Have you been in such situations before? I foremost, asked this question because I haven't done this before. Today I was just doing nothing but sitting down in the sitting room watching TV, but I wasn't comfortable. Then I fund my betting account (hoping to have fun) with $10 but, unfortunately for me, I lost the whole money without winning just a dime. It was not the first time for me to lose money on gambling (but I am not a regular gambler), then I fund another $10, so finally, finally, I still lost the other money I deposited, and I was like asking myself how? When did I even fund another money in this account? why I am surprised is because I haven't funded into my betting account twise in a day after losing done money, so am I becoming an addict? No.
I won't say you're actually becoming or turning to an addict but looking at the mood you were before deciding to fund your bet account to gamble the mood was a dull one and you must have been thrilled by the outcome of your bet from your first funding which might have brighten your countenance, and with the euphoria you lost count and refund again.

In as much as you didn't fund above your normal $10 amount you don't have a course to worry about addiction, a number of us has had the feeling too and we understand your worry quite well.

You're still good others cannot stop depositing and playing until they are exhausted, the fact that you are fully aware of what you're doing and questioning it, it just means that you do not want to be a compulsive gambler and you have control of your activity.

But if you keep doing it and keep adding more hours and more money that will be time that you are turning into addiction, addiction is when you are not aware anymore of what you're doing you're not aware of the time and you want to keep your bankroll steady so you can play continuously.
Just maintain your time allocation, and the money that you are comfortable losing and if you maintain that you are good to go, going further means you are losing your grip.

Every day do you fund your betting account (deposit) or do you only do it when you want to play?
From what I understand, if you only make deposits at certain times and don't do it every day for a small amount ($10), you are not considered a gambling addict.

The deposit with the amount you mentioned is too small and I can't find any enjoyment from the game I play.
Incidents of losing money due to repeated losses after making a deposit often occur. Occasionally I win after funding my betting account for the third time to cover the losses that have occurred at that time.

I can place bets five rounds or do some slots rounds with that $10, enough to give my luck a shot, and if things go against me then it's not my day, I quit peacefully and find something else to do with my time, like trade or find new gems in the space, or just do some reading, you want to win some money, do not be scared to admit this, to you it's by force to win at that moment, that's why makes you to deposit another $10 to gamble.

You are lucky its not a lot, if you are already addicted you would have risk much more than this and you won't even come on here to talk about it until the amount you lost become very big, you still got yourself man, so now there is still time for you to fix yourself, only risk what you can afford to lose, this have been said so many times on the forum.

Also it seems like you want to get your money back, if you won the second round would you have quit and move your money out? I doubt that but no way to know now isn't it? When you are bored or less busy next time it doesn't mean it's a calling to gamble, make sure you are ready to lose the amount first before risking it.

I forget whether I have ever experienced something like what you experienced or whether I have never experienced it at all. The obvious is that I'm just funding my gambling for fun at the moment and although I've almost become addicted to gambling, I guess that's a different situation. But I think gambling addiction can come in various forms whether it is using gambling to make money which results in us gambling more often, always returning to gambling to gamble because gambling has become a passion in life, funding your gambling account more often than before or other. But believe me, it's just a gambling addiction that you have to get rid of immediately because if not, you will experience a gambling addiction that is worse than before and it will be even more difficult for you to cure it. You still have a chance to do it so do it before it's too late.

Not yet, but you will soon become, once you think that you don't like what you're doing in the casino and you're questioning your action, you're still ok but once you agree that you are doing it right and you think that you're still ok even though you keep depositing and losing then you are on your way to addiction.

Addiction is justifying your actions and not questioning how you deposit and play on the platform, when people around you become concerned about the amount of time and money you spend in a casino and you ignore them then you are deep into addiction and you need help to overcome it.

No. I don't think. You just deposited twice while addicts won't stop. Maybe it just got into you that you want your money back and you failed. But, did you keep repeating the same process after the second loss? If not, then you are not a gambling addict.
I did the same thing once in my gambling history, deposited twice because I wanted to chase my losses but I could not get it back just like you. After that, I stopped playing and just rested the whole day.
The thing about gambling addicts is, that they won't stop there, they might as well not sleep the whole day as long as they can get money from somewhere, either in their bank accounts, credit cards, or anywhere it can be. You just played your game and tried one more time, that's it.

