Gambling for experiencing the adrenaline rush in long term is also a bad thing,if we are in need of those for too long which literally means we are addicted to it without our knowledge.
Gamblers who do it 'for the rush' are or will probably turn out to be problem gamblers. The human brain gets tolerant to adrenaline rushes and dopamine release, as drug addicts all can tell you. Same thing with gambling. Same start, too. You try it for fun, find it fun, win some money, and eventually it becomes your preferred form of pleasure. The same level of betting never stays satisfying, though. You therefore have to keep increasing your bets and trying to win back money you lost. It's the same downward spiral as any addiction, really.
And yet there are those gamblers who keep doing it just for fun and it isn't a problem for them. For
those people, there is indeed a valid reason to keep doing it, i.e., it provides them with a fun thing to do and it doesn't destroy their bank accounts and lives. As long as those types of people only gamble what they can afford to lose, it's not an issue.
The reason is chasing losses.
You hit it spot on the nose. Anyone claiming that they're losing money but keep gambling because its fun is lying to you and to themselves. They are the ones who need to do some introspection.
