continue to improve and enhance their post to become more impressive and informative to the readers.

You maybe wrong at somewhat extent.
After the merit sytem and new rank requirement started months ago, forum users - especially lower-ranked ones - stimulated by new rank requirements which highly correlated with merit sytem.
Together, these twos force users to improve their theads' quality by concentrating more on their ideas, writing skills, in-context discussion, etc. to be rewarded with merits for their good contribution.
Each post is encouraged by merit, is checked.

Each post is encouraged by merit, is checked. You can rest assured that one day the person who sells Smerit on this forum will be caught. In addition to the administrator, there are a lot of old-timers who follow these rules and they are bound to see it or they are told by other participants. I am sure that if at the moment there are no such strict rules, they will be introduced. Have no doubt. Do not look for quick ways to make money, and use a simple rule: "Give more than you get"

There is a system already in place where in you can report any suspicious merit activity found. The merit system has been made stricter so as to stop merit abuse. But it still remains a question how the merit sale and "give and take" things will be detected.??  Huh Huh

But I read a thread earlier that most of the bounty will not let you join the campaign because of negative trust.

Bounties are a broken trailer bouncing along on the road behind the forum. It is a very small part of the activities here. Unfortunately it is the noisiest and most intrusive part, rather like a badly educated child with parents who have no consideration for others.

If you have been banned from bounties, then you are now free to spend you time in research, and you can build a decent career for yourself.

many bounty campaign dont accept with negative trust so your account will be useless

That is completely untrue, and it reflects the mindset that is destroying this forum. Negative trust just castrates your spam procreation ability for bounties. You can still avail yourself of the major benefits of membership here.
