I can't describe Uniswap as powerful because the exchange get to where it is today because of DeFi success, it's too early to start praising the exchange now and remember that once upon a time binance was no where to be found, it was bitfinex and others at the time and binance beat them all now, I hope uniswap will become better once DeFi hype fades away
I wouldn't have known there is anything like Uniswap if not for the Defi hypes, the OP asked a valid question as far as Uniswap revolves around only Defi coins and some selected Stabled coins. It remains the greatest exchange for Defi there is no counter observation to this fact.

There are lots of swapping platforms like uniswap and more is upcoming, No one can say uniswap is the most powerful for the DeFi, for now I can say it's just hyped. There are also other swapping like platforms, And I think a platforms position in the market is completely depends on how big hype they can create.
