Two weeks ago Roma managed to be in the top 4 but they failed to maintain that place and had to be dropped in 8th place in the standings. This was because they achieved two less than optimal results in the previous match, such as losing to Bologna and also drawing against Fiorentina. Roma's current position is very much in decline this week because they only have a 2 point advantage over Torino and they could go down again this week.
It's not easy for Roma because their next opponent is Napoli and even though Napoli have not been consistent so far, they will also try to steal 3 points at home to Roma and at the same time put them in the top 4 by overtaking Bologna. In this match, I'm not sure Roma will win and it might be a narrow victory for Napoli.
It is my opinion that Roma will find it extremely difficult to move up in the league table given that they lost the chance to drop to fourth place. Napoli, on the other hand, is currently in fifth place with Bologna leading the team by just one point. I believe Napoli will not want to let this happen, even though I am aware of their occasional struggles, but Roma's performance is not as strong as Napoli's, and their players especially Osimhen is in excellent form right now.
But I've been wondering: Is it because Lukaku and Dybala aren't playing for Roma anymore because I haven't seen their performance like it used to be? It's been like five games since I last saw Lukaku score goals, and he's Roma's star player. Did something happen to Lukaku and Dybala because their performance isn't as good as it used to be? Roma's performance is looking pretty bad because they were in position 4 before and are now in position 8, which is extremely poor.
Roma had some hard fixtures for the previous 2 games. Fiorentina and Bologna both are relatively strong teams right now. One of them are sitting on 4th position and another is sitting on 6th position. So basically Roma has 3 fixtures in a row with 3 good teams and they might drop points in these 3 points but that doesn't mean that they are a bad team.
But Roma also needs to gather some points in these matches as well to fight for the UCL spot or UEL spot. Napoli right now is not looking very good. They had massive defeat against Frosinone in Copa Italia Yesterday. If Roma can play their cards right, they can win the game.
As for Lukaku, he just scored in the match against Fiorentina. He also got red card in that match so he couldn't play against Bologna. Dybala is injured as well. So that means their key players are absent. But that doesn't mean Roma will be weak forever. As I have said, if they play their cards right, they can win that 3 points against Napoli.
