It seems they don’t really care about this match. Many teams prioritize European competitions and league matches ahead of the league cups or any local competitions they’re participating in. This happens in other leagues too, small teams often win more in this competitions and make it far. They get eliminated at some point by big teams that are focused on winning that cup if they’re not participating in other competitions and don’t see themselves as a contender for the league title. It was really a shock that Napoli was beating by four goals to none, but it is not as surprising as people think it is still.
Sometimes focusing on competitions and matches only in the European League will not provide good value because maybe you won't know that the small teams around you have several players who have great potential, so the big teams will likely comb out really quality players to get into their big teams. so that in this way small teams have the hope of getting into the big teams and may even be able to get players at low prices, but the quality of play on the field can be relied on so that in this way there is no discrimination against small teams.

Zirkzee will be a top player soon.

I don't think he will stay many years here in Italy.

Premier will eat him.

On this Saturday there is a really attracting game between Roma and Napoli. The game is in Rome so it can be seen as an advantage for Roma. However I wouldn't trust Roma much for this game honestly. Because I don't like their recent performances in the league. Probably Mourinho will choose a cautious game plan against Napoli.

This is the classic Mourinho in big games in the end.  Grin  Napoli are even better at scoring now as Osimhen is back. He will be their key player against Roma surely. I think both teams will score and Napoli will manage to win the game by a gap of one goal.

Could this be the reason why Walter Mazzari dropped his first team? Old rivals I guess, they know themselves better amd how they'll both shape. This is tough game to decide though.
If it was to be last season, I'll say Napoli to win immediately without checking out for who's fee and completely fit to play for the club. Jose Mourinho would be without his best goalscoring player who is the Belgium International who's still serving the three match ban from his reckless tackle weeks behind.

Why's nobody talking about the Triumph of Thiago Motta and his Bologna side tonight? Like they literally held the best attacking club in the Scudetto Competition. It was a massive development and win. Beating them during the penalties I don't really care about, but they held em? I want to go see the line up before I can say whatever I want confidently.

Napoli's recent performance has frustrated and disappointed me. A promising team struggling is hard to watch. I think management's mid-season coach move was a gamble that failed. Starting without a preseason to create the team or adjust to his style was always going to be difficult for Mazzarri. It seems management should be accountable. It's apparent that their important alteration is influencing the team's play.

However, Napoli's problems appear to go beyond the coaching change. The sale of their top defender without a strong successor proved disastrous. It seems they misjudged the difficulty of defending a title, which is often harder than winning it. Napoli's defense is weak, and while hitting the post three times is unfortunate, it shouldn't be an excuse.
Napoli as the league defending champions having a poor season is disheartening to witness. The mid-season coach move, bringing in Mazzarri, indeed posed a challenge, considering the lack of a preseason for him to shape the team and for the players to adjust to his style. In such cases, the management's decisions play a crucial role, and it's reasonable to question the effectiveness of the coaching change.

Selling the best defender without a strong successor is a valid concern. A solid defense is often the backbone of successful teams, and misjudging the importance of maintaining defensive stability can have significant consequences. Defending the title feels harder, because the high expectation and anticipation are already there. It requires careful planning and strategic squad management. It's clear that Napoli's problems extend beyond the coaching change, with defensive vulnerabilities highlighted by the sale of a key player. While hitting the post multiple times can be considered unfortunate, it's crucial not to use it as an excuse for defensive weaknesses. accountability lies with the management, and decisions made during the transfer window and mid-season can significantly impact a team's performance.

I'm sure that Napoli lost this game on purpose. They are not in the best position in the Serie A standings and they need to keep playing in the Champions League. The Italian Cup is not important for them and they will not waste strength on it. The main thing for them is to improve their position in Serie A and try their luck in the Champions League.
If Napoli is still trying to improve its position in the Serie A standings, of course Napoli must always consider winning and it would be very unreasonable if Napoli deliberately lost the Coppa Italia to a team lower than them. Apart from that, Napoli also cannot give an excuse if they deliberately lost just because they are still in the Champions League this season, because their fans will certainly be very disappointed if Napoli admits that they deliberately lost a certain match even though it was outside of the Champions League competition.
I don agree with @fzkto on the view that Napoli lost the game on purpose because I don't think they will loose matches on purpose in such manner because of the champions league that's still week ahead, they will have enough time to rest before the champions league, so they will definitely not have to lose their serie A game for UCL games in such manner.

