This could very well be a white flag operation by the United states to bring a bad name to bitcoin.

With the amount of trolls on this forum as of late I am beginning to wonder if they are all disgruntled alt supporters or possibly some government shills mixed in. We can only speculate.

That could be a possibility too. You cannot underestimate the power of US banking institution

I'd like to see the forensics behind truely anonymous use of btc. Obviously, if a bad actor gets away with sending btc to ISIS and ISIS converts btc to fiat to buy more bombs or whatever, and it is done 100% untraceably, no one would ever know. But could a theoretical transaction be made, showing how it is done? From original donator to ISIS to cash to bloody swords. I keep hearing opposing claims; btc can be traced, no matter what, and btc can be fully anonymouse, when used properly.

Also, some where along the way, they have to both cash in and cash out. If they aren't, then they are the first ever entity to operate in a 100% btc only ecosystem.
That would make them kinda special in the btc world, wouldn't it.

Anyway, I don't believe they are using, probably not much. They have the same adoption barriers as the rest of us ON TOP of all the other obsticles they face (as they should!)

Well even if you assume they are government FUDS, then the only thing they promote is to dump the price. In no way does a price decrease mean that bitcoin will cease to exist.

Well, but the government might try to make it illegal, which could turn bad at a later point.

Some governments have already made bitcoin illegal and more may follow. I wouldn't want the US or other governments to make it illegal , but doing this would certainly be a better outcome than blacklisting coins  or placing a backdoor on bitcoin.

Lets hope they are smart enough to make the sensible decision and not to drive bitcoin completely in the black market.

We need to keep reminding people that most ISIS fundraising is still done with USD fiat and most terrorism is still funded with usd fiat.

ISIS and al-qaeda don't use bitcoin, they use couriers and cash, Western Union sometimes. they aren't technical enough to understand or use bitcoin

One of the most idiotic things I have read in a long time.

So, you can speak for every member of these groups and say that they are too dumb to use bitcoin?

While I don't support ISIS or their philosophy I think its fantastic that users are trusting the network enough to secure their privacy. You know Bitcoin is working as intended when governments cannot attack, prevent or shutdown money transferring on the Bitcoin network.

Well, but the government might try to make it illegal, which could turn bad at a later point.

Fckin' ISIS is entangled with bitcoin again?

Millions Worth of Bitcoins Might Be Utilized By ISIS http://bit.ly/1x0qDBU

Is there truth about this news? What is the impact of this on Bitcoin's price and the digital currency as a whole?

It is very possible that they are using bitcoins to fund their Jihad missions. And using the dark web in order to facilitate this implementation.
Bitcoin price may go down due to this but time and time again, bitcoin surely will bounce and get bullish.

We cannot stop that. Just like what happened to the Internet in the early days.
Bad guys will use it for bad purposes.
If they don't have bitcoin, they'll eventually find other tools.

Maybe we should convince them to use Darkcoin. More anonymous, and will keep the bitcoin clear.
Why won't they take paypal ? Tongue