No, you don't become a gambling addict because you make two deposits on an online gambling site in a day. That is a normal thing, but if you continue to gamble without thinking about anything else and do everything you can to gamble, then you can be called a gambling addict. All you do is spend more money on gambling than usual, and that is normal and experienced by almost all gamblers.

Don't worry, that's a normal thing in gambling, you'll be fine. If you regret losing $20 in one day, maybe you should take a break and start playing again next week. Usually the results can be better
Or you can simply say, that if the urge to play in gambling gets deeper, getting it to the stage of being uncontrollable, it's gambling addiction. If never reach this stage, consider it as normal gambling. Aside from that, no sign of chasing losses, even with the consecutive losses but still wanted to continue to gamble to get back his losses.

OP, losing twice on a gambling site in a day is normal, as long as you continue to control yourself and consider stopping even if your gambling activity ends with a loss. You may feel that this is the beginning of gambling addiction, but no.

In my opinion. I don't see any symptoms of a gambling addiction based on what you've narrated. It's just that, you really want to get back what you've lost in the game that's why you've placed a bet for the second time. one of the reason why you tried to gamble because out of boredom and that's normal, you don't have to think that you are addicted already as long as you did that for fun and to entertain yourself also you are aware on what you have done... Chasing losses so many times doesn't mean you're addicted but this is also one of the early sign of being obsess in gambling that's why you have to think twice and know your limitations in placing bets.

Not really no. Even when I was pseudo-addicted, I was fully aware of when I played and what happened with what I bet. It was rather helpful that I always set a specific amount for each session immediately before I even start, so that after said bets happen, if I ever do want to play again, I just plan it out and list it in a small notebook I had for expenses. Also, I reckon you're not really "asking" yourself "when", more like you're making fun of the situation after realizing what happened. I reckon that's a sign of not addiction since you realized it anyway. At least for now, that is.

If you think the game you are playing is just for fun, you shouldn't need to add another deposit so it looks like you want to recover the losses you experienced, if at the start you just want to have fun with just $10 you can look for casino games with smaller bets. So you can add a longer duration and it's impossible for you not to win a penny because every game has wins and losses, even though losses are still dominant.

Basically you have to understand that the dealer will always win against you, so don't think about winning when you want to have fun by gambling, just enjoy the game when the $10 is gone, just leave it and look for other activities to divert your mind or pressure to try to recover the loss. , it won't be good in the end, BTW regarding your question about whether you are addicted or not, it can't be called an addiction if you haven't felt bankrupt and poor because of consecutive losses and you continue to play.  Grin

Maybe you are becoming an addict, or maybe you just can't believe you lost that money and you feel like getting it back by trying over again, this feels like you are not ready to lose that money, like you've said, you don't normally take such risks when you gamble, so why now? You are chasing your losses.

Chasing losses doesn't mean you are addicted but it can also be a sign too, most times I believe that those who chase losses are those that are not ready to lose the money to gambling, all you need to do is gain control over yourself, if $10/is what you normally use to gamble everyday, once you lost all the money do not make another deposit.

Every $10 lost to gambling in every day is better than losing more in a single day, if that ten dollars is all you can afford to lose then stay on it, either you win or you lose, also you don't have to bet all the $10 at once, if you don't like the idea of just losing on one trial start using less amount, the more rounds you can go the higher your chance of winning something.

You only funded your account to have fun, but you went and enjoyed it with the hope that you could recover the money you had lost. That is how some people become addicted to gambling. However, since this is the first time you funded your account wisely in a day, if care is not taken you may repeat that another day. Knowing that you are only funding your account to have fun right away means that you will lose the first $10 that you deposit. You should just put it off until another day. You shouldn't be surprised that is gambling; you shouldn't allow it to overcome you because I can say that you usually lost, not that you've won a large amount of money before. Your goal should be to simply enjoy yourself and try your luck; you should also stop making twice deposits a day to avoid being addicted to it.

