Neither of these coins are scams. Both xspec and onion are legitimate projects but they have different levels or marketing and development. XSPEC is an old coin and is being developed very slowly with limited marketing. Onion is a new coin but with a bigger marketing budget and extremely fast developers. Arguably, xspec is ahead technically due to being on the market longer, but Onion will definitely overtake this year due to faster pace and better roadmap, and bigger exchanges on the way.

Onion already has Obfs4 and Meek, they added it recently. The devs are very active.
Ring Sig + Zero knowledge is coming soon with Deep Send feature.

The wallet addresses are now not anonymous because they are doing weekly airdrops.
My only concern is that dev team stayed anonymous, but it is fine as long as they keep up with their road map.

what make you think deep onion s a scam coin, the deep onion community is great and we have a very dedicated forum where users can receive bountys and airdrops yes but it don't make it a scam coin

I saw a lot of people shill about Xspec, sometimes it seemed even with copy&paste posts. They dont have a sig tho like the DeepOnion guys who now even need to make fake purchases at Exchanges to push the price up artificially.

Is Xspec the same? A bounty/spam campaign but they pay them even without having a sig? Possibly by the same guys as Deeponion?

Why do people do this? There is so many real privacy coins still low like Colx (based on Pivx), Zoin (based on Zerocoin), Linda of which some have very large, real communitys and 100s of devs in Github, coming exchange listings and dev updates-... why would people push scamcoins when they could make way more money in real projects, give back to the crypto communty,. and we all win ? Sharing the value instead of making just the owner of DeepOnion & co rich?

Sometimes you need to do your own research about the coin you are talking to,you are like degrading a project without any proof,i am an ICO investor that is why i read whitepapers most of the time,XSPEC is a very appealing project which doesnt have enough funds, but i guarantee your investment with this coin,DeeoOnion on the other hand is a trashy coin do not compare a decent project to a trash the people who advertise XSPEC doesnt have benefits because the ICO has already ended einstein!

It just makes no sense to buy Spectre now when there is 100s, 1000s of people who got millions of free coins for spamming bitcointalk all day.

Supply number says that hundreds of people couldn't have gotten millions of free coins.

XSPEC supporter here and just registered Smiley XSPEC is the only TOR integrated coin that can work in China. Isn't this huge?

Xspec isn't the only coin that does that.

just to clarify things i really do not think onion is a scam
yes they're airdrops have looked a bit shady but all in all i think
dev is just trying to do the right thing for their onion to succeed.

fe. instagram "influencers" also buy fake followers which doesnt mean that they dont have any
real influence on their followers whatsoever so just try to put yourselves in onion devs teams shoes
and think wouldnt you also try everything in your power to make your precious coin succeed?

just my opnion tho

It just makes no sense to buy Spectre now when there is 100s, 1000s of people who got millions of free coins for spamming bitcointalk all day. Then you can as well buy expensive eth or btc.

If you want x100 gains you must buy CHEAP not expensive, so something like 808 which might blow up

Xspec isnt a scam project it will give a total anonymity in our transactions deeponion had too much noise in the market but it doesnt mean its a good coin to invest in,xspec is much better investment in the long run.

Well their spamming gets even worse. Just for getting a few 100 coins they spam the bitcointalk forums all day.

I suggest buying 808 coin thats very low in market cap like xspectre was before the spammers. Could go x50.

This board is moving so fast.... any insights on xspec?
Spectrecoin (XSPEC) is probably the biggest threat to Deep Onion outside of government regulation. Coins are in the same range on the market, both with PoS with a stable yield (<10%), both anonymous coins, and with active development. I invested in Spectrecoin near current prices of about 40 cents. I'm of the opinion that at least one of the small coins with the closed lid will give Verge, Monero and Zcash a run for the money. I hope his deep bow! PS I see no reason why XSPEC can not switch to a range of 3 to 8 dollars for a market capitalization similar to Zencash or Verge.

On account Xspectr not agree, there is great technology. The growth of logical due to the fact start exchange all honestly.
ZOIN good project and its growth is almost 20 times confirms this. Many say that ZOIN can enter even in the top projects. A very good team.

Ok thanks everyone for explaining it, and dont get mad because in this market even bad PR is good PR, and now more people aware of Xspec and that its a good project with people who care, dev coming here to explain, that leaves a great impression, also the way it was explained. Even learning something new about Xspectre and its features. Like thats pretty cool people can even use it over tor in china.

Tyvm!

Can you provide us with a source for your claims regarding DeepCoin? I appreciate whatever info people have about cryptocurrencies, as long as they're legit. If you cannot back up your claims with legitimate sources, dont waste our time by having us read your comments.

This coin really showed good growth. I think it was Pump. But, many coins that went to the stock exchange started with this. While this coin is not traded on the stock exchanges of the first echelon.

Xspec is a good coin to invest in,the developers are working hard the only thing which make this a scam coin is the lack of exposure,it needs to go into spotlight which i hopefully will come sooner.

I can understand where you are coming from..seeing a LOT of posts about a certain coin generally raises suspicion to me as well. One has to understand that the Xspec team has little to no budget for marketing, so we as a community decided to show the outside world what benefits Xspec has and why we think Xspec is a good coin. I will not repeat the great features Xspec has, since many others have already have, but if you look to find a good coin in general and a privacy coin in particular, one cannot forget about Xspec.

Hey Smiley I don't come to bitcointalk very often but someone linked me to your post and I felt like replying.

XSPEC is very much a legitimate project. I'm the lead developer of it in fact. We're working hard on the technology, we have a really nice wallet already and in the future we have some innovations planned that no other project to our knowledge is working on (including staking of stealth coins).

Unlike many coins we don't have a budget for marketing, nor highly-paid developers. Just a passionate community, a few solid developers funded entirely by community donations, and some good ideas.

That passionate community sometimes tries to compensate for the lack of a marketing budget by trying to "spread the word" and unfortunately it sometimes comes across like shilling. I'm not a fan of that type of marketing personally, and it's not an official approach of the project or anything like that.

I hope you'll consider coming over to our slack (http://spectreproject.slack.com/ - invite link: http://slack.spectreproject.io/) and saying hello. We're a friendly bunch and you'll find us to be refreshingly transparent compared to much of the crypto world.

Nice statement. I will now come to your thread and try to learn more about your coin, Xspec. I hope your bitcointalk thread is active since I am not a fan of slack.
