Bitstamp does deal with Ripple. Perhaps there's a way to get dollars in there using that though I've no idea how.

Cheers for that mate! I was thinking along the same lines. However Bitstamp only retail Ripple.

Looking into it now, have you used them before? Trip to Hauge or Amsterdam Cheesy

Yeah a couple of times, mainly when BTC suddenly starts going parabolic (like oct-nov last year). It is the quickest way to get into BTC from my bank/brokerage account, you get your BTC instantly.

Cheers bro! Do you have links to these third party processors; Misterpay and iDEAL ? My Dutch is not very good!

If you have a Dutch bank account, you can instantly buy BTC up to 10K euro at https://bitonic.nl/ They go by the BTC-e rate with a small service premium, but in case of a rapid rise in BTC prices that shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far!!

Trying to think outside the box now.

How about;

1. Going to Slovenia; Opening an account with Unicredit; Make all subsequent deposits via that account - Don't know if that would actually speed things up?

2. Open an International Account with (Eg. CitiBank); Try and do all BTC trading in EUR; Deposit via SEPA

Any one have up to date experience depositing fiat funds to Kraken, BTC-e or Bitfinex?

yes, Bitstamp has become much slower unfortunately

I have found that the best way for me (and rates) is using Virwox.
I use credit card and paypal to fund my account, then change it to SLL and then to BTC.
Only takes about 1 hour max to have the coins.

EDIT: Keep in mind that new accounts on Virwox require 48hours so that you get your coins.
After that you get them fast.
I have even made a payment to Bitmain directly from there.

Interesting thanks bud! I have heard of this methods, although some folks are giving it mixed reviews (owning to the SLL/BTC rate and also Payeer/Credit card transaction fees - will research a bit more though

I used Coinbase.com which took 4 days from my bank account transfer to coins. For someone newly getting into BTC and eager to have my first coins, that felt like forever. Then I used coin.mx and after confirming my bank account, the coins were in my wallet within an hour. They are located in the U.S. and are fully legit, I will vouch for them. Great customer support too. Live chat, and they'll call you to confirm. Hope this helps.