I can tell you that if at all possible, you should lower your deposit to $5 for your own safety. The majority of people who are addicted to gambling today started out that way. If they lose money, they might say "Let me deposit another one and try their luck." Before you know it, more than $50 has disappeared, and they will start to regret it. However, they will still play because the addiction has taken hold of them.

I guess that's how it actually gets started, but in your case, you were lucky enough to realise yourself before you could go any further, which is a good thing that you still have self-control to some point. But if, for some reason, you never realised what you were doing and you just kept on betting and playing until you ran out of cash, then you could not have been far away from becoming a mini-addict.

I can remember a day when I was just so bored at home and I wanted to try out some games. I went to my play store and downloaded the SportyBet app on my phone, logged in to my account, made a few deposits, and tried out some live match games, which I lost money in an instance. Before I made another deposit and tried out the dice games, luck for me, I was able to recover my first deposit and a little profit. I just quickly made a withdrawal of my main deposit and left the rest there, which I used in a while until I did not even know when I used the last balance to wager.

I don't think that you have reached the level of addiction, it's just that what you are doing is just chasing losses and that's normal, besides, you also immediately realized your mistake and stopped as soon as possible, meaning you still have self-control in playing. Because the level of addiction is when someone has difficulty controlling themselves, tends to be aggressive, and very emotional, and from my point of view you are not at that level.

You're not yet addicted, the keyword is yet. You're more like frustrated because you've lost your money without a fight and you didn't feel any fun at all when you've put in the bet, for you it's all downhill and so you wanted to try again because you want to remove that feeling of frustration in your first bet. Maybe if you've continue doing this consecutive times in a day for about a week, I would say that you're probably getting addicted.

So basically you forgot that you have funded your betting account for the second time? Do you have problems with your memory or something? Grin Maybe you are starting to "chase your loses", which is a bad sign. What do you play? Regular casino games or sports betting?
How do you fund your betting account? Via credit card or via crypto? Funding the account via crypto isn't that fast, because you have to login to your crypto wallet and send the transaction to the casino's crypto address. Do you have a Metamask wallet, which is linked to the gambling account? I don't use Metamask, but I can assume that it's way easier and faster to fund your account with a Metamask wallet.
I usually want to make it harder for me to fund my gambling account, so I don't end up chasing my loses and I can force myself to quit, when I'm in a losing streak.

Have you been in such situations before?

Yes, I have clear my mind about gambling in 2 weeks already. But 2 days ago, I don't know, I was in my bed and wanted to sleep suddenly I have this urge and itch to play. So I did deposit like $10 and play my favorite game which is roulette. It was just a couple of single spin bet on evolution gaming's Lightning Roulette.

Didn't even win but I was able to control myself not to deposit anymore as I know what's going to happen to me in the next hour or so. I know that I will feel again to the trap of gambling of depositing even more and betting higher denominations of money just to be able to recoup my initial bankroll. But it will be ugly on my end as I might end end losing big money. So once I lost that initial deposit of mind, I just quit and never look back and even I wanted to deposit, I say NO and control my emotions that night.

You were able to control the emotions and did not deposit more but there may be many other gamblers who would keep playing irrespective of the loses.

One reason which I feel that you are not addicted yet is that you have only played two weeks of gamblings so usually a person is a bit more careful in for the games if he had lost some of the games.

Moreover being a gambler first you should makeup plan how much money would you spend daily, weekly or monthly on gambling and stick to that plan. In this way your risk is predefined and there is no way you can lose more than what you are already have decided before.

You become an addict, when you cannot stop gambling and when you start depositing more money than what you can afford to lose. The $20 that you deposited, might be a small fraction of your total income.. so it does not matter, but for some people... $20 is 80% of their income, so then it becomes a big problem.

My advice, stick to your weekly or monthly "entertainment" budget and do not touch any other money that are needed to pay the bills or to sustain yourself. (Food & clothing etc...)  Wink
