As confirmed by the one of the respected colleague that the suorce of the information is fake and I believe it is fake because adoption of Bitcoin is one of the major challenges by the government let alone for Russian government to invest $10 billion at this time.

It's all pure BS until they give an actual legitimate source. This has been already debunked, as their source, the Twitter account, seems to be a fake verified account. The account has been sharing those "ethereum giveaways" in the past.

I suggest taking a look at this: https://imgur.com/yN1mBrh

Even if it is true, bitcoin price can not be determined by just a single buy from an exchange. Although it might pump the price in some few seconds, it will return to its normal price when the bears take the profits that have been added.

For me, the very best signal to buy bitcoin is when i think it's reaching already the bottom like when its market value became stagnant for long time. It's really important to have a good reading of its progress because i don't really want to be in a bull trap.

This website seems like a not credible source to me.
I have never seen any news like this one from other websites like BBC or CNN, for example, noting an incident like that. It is always some unknown websites who publish information like this one which makes it untrustworthy.
This information cannot be considered as the official statement from the Russian government. If that's true now some impact could have taken place on cryptocurrency market in large scale, what we experience at present is just fluctuations with minor growth.
Which is really common in case that this news was for real, the value of bitcoin will rise so high after this amount being invested, but the
reality, there's no big movement and there's no confirmation yet from russia bringing this news to be another speculative and just to
create some hype and nothing at all.

That will only make new people who invest in bitcoin will panic, and they will think that bitcoin still not safe for them. I only hope that people can think about the truth and don't make a fast decision before you search for the truth from the other news. We need to compare with the other website so we can know what is happening. But once again, you don't need to worry or afraid or even panic.

I don't trust the buy signals anymore. Anytime people say we are going up I feel like we might go down as much as we can go up as well.

Like there is no difference anymore between going up and down and anything could happen at any given second. Tomorrow I can wake up to bitcoin being 2 thousand dollars or 10 thousand dollars and neither would be impossible. We all would be surprised that it moved that much but none of us would say how it happened because its bitcoin and we are used to seeing stuff like this from bitcoin.

I think the most logical thing to do right now is to wait and see how the trend will move the price, depending on the trend if it starts to go up you can buy (if it goes up %5 you can start buying because usually if it goes up 5% then it goes up higher as well) and sell when it starts to go low.
That is just the nature of the markets, if you watch any other market you will see people making bullish predictions and then when the market goes down they try to find some explanation for it when most of the time there is not a logical explanation we can give about why the market moves the way it does, that is why long time ago I decided to stop following those kind of news and only concentrate on the price.

I'm not buying this Russia rumor. The Bitcoin market is too small for a government to get in right now. No government is gonna buy into a $60 billion market to use as a reserve. Maybe when the market cap is in the trillions they might.

I don't expect any piece of news to make bitcoin rise. I expect in 6+ months for the market to shift upwards and only then will positive news affect the price positively.

Interesting news, but I don't think it's true. It is unlikely that someone declassified detailed information. Especially the Russian government. And how should this help against sanctions? It's just a rumor.
well, we might be able to see the effect of the truth if this is true. well, however, now we only need to wait for good news in crypto, but until now there has been no news that is able to lift the price of bitcoin. if I want to buy bitcoin I think this is the moment.

Well we're not expecting any real good news anytime soon though. People are looking foreward to an etf result but i doubt even an approval would genuinely propel us upwards. I'm quite relaxed into buying right now since we may stay in this kind of market for a longer time regardless of what news or signal may come.

this is a big ass "rumor" which is most probably not even correct. not to mention that it is impossible to buy $10 billion worth of bitcoin without pushing its price to more than $1 billion because of the smallness of the market!

If they were buying it'd be over a very long period of time and governments just dont speculate in new assets like this to any extent.  They have elephant feet which is a problem mentioned by Warren Buffet, the problem of a whale is they empty the bathtub of any water Tongue

Russia and China have both been buying and holding gold to a notable extra ordinary extent for over a decade now.   That market is larger and obviously has been around forever.    Russia did switch their stance on crypto to be less negative I think, that was a positive but I'm still not sure its any big buy signal etc

If this news is truth then that might really be the biggest investments signals in cryptocurrencies for a while.  I doubt this news and I hope such actions are in pipeline. Let said this news Is truth then we should expect the cryptocurrencies market to move upwards in a high level.

Just following up on this. It's February 7th. Never happened. As said. This obviously had nothing to do with reality.

Putin made all kinds of threats on TV about the INF treaty withdrawal etc, and none of those stated by him came to be either. Fact is Russia is an inch from collapse, and the US has nothing to do with it. Communism being a failed ideology is their problem. Russia will soon rise again from the ashes of wounds of Communism with Orthodoxy and traditional Russian life. You're just watching the death of fake, commie "Russia"

huge if true but I think it could be just rumor.  may be that was the whole reason for the dump so they could now buy them in bulk.  Grin

I have bad news for you guys. Take a look to this news: https://forklog.com/mnenie-sluhi-o-pryamyh-investitsiyah-rf-v-kriptovalyuty-ne-imeyut-ni-toliki-zdravogo-smysla/

If you don't speak Russian i will translate the main idea for you. 'the Russian parliament denies the will invest 10billions in bitcoin at the start of the 2019' So, the bump it's gone. Now who will save bitcoin?

I wouldn't be surprised if this pump and dump of a plausible rumour is designed to just-get-the-idea-into-the-mind-of-people so that when (if) it actually starts to be acknowledged that its actually is happening, the price moves up much quicker and decidedly because the FOMO has already been sown into the minds of people most likely to buy .. and the Russians profit more this way.

Timing, of course, would be everything - most likely when the US$ starts a decline like during the last bull run in BTC ... and that time is coming soon, IMO ...

hahahhahahahahahaha.  Indeed it is a big ass rumor. People always generate false news about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general spreading false speculations just to bring fear and panic to the crypto space. Its time this false news stops.

I think that the Russian government is unlikely to carry out the purchase of cryptocurrency as a public procurement. But many officials are likely to have purchased bitcoins. I read a lot of articles about it. But whether this news is true - we learn with time. So far I have not heard any official confirmation.
