So yeah i'm just wondering whether can you make serious money with trading or is it more than not just gambling?

It can be considered gambling sometimes when various situations take place:
Like when the value of a coin goes back down more than 1000% or even 10000% and you've bought in when it was sky high.

Are "pro traders" making millions, or are they barely getting by and need to sell their signals and such?

Only a few % of traders make some real money in trading due to their insider reach and many upcoming price targets already known to them (like spikes and crashes, yeah, they do know all this before it actually happens).
Others give signals - be it for Bitcoins or alts because when their luck starts favoring their signals (and mostly due to their subscribers actually buying in and pumping on their own without actually knowing why the value of that specific coin has grown so high), they ask for some handsome amount of Bitcoins to give you "PREMIUM" signals. I've found a very few groups who are actually worth it over Telegram.

Not in a bull market anymore so i'm looking at trading as a way to make money, but not sure whether it actually works. Note i'm not complete newbie, but i was never really trading.

When markets don't go bull side, it's time to look for futures where we can grow our money even if Bitcoin decreases in value. Try BitMex for that - it's called leveraged trading (like forex).

professionals or good traders can often make money.
Obviously it is a difficult job and without the right skills and knowledge it is very difficult to get a profit, indeed, it is easier to get losses.
Right, but the unfortunate part to that is that a lot of noobs always think otherwise and then they feel traders are making a lot of money and telling them to hold when they can make money from the fluctuations.

The reason why holding is always better for anyone is when they do not have any trading skills or knowledge like you have said, and that is one knowledge one will have to take his or her time to acquire those skills as much as possible before even going ahead, which obviously most people do not have the patience.

I believe that trading is worth it if you know how to deal with it. If you want to be successful at something, you should be ready first, not to mention that you should accept failure because you cannot just be born with skills and experiences. Trading requires both skills and experiences. Sometimes it goes swimmingly and sometimes it does not. That is why you should learn the basics, study the field, and then get to it.

I think trading is really risky specially when the market trend is like today. You can see the red percentage rolling over the chart which is not favorable for traders. But still you can dig out that potential when you are lucky enough in trading.

Trading will became risky if you came with no proper knowledge on how to trade carefully. And you cannot find out the gold opportunity of certain coins if you will just rely on luck since technical analysis is really needed to be brought by the people who want to trade and earn a thousand of $.

it is really worth if you have enough skills to handle it but if you are cluless or not familiar at all then come back later. This is not field of luck and ignorance. You will gain nothing, I will assure you.
There is a difference between trading and the betting, most of the people who are in trading business loss because they don’t know the difference between trading and the betting. In trading your skills should be more polished than your luck, because your luck will only matter once you have done the correct and timely transactions, whereas in the betting you just got to be lucky about timing and the game.

Have tried trading many times but never made any money with it. Even if I made a nice gain in some trade than I mostly lost it in the subsequent trades. Trading is a zero sum game.

There must be something wrong with your trading activity. Whether you do not know how to trade effectively or you do not even know what you do on trading (speculative trading without knowledge and research). Trading is basically a profitable activity if you know how to do it, so my advise is that you should learn more about it. If you continue doing the same as what you have done before, you will just wasting your time and money for nothing which is the worst thing on trading.

Yes! Its absolutely worth it but only if you know how to make money out of it. There are three types of people in the market I think. One are the bulls other are the bears and the third category is the pigs. If you are ready to become a bull or a beer then the market is great for you. You can earn imminent sums of money. But if you are a pig then get ready to be slaughtered in the market.

Trading is worth it if you are experienced and have big capital. Trading is not just about predict the charts, but also how you can control your emotions and be more patience. I spend an hour everyday on trading with small amount of my capital to enrich my experience and strenghten my patience.

For me trading really is worth it if you know how to play the game. You can’t just be good at it in just one day, that’s why some read and do a lot of research for them to get to know the market and the coins they are trading. And it is risky too, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies all the time. Especially when bitcoin is pulled down, most of the time the altcoins are pulled downward with it too.

It matters what you consider worth it and the risk tolerance you're ready to open yourself up to. If you're a trader that's spending 40 hours a week trading and is barely able to make a few hundred dollars, or you're losing money -- then, of course, it's not even close to worth it. But if you're able to spend less time (like drastically less) and make that money then so be it.

Time is money, and you could have another job with all of the time of a full time trader.
Any trader that is even spending up to that hours in a week, which is more like day trading as normal job and still not making a lot from trading will really need some flogging for even attempting to trade in the first place, because the only kind of person such a thing can happen to is someone who does not have any idea about trading and is busy doing position gambling. They will be better off going to casinos than playing with the charts and expecting luck to guide them.

Trading and Gambling are two different things. You cannot compare both. Trading involves making educated guesses by studying the market and the news surrounding it, while Gambling is nothing but pure luck.
If done correctly, you can make millions out of trading. But, if you just jump in without knowing anything about the market, you will end up losing more money than you will make.

Business is a very wonderful job. I really like them because I like to give people all my strength. I would like to contribute all my creative ideas to society and make a profit from it. But I work for clients and never for profit is my # 1 priority.
In the future, I will become the second "Warren Buffet" and I will earn $ 50k a month.

This is why I always quote that trading is a proper profession, it is not gambling where you can totally rely on your luck for everything. Trading demands proper planning, hard work and good knowledge of the market. You should master the past trends of your coins and the others with which you are dealing in order to understand the worth of coins. Plus always go with the type of trading that suits you.

There are a lot of traders in the market. But not all of them earn. Therefore, you will be told that you can not earn money here. And also they will say that you can earn money here. And each of these answers will be correct in its own way.

I think day trading have lots of risk if we have no knowledge about analysis, news, charts. The only ways to success in trading that we should wait for blood day and start buying with -20% to -40% price and sell when we got profit.
Different approaches they are. Some people prefer to day trade while some are likely to be interested in long term investments where you buy some coins at bloody days and then save them in wallets and would never see them for few years. Personally I like long term investment because it doesn’t involve much problems and calculations like stuff that day traders always have to do.
