I can't claim that Napoli has a better chances of defeating AC Milan in their upcoming champions league matches in light of the current situation because I no longer perceive that confidence in Napoli. I notice that a lot of people are whining about how Victor Osimhen's absence caused Napoli to lose to AC Milan so readily. However, I wonder if Napoli as big team currently cannot still be successful without Victor Osihman.
I wouldn’t say AC Milan’s victory was borne out of luck alone. They had played really well and fully deserve the 4 goals they scored that ultimately gave them the victory. Simply put, Milan dominated the game and outperformed Napoli. I too didn’t anticipate an AC Milan win and definitely didn’t see Napoli conceding 4 goals.
Osimhen is but one player and football is a team effort. No matter how good and instrumental he may be while playing, there is only so much he could do on his own.
With the loss suffered by Napoli, they should restrategize in order to perform much better when they meet again in the champions league quarter finals.
