I think OP should just lock this thread.
Ohh so sorry, forgot to do lock it.

Why is this discussion even happening? Send him a warning? Disallow that? The heck? Cheesy
Nah man, I'm just trying to clear things out for me, I thought it was something else.

What's wrong with changing the title of your post purposefully or not? People don't even pay attention to that since 99% of the time the title is just "Re: ". Stop making a big deal out of it.
As I said, it is not much of a deal but I think it is unnecessary. Anyways we are free to do anything we want here as long as we don't cross the line of rules in the forum. I'm now locking this thread  Smiley

I think the "Subject" a major part of the posts, even if it is not noticed by most users ...
It may be used as an advertisement in this case  Grin

I think this could be solved by disallowing the topic title to be changed. After all, it doesn't serve any purpose besides occasional fun/ trolling attempts.

Why would he do an extra effort if he is not into something in exchange? I don't think that's for us to know that he is a Vietnamese.
Maybe it just his own style or also a mannerism. Nontheless, it was unnecessary so he should received a warning regarding this even though it was not harmful for others.
Can't say it too, but the least that I can think is that he wanted some local Vietnamese to merit his post for changing the topic subject.  Huh
Nah, I don't think so. But if it really was his true reason then he need to stop it once and for all. It was ineffective Cheesy. How come that he will receive merits for doing that? See.

Reply title is in Vietnamese. I guess that user wanted to use his reply titles as signals that he is Vietnamese.

I can't say the motive behind this style, try (and hope) to exchange merit with locals. (?)

I guess the OP is right, it is unnecessary to do that on English threads.

I'm not sure about that but i think that "noorammak" he enabled automatic translator in his browser
and this started since 31 august 2020 after 2018!
No, the reason why I saw that is that he is changing the thread subject which has nothing to do with the browser language. On what purpose we don't know but we guess it is for acquiring local merits from his local board. Nevertheless, I find his action unnecessary especially when his intention is just to get a merit from doing that, still the post should be quality enough to be merited.

I don't know if there's a specific policy of using only English on the English parts of the forum but posting both versions if you can use both can sometimes be helpful for disambiguation purposes.
I would say this is a lot more helpful on local boards than it is on a English board because most people on the English board will have a good enough reading level and if this was encouraged it could mean that we have members posting several translations on one post. In the local boards I would say it would be better because local boards might be read by those that are learning the language but have not got a great understanding yet and the translation would be specific to that local language.

Ohh I thought it was on me coz I'm on a English thread then sees it, it's weird when he does that.

I think that user is deliberately doing that for his fellow Vietnamese, but then English is a universal language that everyone should know how to understand, speak and write, even me I'm not an English native speaker. Though it was not a big deal.

I dunno, knowing a non native eruppean or Asian language is probably helpful, I don't like that everyone's learning English because it makes it harder for native English speakers to learn other languages imo.

I don't know if there's a specific policy of using only English on the English parts of the forum but posting both versions if you can use both can sometimes be helpful for disambiguation purposes.

Topic subjects can be changed to contain whatever someone wants. I just changed mine to "Like this."

I would doubt this very much since who is going to merit for changing the subject title? This behavior was probably only noticable by a few keen eyed people before it got brought to light here. I don't think the act is harmful except for maybe search engine indexing? I'm not really sure the benefit either.

In my initiative to make unlock appeal to hilariousandco for the Vietnamese local thread, there are not many locals joined. A few joiners are from BitcoinVN. They live and work in Vietnam but they are foreigners (from Germany I guess).

noorammak has a habit of translating the subject from English to Vietnamese as he's replying in different threads. Check his post history https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/noorammak-1153834
So it can't be bug.

No it isn't. You're quoting the user "noorammak" and for some reason, his subject on the topic's reply was changed to Vietnamese (?).

The browser and the forum is completely fine. Your reply's subject is Vietnamese because you're quoting and replying to that post specifically.
