this is FUD because of two things: the timing and the source.

generally speaking anything that comes out these days is a complete lie or at the very least an exaggeration of a half truth. you should never pay any attention to the negative news that comes out  during drops, they are FUD.
additionally the source is a shitty website called financemagnates.com, that should be enough indication that it is publishing click bait articles to get more traffic to make more money!

A Canadian regulator recently expressed hope that Google would ban advertising on encrypted money and ICO, like facebook. However, Roy and other regulators point out that people can easily find advertisements for various encrypted money-related companies when using Google search. I think they are just gossip now.

I've heard that the same sort of news is true, and it really does make sense for google to be cracking down on this sort of stuff. This is because at the moment, most of the ICO and crypto ads that are going around are scam ads, trying to get people to buy into some shitty ICO and these people think that they're going to get rich. Google doesn't want this to tarnishn their name, it'll just make them look bad and sites will stop using them if their users complain of being scammed due to the ad.

So yeah, not worth it for them to lose reputation over (scammy) crypto ads.

Also, crypto currency is big market for the platform like Google because Crypto currency projects invest heavily on the ads and thus google benefit a lot from that.

facebook has already banned advertising of ICO's
not because the tech behind blockchain is bad. but because SCAMMERS who just act like script kiddies copy/pasting coins for a pump and dump scam..

google would go the same route at some point, because trying to vet these pump/dump ico's is next to impossible to guarantee that an ICO is sustainable and not just a pump and dump. thus the risks are too high

facebook didnt want the liability of suggesting that their customers should invest in such scams and so knowing the legal ramifications that people can blame facebook for suggesting they should invest outweigh's their income from advertising such scams.

so i can see google going the same route as facebook, just to legally protect themselves from lawsuits

I wouldnt want to believe that. All i know is that google itself will lose a lot of money by doing so and i dont think they will like that.

I don't think a major leading technology company will ban any cryptocurrencies ads. They are truly well-understand what technologies mean because of that I believe there is a zero chance Google would ban cryptocurrency.

I dont think Google can be able to ban bitcoin.I think it is just a rumor because their are people who are against bitcoin the reason why they want it to eliminate but bitcoin is unstoppable and there will always be a way even if they will ban it.

do not immediately believe the news in the media. we must remain focused for what we are currently living, trading or investing in ico. I think it's an attempt to drop the crypto price and they want to take that chance and take huge profits.

I think they're just rumors as of now. Correct me if I'm wrong.

First Facebook, now Google. I don't blame Google though. Those ICO and cryptocurrency are just either trash, scams, or shit ICOs. Remember those Binance, MyEtherWallet, etc phishing ads? Yep. People keep on clicking on those phishing link ads so Google has to do something about it, and here it is.

I don't think so. I don't have to worry about that.
Because the profit from the ICO advertising to Google is amazing, if it is not restricted by very strict laws, then I think Google will not give up such a big profit.

I don't think any official news has been published regarding this one. Anyway did you read the article completely? The article itself gives us proof that the crypto ads have not been banned yet and neither they are thinking to do so. Just check the snapshot from the article writer and you will see the mail conversation with google says that they have not banned any ads and there is issue with platform for displaying the ads at all.

Also, crypto currency is big market for the platform like Google because Crypto currency projects invest heavily on the ads and thus google benefit a lot from that.
