Lazio again suffered an expensive loss of points, this time in a home game against Lecce. Normally they should have won easily. But what is normal in the competition these days? Lecce even had a 1-2 lead until the last minute in stoppage time, so a stunt seemed to be in the making. Lazio still needs the points to be able to qualify directly for the CL. That is still possible, but they have dropped a lot of points lately. If Inter Milan win this weekend's game, they will go over Lazio. Another route for Lazio would be if Inter win the CL, so that an extra place becomes available in the competition.
For Lazio, the loss by two points was painful. After having this type of draw match at home against Leece, I'm not sure how they'll manage to stay at the top table.
Lazio wasn't expecting that Leece would prevent them from gaining the three points they required to surpass Juventus and take second place. However, a point is still preferable to none.
It was a dramatic match. Both the first and second halves of the match between Lazio and Leece. Lazio scored the game's first goal after 34 minutes of play, and Leece draw the score in the final first-half minute.
Leece was able to score first in the second half as well, giving them a 2-1 lead against Lazio, but Lazio responded with a goal in stoppage time to draw the game. Leece benefited from their pressure in the second round by equalizing.
