Of what use might it be having a mobile interface@OP, for there to be a need for this modification, it implies there is a pressing disturbance that necessitates this modification but so far, I haven't seen any. I use mobile quite often and I'm not restricted to any feature or don't see a future that is unique to PC that is lacking on mobile except the restrictions that applies based on rank which goes for the two media.

The forum is pretty much stable for me, you zoom in and out if you have problem with viewing the font else, the mobile interface is very much stable me or perhaps it's just what I'm used to. Again, should the interface be too small for you, simply rotate (change your screen setting) to landscape while accessing the forum and you just might have a desired view.

I wouldn't say its stable but more like unoptimized, because if you were to visit other non-responsive sites, they would be rendered similarly to Bitcointalk's.

Imagine trying to amend/ trim a quote just to reply, it's hard. Since we can't resize the text field unlike on the desktop.

Since there's a pretty good user script that makes bitcointalk acceptable on mobile, I guess that there's no much need for more time spent in that direction.
We do hope (for years, I know...) that at some point we'll migrate onto new forum software.

Edit: or you can put ;wap at the end of the topic, but I don't like that option. Example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288702;wap

This mobile view version looks really boring. I prefer this present look of bitcointalk forum, able to zoom in and out of a page with easy scrolling through out the page.

Jesus--I just searched like 15 pages of my post history looking for the last post I made about this specific issue, and I could swear there was a thread about bitcointalk not having a mobile-friendly site within the last two months.  Dammit, I know there was!

If you use the search option with keywords in the Meta board and add your name, you will surely find that post as well. But there are dozens of such questions, here I remembered one of my posts where I listed a few other examples.

I hope that the administration will do something about this issue, because as we see the new generations, in addition to the content, also want an improved user experience.

I am a mobile user myself and been using Firefox, Chrome and Brave browser so far, all is well even I am still using an older version of mobile phone.
I used Firefox browser to access bitcointalk last week, it wasn't friendly at the interface, although the zooming in and out was absent but some letter were bigger than other making it stressful and annoying for me, I don't know if the fault would be from my phone or that's how it is?. I only use chrome browser and that's what I'm using currently and sometimes operamini, the forum had gone far with this version so I think there shouldn't be any other mobile view option.

C'mon bitcointalk! It's almost 2021! You must be the only website in this day and age without mobile view. And considering your popularity...! What are you waiting for Let's do this!
Yup, Cheesy I have also had this same thoughts, why haven’t the developers and the moderators that are in charge of this forum thought of it, why can’t they just create a mobile platform for the forum? I make use of this forum mostly on my mobile phone. My computer is mainly at home and even when I get home I hardly go to my computer except when I have work to do with it.

Once I get home I make use of my mobile phone to view this forum because it’s more convenient for me, but every time I open the forum I have to be zooming in and out and it’s quite annoying at times. They should do something better than this. I have tried using the .wap link and it’s just like white paper with text on it.

I already like how it is. The phone view and desktop view are same yet it's not complicated at all. I have to use my fingers a bit more but I love how I can view the entire forum just like in desktop mode smoothly and without any type of lagging. Hoping for a better mobile version in future but still the current one looks cool too Smiley

Farewell o_e_l_e_o
I knew the wap page for a while but forgot to include it in my thread Hidden pages / features on the forum. Yesterday I saw this topic and add the hidden page to my thread. What I found?

The wap page works perfect for non-table posts or threads. With posts or threads have tables especially complicated tables (with many rows, columns) the wap page does not work well. I found it when I left a link to wap-version of my thread as an example. It sucks.

The link is https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hidden-pages-features-on-the-forum-5243405;wap
Wap's drawbacks:
  • Broken with tables
  • Images are disabled

Personally, the web-version is the best and I still feel it is friendly for mobile. View-only mode: it is friendly. Type-mode: it is not but who will spend life to type on mobile for constructive posts. Wink

Everybody who complains about this does have a legitimate gripe IMO.  I'm not sure what in the hell Theymos is waiting for as far as making bitcointalk mobile-friendly.  I have absolute confidence in him that he has the know-how and ability to do it, and it seems like it's something he should have done back in 2014.