For a team that is considered lower than Napoli in the serie A I don't think Napoli will in any way lose to them intentionally it was just a circumstances that's usual with football taking place, there have always been times where weak teams are able to win big teams and that doesn't mean the bigger team intentionally lost, this may happen due to some circumstances some may result from the players performance that day while some maybe they the team just had a bad day or some times technicalities or poor execution of strategy.

It doesn't make sense for Napoli to deliberately lose a competition they still might win, to me it's just an absurd assumption. Napoli have experienced a very significant drop in form this season after winning the Scudetto last season, so they need to take advantage of every competition to win it instead of letting other teams beat them easily.
Yes, this is a realistic thing. It will be very difficult for Napoli to reach the top of Serie A this season and defend the title they won last season. Not only is their condition quite poor, but the distance between points is far away and the strength of the opposing team is actually getting better this season. The competition is very tough this season. And what's more, at the moment, I'm sure Mazzarri's focus is on improving the performance of his squad and trying not to fall into an even worse position. Because after all, Mazzarri also has quite a tough challenge here. At least if Napoli can still enter the UCL again next season, this will be enough for now.

So far Napoli have only collected 27 points in 16 matches, of course from 8 wins and 3 draws. Napoli is in 5th position with a 1 point gap below Bologna, but because Napoli is a team that is still strong, I think they will still compete for the Champions League zone next season.

Inconsistency is one of the things that has been disturbing Napoli because sometimes they played very well on most of there matches but sometimes they play very poor so they are difficult to predict in times of wining because considering there last match against Frosinone nobody would have believed that the match will end the way it did because considering were Napoli is on the table it was certain that they were supposed to win Frosinone because Frosinone is on the 13 place of the table while Napoli was on the fifth place on the table but it was unfortunate that there performance was too poor that Frosinone had to win them, and however the wining has affected them on there position because if they had win the match they would automatically entered the Fourth position on the table.

If Napoli chooses to focus more on Serie A than the Coppa Italia, perhaps because they want to catch or maintain their position in the league standings, maybe this could be the reason, but if they lose 0-4 at home, we all need to do it. questioned the quality of Napoli's second tier team
Yes, even with a busy schedule, especially when the team is involved in many competitions such as the Champions League and domestic league, managers often have to make strategic decisions to prioritize which competitions are considered more important.
and we all know that big teams often use reserve players or second-string players when playing in domestic cup competitions such as the Coppa Italia, especially when facing opponents who are considered weaker. However, for other teams, the difference between the first and second tier teams is not that striking, so crushing defeats can be avoided, especially from weak teams in the league.
So whatever the reason, losing 0-4 at home is very embarrassing for a team as big as Napoli
Yes we know most teams chose to focus more on the League Title, safe spot and UCL and that’s one situation that Napoli has found herself, In a bid to get a UCL Spot they used a second team for their coppa Italia but unluckily were trashed 0-4, that's a very big mistake they've made and they paid dearly for it by being kicked out of the Coppa Italia

A big home lost for them and this is one that’s not needed at this point but I feel it should be a boost for them to get back in their feet quickly and safely, now they'll have to focus on two tournaments which is the UCL and the Serie A league, winning both tournaments would be a tough one for them, however finishing top four in the Serie A tournament is very necessary and that should be their aim currently, cause I doubt if  they'll be able to defend the Scudetto.

If Bologna managed to beat Roma last week , I'm sure they will find a way to at least score once against Inter and maybe with a bit of luck they can actually win the game. I also feel Inter not in a great mood lately and they were never a great team before winter break so this can be another factor that might make Bologna a joker team here + is the Italy Cup.

