Thankfully Mourinho decided to make some changes in the second half which was a big help for the team. Of course it wasn't easy to make a comeback against Milan from a 2-0 disadvantage. But they tried to be more effective in attacking and got efficiency from it finally in the last minutes. Milan players must have been very frustrated after this point loss while three points were in their hands most of the time in the match. This is football of course and you must be ready for any outcome.
Still I hope Mourinho understood some important things from this match. I hope he prefers to start with a more offensive game plan against this kind of big teams from now on. Otherwise they will still continue to have problems on winning against such opponents.
Obviously it is a very disappointing result for all Milan players. They failed to secure the 3 points that they almost got, it was only about how to survive in the last 10 minutes before the game was over. Roma deserve to be grateful for the performance of their players who managed to take advantage of opportunities in the minutes before the end of the match, they were lucky and that was great.
Milan must fight not to lose in the next match, because currently 7 points from Napoli is a very large number to chase. I don't know if Milan are capable of it, but it looks like Napoli won't be easily expected to lose and drop points in matches against teams weaker than them. Because of this, Juventus, who had been inconsistent before, finally managed to take second place after Milan failed to maintain consistency after the World Cup break.
Napoli is a team that starts well in the league every year and can't make it to the end. A similar situation may occur. So, no matter how many points Napoli might be ahead, there is still chance for Milan to catch up. It is not impossible. With Sarri, Napoli were ahead by 4-5 points in the last weeks (if I'm not mistaken) and lost the championship to Juve. Likewise, they started well last year, but they could not make it to the end. Against Roma, Milan was clearly the better side, but Mourinho teams save at least 1 point with a great clamping psychology in the matches where they lack in terms of game quality. All the substitutions were stupid. Especially taking 3 stoppers against the opponent that you dominate, who never come upon you, who do not pose the slightest danger, meant come and take care of me. So, Napoli might lose points until the end but Milan also have to shape up to catch up with them.
