Thanks! I never meant to hurt anyone- just had to due diligence.
I do think that you did the right thing. From a new user's perspective, this makes sense if you haven't known MJ for very long. Users should prompt discussions when there's (to a less-involved user) suspicious activity involving a large trade.
I personally wouldn't have trusted AM right off the bat either: it seemed really odd.

We can move on from this situation but should still exercise caution with all trade activity outside of one's comfort zone.

Very fair, but give me a chance to reach out to reach out to others to make the OP feel comfortable about what’s going on before a public fiasco like this.  That’s all I’m getting at..... hopefully we all bury the hatchet when this is said and done.
Allow me to throw in my 2 Satoshis too.
Minerjones' reputation precedes him, but yours does not. It's the first time I even read about you. I do understand the instant red flags when a third person suddenly talks on behalf of someone else. But the details are different than the typical imposter case: anonymousminer didn't ask for a payment, funds were paid to the real escrow address, and I assume both parties in the trade know the address to confirm payment was made. And when in doubt, it's always possible to pause the trade until minerjones returns.
Scammers use so many excuses that it's easy to forget "real life emergency" can actually happen, and if you're in business long enough, it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Don't take it personally, the number of scammers is just too damn high, and it's very difficult to trust people online, let alone in cryptocurrencies.

Make that five.
You mean six, BitcoinPenny was five:
Five. I'll cover it too.

Consider the hatchet buried.  You were the bigger many by sending me an olive branch via PM, and I respect that.  I'm sure I overreacted anyway, plus all the members vouching for MJ says a lot.

Good stuff man!  ....and OP, I hope you feel better as well.  I’m sure I overreacted too.  I’m just protective of family..... it doesn’t make me a bad guy.  Wink

I could’ve been asked for proof or more assurances before the accusations started flying!  Who do you think reached out to these people to give you all assurances about MJ.  .....and your damn right I’m going to be salty when you question my character and that of one of the best people I know!  The cart was put before the horse here and you know it.
They don't know who you are, and neither do I--there's no "character" to be assaulted here, only the facts of what happened, and when someone disappears with funds after receiving them and then someone else shows up with a story about a personal crisis....like I said, those are red flags.  These people have the right to be skeptical about someone's reasoning, regardless of the person's reputation.  Reputation on bitcontalk is flimsy at best.  And you?  Let's be realistic.  You're not even a full member, even though you have some positive trust.

Nobody is/was looking to tag either you or minerjones permanently; it's pretty much standard procedure on bitcointalk to do so when there's a scam accusation opened.  It does not help matters when you fly off the handle at people when they have legitimate concerns.  As I've said before, we judge ourselves by our intentions.  We judge others by their actions.

How sad to see respected members of this forum actually believing that Minerjones would exit scam for $2,800. Shame on you.
Point taken, but only after a number of trusted members showed up to guarantee the deal.  I've become paranoid on bitcointalk and have seen stranger things happen.  My real problem is with anonymousminer showing up basically to mock the concerns of OP and the other person in the deal.  That's not cool IMO.  They're not long-time members of bitcointalk and probably don't really know minerjones.  Hell, I've never even interacted with him and had to check his feedback to recall that he really is a trusted members here.  I'll apologize for my doubts when he completes the deal, but not for being stern with anonymousminer.

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
My only hangup was that he was online but didn’t respond to us. It was just weird. I wouldn’t neg anyone but we were just worried. I hate that I did this.. but coming from my perspective I don’t know him.

You are new here and can see your anxiety over this ..but you have nothing to worry about MJ.

He is is as solid as they come. A person can be online and perhaps not check pm. Issues come and go in life...give him some time please.

This will be resolved not to worry. You have many of his friends here whom have trusted MJ with tens of thousands in btc with never an issue and are willing if need be to cover this amount, not that I see it needs
   to by the way.

So that this is nothing but a minor delay.

OP i can understand that you might be a little weary if youve never dealt with mj, but as everyone has reiterated here you have zero to worry about.  MJ will confirm all this in as short as time as he can.  And i would personally cover the amount for this transaction for him as well if he didnt come through.  MJ is one of the most honest people ive ever dealt with on this forum over the years.

OP: Sorry about your delay, but these things happens. You can't expect any escrow service to be a robot that is online 24/7 and although it could of been nice of Minerjones to let you know directly rather than through someone else, we have no idea what actually happened in his life that meant he had to take some time off. I can guarantee you 100% that he will be back when he said he will. I'll also vouch for the $2,800 although it really isn't necessary.

Hey fellas,

I have reached out to minerjones on another channel.  I am 99.9999% confident nothing to worry about.

1.  He is traveling, i know this for a fact

2.  He and anonymousminer know each other in real life for decades

3.  He has way more of my monies than the 2800 usd being discussed and i have no concern.

Stand by please.....

Fellas , please relax.

I can confirm what anonymousminer is saying, and I deal with minerjones on a regular basis.

He is not available atm but will be returning as soon as his personal issue is over.
This I know for a fact , and I’ve been around for a long time - My trust ratings speak for themselves.

If you are terribly concerned with the Btc not getting released to the seller right away , I would personally arrange for the BTC to be sent on minerjones behalf - even though I think this is totally ridiculous witch hunt or whatever.

Life happens and I’m sorry if anyone has to wait a few days to recieve funds.

We have all seen many scams and exit scams take place on this forum, and in general.

This is NOT one of those times.

If you have any specific concerns seller please reach out to me via PM and let’s stop all of this unnecessary bashing please.

I have also worked with anonymousminer on some deals as well and can vouch for his integrity and trying to assist an old friend.

Thanks!

Agreed and agreed. The funds are safe. I'd trust MJ with my BTC any day. He's a good man.

Make it four here.. I will cover too

Five. I'll cover it too.

Regards,
Chris

Just looking for peace
People are looking to jump at others. Anonymous often speak on minerjones behalf when he is away, just so to help people comfort that there money is safe. You guys need to relax

You all are wacked in the head and are over reacting to a degree that does not even register on a scale to 10.

Everyone chill, all will be fine, and for the OP who feels they are being scammed for 2800 usd - if minerjones goes sKamarooo not only will i be out a significant amount of monies (far more than 2800 usd) but i will refund your 2800 usd....

This all happened in less than 24 hours, you need to realize that sometimes one cannot respond to your Internet messages immediately because life happens....

I'll cover it as well, OP you have 2 guarantees. MJ is not walking over $2800. He has had over $280k of my physicals in his possession in the last 12 months. Please chill.

Make it three and same on physicals.
