Parma assumes that Seria A is easy, like the previous relegation where they were promoted, but despite winning their second league game against AC Milan, they have found it tough to beat any other opponents, and they are currently battling in 15th place with 6 points. Some clubs can play well at the start of the season, and as the season goes on, they decline. Parma is quite awful, they had only played seven games this season and were unable to endure the pressure of their opponents, even against Cagliari; I did not expect them to lose, yet they were humiliated at home.
Furthermore, I am confident that Parma will lose the next game against Como since we know that Como has made a strong comeback against many teams this season, we were surprised by how they came back against Atalanta; and defeating a team like Atalanta is not a simple task. I'll bet on Como to win the match, I don't consider them a failure because of their previous defeat to Napoli. The bookies offer Como @ 1.97 and Parma @ 3.81. I'll pick Como to win the match because they're playing at home and have more opportunities to win.
Bookies are right, Parma just doesn't have what it takes to be good and we are not seeing them get a great result at the moment. I believe we are going to see people having different results for the time being but eventually we are going to see them relegate this season if they keep playing like this.
On the other hand Como has the financial backing and can look to do better, they had one bad move which was getting Varane who ended up retiring and I respect his decision if he feels like he can't physical play anymore, and mentally he would get weaker too and hopeless, at least retirement means Como doesn't have to pay him. Rest of the transfers they did looks to be strong and they are getting good results.
I think betting on Como to win is the right way to go. I am sure Parma will eventually get back to Serie A again, but first they will need to drop, and financially figure out what's wrong and build a team they can sustain for a longer time. Because if you can't build a sustainable team, then you will need success and when success doesn't come then you have debt and you will build a team much lesser than your income, to pay the debt with the left over amount of money you make.