I think Walter gamble it to see if other players can do better just so that they don't have to depend on main squad that usually start to the match for Napoli bit they failed and when substitutions happened, it wasn't effective as he expected. Throughout the game, it was only Napoli that substituted in that match and even when they did, Frosinone 2 goals when Osimhen was in. Such a Ln embarrassment to Napoli because they couldn't use their chances to goals while Frosinone was able to give into every chance with goal.

Honestly, I didn't blame Walter, Napoli has not been stable in Seria A league, a team that went from top 1 last season is struggling to enter top 4 and not only that, the points they have gather this season is to low, imagine 14 points away from the top of the first place in the league table says a lot, they have lost more than 5 games to be where they are today, they need to do more if they want to come to Champions League next season.

Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, it was still quite disturbing to lose so badly even in a match that didn't really matter against a club that was weaker than them in every way, which was quite disappointing and a disgrace for a big club.

Indeed, for their reasons in this case it is quite understandable because the current situation they are still not very good in Serie A and prefer to look for better opportunities, namely the Champions League and Serie A rather than the Italian Cup but if this is deliberately losing with an embarrassing score like this I think something is not too wrong in the body of Napoli even though we know most of the players are young players who are given more opportunities to show their skills on the field.
I'm sure a lot of people have lost faith in Napoli this season, the way they were eliminated in the Coppa Italia cannot be accepted by common sense. How could the goal margin reach 4-0, that is very embarrassing and raises a lot of questions. Choosing to be eliminated in the Italian Cup is not a good idea, because who knows, that is the most realistic trophy that can be achieved this season.

Mazzarri is not a good successor in replacing Garcia, in fact I think Garcia quality is still better than him. This is what most people worry about, that changing coaches does not guarantee that everything will be better, Mazzarri proved this to be true by making Napoli lose one competition.

In Serie A, I think Napoli only has a chance to finish in the UCL zone, while talking about defending the Scudetto is over. I mean it is no longer possible to catch up on points from Inter, especially if Napoli management releases Osimhen in the January transfer window, that will be a setback for Napoli.

In week 17 it looks like Inter Milan will win again, because this week they will host Lecce who are in 12th position. Lecce is indeed very difficult to beat, but they have difficulty winning, they draw more often with 8 draws from the 16 matches they play, while they both feel 4 wins and losses.
I don't think Inter Milan will have significant difficulties although it could happen. But with what they have shown during this season, raises confidence in me that they will again be able to achieve maximum results, especially they will play at home.

Napoli is knockout from the Coppa Italia tonight, a huge loss no Napoli fan would pick interest to talk about. Everyone have their view about the match. When we all thought the new manager, Walter Mazzarri is able to handle new positions, then we the worst happens. How cam the coach and the players explain this defeats to the fans? It's clearly poor defend wall formed and conceding 4 goals was never the expectation from anyone watching or streaming the match. Napoli was spurned 4 nil by Frosinone at the Diego Maradona stadium. How come Parthenopeans conceded 4 goals straight in the second half against the visitors? It's embarrassing scores to handle by an elite Seria A club.
It was a humbling and an embarrassing result. I didn't expect Napoli to lose that game with such a score line. They couldn't even score a single goal. The fans will be disappointed with the manager. After the change of manager the fans were really hoping that their results will improve but now who are they going to blame for the bad season results they have been registering.

The Napoli fans will be disappointed, but the team will not go far in the champion league this season; in fact, given their strong opponents, they may even finish in the run-16. We also need to consider how Napoli has performed thus far; under their previous coach, the team's performance was subpar from the beginning, and now that they have a new one, I believe Napoli is going to perform well. Based on their recent performance, which has been consistent since last week, it appears that they can perform better in the serie A league, but it will be difficult for them to advance farther than they did in the champion league last season.

Even though Napoli is losing in the Copa Italian round of 16, and their opponents are simply teams that are not predicted to win, I don't think it is appropriate to label Napoli as weak or as such because there are plenty of teams that are inferior to them. I believe that the best thing Napoli can do right now is to trade in some of their players and acquire new ones.
