Once again I found a very suspicious airdrop. Participants are asked to send number of ethereum which will then get the amount 2x in 4-8 minutes.
Official group https://t.me/Civic_official

I was surprised when I saw this, did anyone join them here?
I remember not that long ago about someone sending $1 then receiving the double of it in here, the thread could've been buried already but I can't tell if it was legitimate.
But anyway, is this an airdrop or giveaway? I am seeing this more of a give away rather than airdrop because in airdrops, you just need to submit your info which I hated the most then they'll send it right away.
This one you mentioned in the OP is purely a scam.

4-8 Minutes? It's funny that many scams are even claiming "2x in 2 days ".

I can say that, this is the perfect airdrop for greedy people. I didn't bother to waste my time checking because right from what you said, sending a particular number of ETH and getting X2 (that's double) of it, is a scam move by fraudsters and only those who are greedy will fall for this. Airdrops don't ask for things like this, participants registers, do the tasks required of them and are paid accordingly, any airdrop asking for payment, personal details (like private keys) or even this type of airdrop is only but scam.

Hey mate! You don't need anyone to tell you that this is outright scam.  No legit airdrop will ask you for any withdrawal fees, except they can direct you to withdraw your tokens on bots such CCTiP and the likes.  Also, one should be careful of selfdrops, that is for example, pay 0.5 ETH to get 1ETH. Those are scammers related gimmicks.

Totally scam. All these "double, triple and other multiply in short time" scheme are just a covered Ponzi scheme.
Scam Accusation section is full of these kind. Don't get yourself fulled with them.
The accusation of fraud must also be checked on all of these types, because the truth on the accusation is also not necessarily entirely true, but we all must be careful of all kinds of "ponzi schemes" because their purpose is cheating.

These topics should be placed in specially created sections: "Scam Accusations" - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 Otherwise, it may be considered on the forum as a promotion of the Ponzi scheme. In addition, you posted a link to join this scam, and it is possible that someone has already clicked on it and lost their money. You better close this thread and delete the links to this scam.

Why do you think it's real? because it's Civic? Yeah Civic is a real project but the scammers are just using Civic name to run this scam Airdrop, listen to me, what ever or which ever project that ask for deposit before sending you token is scam, don't think twice about it

That's not something to be suspected of anymore you should go away from this scam attempt. Simply, you can judge the event is legit and scam. Just see how their way to give the reward, if they ask you to send money (in form of crypto or anything) first then it can't be trusted and I believe in 100% the event is scam. The legit project never ask you money to be a participant, but they will tell you to promote their project like in social media and etc and you will get the reward in it.

That's the same as the old airdrop that gives the participant about the responsibility to send their private key to be able to get the airdrop token. This is a scam and a trusted airdrop will be distributing your token to the wallet directly and it will never asked your money.

Please remove those instructions from the post, you are basically promoting it now!
Thank you and deleted
I included a link that only reminded friends not to participate in the link and to avoid it, not my intention to promote an airdrop scam Wink

It's a scam. If any project is asking you to send ETH/BTC to give you free tokens then you can easily consider it a scam.

Any offer that's too good to be true should also be considered a scam IMO.

Only greedy investors will fall for this trap, this is a pure 100% scam, how can you believe that you will get your coins doubled? Is the source the creator of ethereum? Even if he is ethereum is too valuable to be spreading around for free, don't be an idiot

I'm wondering how you don't know that this is scammers at work, you are a full member meaning you've been around for a while now, how thus that looks to you? Legit or scam? This is a stupid question, any one who is looking for means to double their coin deserves to get scam, that person is looking for the impossible, plain greediness

The forum has already established that if a giveaway is asking private keys or deposit so you can receive their giveaway or airdrop it is definitely a scam, and people should stop hoping that they are going to receive the promised airdrop or giveaway, airdrops of old are different from the airdrops of today, airdrops of today are created by scammers, airdrops of old are coming from the real developer.
True! It's just easy as this. NO ONE in this market will ever ask you for your private keys! That's why it called "private". Just the same as another person as you for your banking password so they can transfer money to you. It's totally a scam! Don't ever provide your private key for anyone else but only you. I don't usually join giveaway events so I can't give any experiences or advice. Though, generally, when they ask for your key, it's defenitely scam!

If they are referringto civic project then probably this is another scam. Usually big names like that does not support any kind of airdrop. If everyone just know how to ask then they will not fall for this. Its so easy to join on telegram group and ask some details if they launch an airdrop or not cause normally these bots are just set by scammers to spy on those addresses sent and will exploit it on you later on.