Since there's a pretty good user script that makes bitcointalk acceptable on mobile, I guess that there's no much need for more time spent in that direction.
I think there was a link to that thread last time I posted about this topic, and if it works, there you go.  You've got bitcointalk on the go.  That thread ought to be pinned somewhere, probably in the B&H section.  That might cut down on the number of threads complaining about how inconvenient it is to access BCT on a smartphone.

I think people discussed this before and someone recommended me to use opera browser. I kid you not its so much better to use/browse the forum from opera. Try it out.

I assume you want to contribute something when you said "Let's do this!" then better head to this board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0 and look for something you can start on. You can check here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/epochtalk-development-overview-current-version1350-2020-11-03-5206998 about the development of Epochtalk and if you have some suggestions feel free to drop it off.

There has been some numerous request already been made to make it a reality even on the early years of this forum but it remains conservative and classic restoring just the older version and I and some users don't find anything bad there. Epochtalk is the alternative but I doubt when will it really gonna be released but I believe they are working their ass off onto it.

you're talking to a moderator of this forum.  and in my opinion, we are comfortable with bitcointalk access from mobile.  for me.  bitcointalk is an excellent forum that can give you profit, knowledge about bitcoin and crypto, in the world of crypto trading or investing.  I would rather agree if bitcointalk in the future will be able to provide rewards for old users and loyal users.

Well, that could be nice if there is any of which bitcointalk.org can be view on mobile. I do believe that there are many mobile users here in the forum and I am one of them. It left me with sometimes difficulty while browsing in the forum. Using of mobile phone is more comfortable for me as it is handy wherever I go I can access the forum and can participate in the discussion through mobile. I guess OP you should move this thread to meta section so that it will going yo be visible by the admin

I am also mobile users but it doesn't matter for me how can I view the website on mobile and PC it's almost the same for me. so I don't think we need to request a mobile version of btt. Unless there are something that will change which is think not.

Just wait for the Epochtalk version of Bitcointalk, as it will be far more mobile friendly. Though I'm really not sure what year(or decade lol) it will actually be released..

I feel this to be more convenient and accessible than many other forums. There is no need of specific mobile view, the forum is available in a way accessible through desktop and mobile without any flaws. Our forum members have big expectation to make changes to the forum interface. I like the classic view it has got.

Having mobile view is more convenient because we don't need to zoom in the site in our browser just to select some sections in the forum. Some members of this forum doesn't have large mobile screen so it may be difficult for them to zoom in the site.

Thank you for this, I tried it but I don't like that, too. It is too much plain that I feel sleepy it somehow looks like I am reading an ebook instead of a forum. I still choose this current version, much better if we have a mobile version but that doesn't mean that we should make it as top priority.

Hey! thanks for suggesting the ;wap option but it is only meant for reading. It does not serve the purpose of this forum which is basically interacting here.

You still can access the forum on any mobile device like I am doing now. You only need to zoom a little bit and everything works fine.

So, in place of questioning when they will release a mobile compatible version why not use some common sense and use the zoom feature to view the forum on your mobile device।

The website works fine even without an integrated mobile friendly code. I do think that the website do need a newer version but I don't think that we will see something like this soon.

But redesigning the website can easily take 20-30 days and for complicated projects even Months. This would mean that processes might be temporarily halted. With millions of users and millions of companies working. It would not only create additional steps but would also mean we would have people against this too, most prefer this version. How can one make a informed decision while taking everyone in consideration ? Poll ? Then add 10 more days for the poll so that we can get a good percentage.

For now I believe that you should try and just adjust in the normal version we have now.

I accessing forums using Firefox browser, look mobile friendly. for more comfortable, rotate your phone into a landscape. It's safer than using a third party.

Let it be as classic as now.
A lot of people even doesnt want that new forum software that looks much more modern.
But yes it is your rights to feel that the mobile version is the one you prefered.
I prefer the current version is the perfect one, nothing  seems to have a signifcant changes.
