Perhaps his time would be better invested in understanding what has driven these suicide bombers to the point of such despair, Its quiet simple its the continued illegal occupation of their land with no real effort on the part of Israel to resolve the problem and neither will they while Israel continues to be funded by the US. Remove the support and Israel will have to negotiate This is how Apartheid in south Africa was overcome.
Is the Gaza strip still "illegally occupied" by Israel?
Yes - occupation doesn't only take the form you're alluding to.

No, even in war, you can't throw morals out the window. It seems to me that a more reasonable approach would be to end the brutal occupation the Palestinians have been subjected to for half a century now; that would greatly reduce the radicalization of the population (on both sides).
I didn't say you should throw morals out I just said that they are. War in itself is immoral. Also I sympathize 100% with the Palestinians in the current situation.

They are honestly just two little kids. Fighting over toy. In this case the toy is the country of Israel. Unfortunately Israel has the big bully on his side supplying him and helping him out. We have a lot of working out to do in this world we just have to be understanding and fair but we always want something bigger and better.

Israel is the worst of the worst and the US is their biggest ally. Israel has sunken to a comparable level as Nazi Germany imo. I don't understand everyone is crying about Russia so much when Israel is free to commit genocide.
I wouldn't go this far. The think tank just made a suggestion as to how to prevent bombings. They did not say that it would be good to actually do it.

Or, we can just all admit to ourselves that the Middle East has and will always be in the shape it's in and just leave it at that. On our right wing leaning talk shows here they always talk about, "well Israel has to live in such a secluded and unfriendly region" and I'm thinking yeah, no shit. What's new about that? Meanwhile, the US gives approximately $350 million to the Palestinians each year which undoubtedly helps them or Hamas purchase a certain amount of missiles that will be lobbed at Israel. On the flip side of this idiocy, we give Israel untold billions every year over and above the iron dome we gave them and it's like we keep propping this catch 22 and expect things to change. For starters, I say we cut off the foreign aid because certainly Israel is far better off economically then we are considering our massive debt that is probably the laughing stock of the world.

For starters, how does a think tank professor claim to know what has happened to those 3 kidnapped boys when no one else does?
