Yes. Being addicted to something is imo doing that thing, no matter if it does or doesn't bring you something better in life. Like porn/drugs/smoking and many, many others, gambling most of the time makes you loose your money. This is why the casinos are here, to get our money.
yeah, gambling is really addictive to be honest and casinos with their house edge always make people lose their money unfortunately, i think that it is better to just avoid it

we know that most of the times we lost on gambling, but instead of stopping we keep on playing for the next day

after we lost, we got frustrated but we still back to play, is this called "gamble addiction"?

Well I don't  think that pretty explain it. But you can check if you are one of this:

  • obsessing over any type of gambling
  • gambling to feel better about life
  • failing to control your gambling
  • avoiding work or other commitments to gamble
  • neglecting bills and expenses and using the money for gambling
  • selling possessions to gamble
  • stealing money to gamble
  • lying about your gambling habit
  • feeling guilty after a gambling session
  • taking bigger and bigger risks while gambling

If the person are experiencing those traits then yes he has gambling addiction and he must consult a specialist.
The things that's on the list is really worst if you imagine, I had experienced avoiding work and other commitments and at the same time feeling guilty after a gambling session. But in this case I manage to control, I think that's acute addiction that I felt. But happy to say I manage to walk away wth this type of work by deciding that "It's done, accept it don't gamble again. There are people that gambled who lose more than you lose so better stay away than regretting and deciding that gambling will make your life better". I let this words sink into my mind for that night, what I just did is compare all the lost I made for people that lose more than what I lost and that's it. After a week, I'm happy doing a decent work and avoided gambling.

The hallmark of any addiction is that you keep doing the same thing in the face of negative consequences.   So if you're losing all your money, straining family relations, borrowing money, etc., then it's probably a gambling addiction.  And then you have to look at how you feel when you're not gambling.   If you're depressed and still thinking about it, then something's probably wrong.

It's maybe called a gambler, they don't care if lost or no but they still come back then gamble again. No matter how much they have lost because gambling.
yes and that is called addicted. they are doing having no self control. they have no limit for their gambling. they are too emotional people and they always thinking for winning and no compromise on losing therefore they do gambling again and again. and do not like to quit so for to lose their whole investment.
I have to agree with this, I believe this people that get addiction is way too emotional rather than being logical. Too emotional to think that they can easily recover what they lost in gambling, with having a mindset that "if I lose yesterday there's a chance I can win today."
Because you do not win in gambling if you are playing with more emotions. You need to be clever in gambling to be able to win because most of the losers are betting base on their emotions. They are the public but the public lose most of the time.

The bottom line is they always lose, most addicted gamblers does not want to stop while they are winning because of the belief that they have to push their luck so in the end they will end up crying, losing their effort, time and money.

we know that most of the times we lost on gambling, but instead of stopping we keep on playing for the next day

after we lost, we got frustrated but we still back to play, is this called "gamble addiction"?
When you lose, you keep playing because you still wanna play? I doubt it,you play because of MONEY .
You lost some, and you cant accept the loss so you want to recover.
You win some? no problem, you become greedy and you want win more,is that right? i guess so

Yeah you're right,

But only in the part where people or gambler comes back to regain their losses.

But on the other one where you said gamblers play because of money, I think you are wrong.

Not all people treat gambling as a way to earn money. Some treat it only as a way to get more fun in life through excitement and challenge where we can usually get when playing gambling.
Exactly I agree with this not all people will play gambling for just making money. There are some people can play it for fun also. These people are not addicted to gambling, and their just plays this for their time pass or any other reason. Those who play for money they will be addicted to this gambling very quickly.
But only the duration, they are taking to get addicted to gambling may differ for those who are aiming for money from those who are gambling for entertainment. I mean to say all our vulnerable to get addicted to gambling regardless of they are playing for fun or with the ambition of making millions from it.
You are right. When you are staying with gambling more than usual entertainment time periods, you will easily get addicted to it just because of your overstaying with the gambling. So, the purpose of gambling really does not have any role for your gambling addiction. Same way, long run with gambling will give you same effect similar to overstaying.

Yeah,

Staying more time in gambling will definitely cause an addiction in your side.

Even as what I had said on my previous post that some play for profit and some are for fun, still they are all vulnerable to addiction in the game.

But still, we do have the control of our overall action in the game and on how we can limit our selves in it to prevent addiction.

A person who are starting to think that he want to play a gambling games should have always made an exit door or way(not physically) for them to bail out easily if you think that you are getting addicted slowly to the game.
so as to that way of thinking you will prevent any adverse effects of addiction to gambling.

When you are into some serious activities still you are preferring to gamble, that must be a very serious symptoms of getting addicted to gambling as per your intentions, you prefer gambling even you are busy with some other activities.  We need to take it very seriously before it is going very dangerous addiction.
Yes, there are a lot of symptoms that will get you the signs of you are entering into gambling addictions. But most of the gamblers are failing to read those signs and facing the gambling problems by its addictions. Preventing gambling must be a better idea to avoid any gambling addictions.

He chose to gamble even if he had other activities. That is already addicted person, He must know how to stop himself before he lose everything.  Gambling is really dangerous if that person that is playing is  trap from their likes.

I think he already know that he is addicted but the problem is he dont know how to stop or control himself cause he just love to gamble too much until he cant function normally without gambling for a day.

I think this is exactly the thing. We can say it has to do something with the 'resentiment' in Ethics. We feel offended, because we lost, so we recall this sad feeling wanting a revenge but can actually never make it

Addictive to gambling is said when you have left gambling but after sometime you are back to playing the casinos game and cannot control yourself to hold back is said to be additive to gamble.

Agree, addiction in gambling is where they always use the game without seeing the situation he experienced while it. They are more worried about gambling than other activities. So addicted will not be stopped if their minds are still thinking about gambling and gambling always use

No. It is not a gambling addiction, in my opinion. You already know that you are going to lose in casino most of the time, but you still kept on going to the casino to lose more money to the house. It is your choice, not an addiction IMO.

well, If it's his choice to lose I think he can't control himself from betting so I guess its an addiction already, Because once you are aware that you are loosing a lot of money and you don't want to lose more i guess you will actually stop at the middle of the game but he can't stop himself so That is already an addiction, And it is my opinion.  Smiley

I have a different definition for addicts , I will say that addicts are those who play gambling more and more without caring for their family for their wealth and their time and energy, and he continuously lose all of them and still do not care and carry on there.
