Inter Milan should have been able to bring full points at home to Monza, but several factors on the ground were the cause, one of which was an own goal by Dumfries. In fact, Dumfries became the mainstay of the Netherlands at the World Cup yesterday and he performed quite well at guarding the Dutch defense. However, when he returned to playing with Inter, his performance was again inversely proportional. Inter's failure to win was purely a result of his mistakes. Dumfries should have easily tackled the ball with a header, but was unlucky for him to misdirect the ball so it went into his own goal.
This draw is certainly very disappointing. Simone Inzaghi must immediately evaluate his squad and should have released several players who were interfering with Inter in achieving their targets. Inter's position is not completely secure in the top four so they have to work extra hard to secure that position.
I don't completely blame Denzel Dumfries for this draw against Monza, they have done what they should even if the result was not what was expected. Denzel Dumfries is a good defender, but mistakes like that are unexpected on any team. But sadly, he made a mistake in the closing stages as Monza actually managed to force Inter to a draw.
For the other matches, it looks like Lazio will have no trouble securing 3 points against Empoli and so far Lazio have a 2-0 lead over Empoli. Apart from that, I might think Napoli will drop another point today following their defeat to Inter in the previous match. Then from that, I expect Milan to win the match over Roma.
