As more and more players are exposed to this covid-19, I think the FIGC should consider returning to playing games behind closed doors. Given this can be a very wide spread. Moreover, vaccinations that have no effect on this new variant will certainly make the condition worse.

We can see current full list serie-a players get covid-19 here, https://football-italia.net/full-list-of-serie-a-players-currently-out-due-to-covid/

They reduced the number of people in stadiums and only with 3 doses of vaccines.

It will be 50% and the booster is required to be able to enter.

even if they do, the problem is that people manage to catch the virus and consequently it will reach the players, the right thing or maybe I should say that the best solution would be to play without anyone being on the field to watch until the pandemic situation in these countries to reduce the number of daily cases again. continue to allow people to watch games on the field Is a mistake

Juventus - Napoli game is on the way now. This is another superb game of the new week. I don't see any team being the clear favourite side. Neither Juventus nor Napoli are much stronger than the other. If we were able to see the Napoli at the beginning of the season, then they would be definitely the favourite here by far. But their recent performance is really poor. And Juventus are on the rise these days. But they are also having some problems on scoring goals from time to time. A draw seems to be fair for a game like this I think.

Just said this in another thread: look at Liverpool right now. Klopp said it is like a lottery every morning when the team wakes up waiting for their first test results. Now he himself is positive. Even in this coming week nobody knows how hard one of the teams might be hit by the virus and Italy is pretty strict about it.
I like this description of lottery, you never know who will be the next infected player and how many he contacted before testing positive... Many EPL teams were affected by the virus and there was many postponed games. In Serie A the situation isn't better but the decision of postponing games aren't taken easily letting teams criticise each others and blame health authorities for taking or not any decision.
I would say that this new variant called omicron is a bit different compared to others. Both UK and Italy have around 150k+ new cases every single day and that is a horrible situation obviously, every nation is getting a lot more people sick and it is sad to see people dying all the time because of it.

However, the death numbers are not as increasing as the new case numbers, normally let's say from one date to another if the new cases increased 2x, then death usually increased nearly as much, because if 1 out of 100 dies, then 10 out of 1000 dies and 100 out of 10k dies, that is how it goes, sure a few would move give or take, like 8-12 and not exactly 10, but you get the point. This time around death numbers didn't change as much as the new cases did, so it means that we are getting a bit more immune towards it and that is a great news, still better to be ready for anything but at least there is a slither of hope.

That's true but for professional athletes a Covid infection shouldn't be taken easy. You can see that at the example of Joshua Kimmich and the infiltrations in his lounge. Several doctors said that theses infiltrations could lead to serious heart problems so you don't want to start too early with professional sports and high performance again. From that perspective there is still a valid point to also be cautious with the fittest among us - the professional athletes.

The Milan v Roma match on the coming week will be really interesting I think. Maybe there is a gap of ten points between these two teams in the standings currently.
This is not only interesting match for fans and audience but also very important for two clubs. AC Milan need to win to keep their race with Inter Milan. AS Roma need to win to keep their hope for a position in top 4.

Milan and Roma are both very strong teams in the Italian league so far. Milan are now second in the league whereas Roma is in 6th place.

Even though there is a difference of 10 points between them.
Roma are far from AC Milan and player quality of AC Milan is better in general. Roma have good squad but they don't have good players on bench for substitutions in case of injuries from main squad players or when Mourinho need to change tactics to find goals. This lack of good choices from bench has been proven in many matches of this season.

Yes and if you add the virus on top of other injuries, this clearly is a lottery. There were games in the past where one team played at full capacity whereas the other, equal team suffered from six or so important injured players. That was lottery already in certain situations, but now it is crazy. Just take this weird game in Portugal (?, not sure) as an example where one team had to play with a total of 9 players and two goalkeepers on the pitch without players on the bench of course. I know that can't happen as far as I know, but if there is no space to reschedule the game, we have seen what's going to happen (Tottenham in the Europa League...).

But I personally think that Milan will be able to win this match as Roma have only two matches out of their last five matches. But one thing I can say for sure is that we are up for a great match.

It said Chiellini trained today. So of course, there will probably be more of Juventus' main players who may be put into quarantine, but if that is a large number of people exposed then the match may be postponed. But hopefully that doesn't happen, considering they are athletes who certainly have better and stronger immunity.

Taking into account the fact that the fans have been waiting for this match literally since last year (  Grin ), its postponement will be a very unpleasant event. Moreover, it is difficult for me to assess in whose favor this postponement is going - Napoli seems to be still in crisis, Juventus is on slight rise but is far from optimal shape. I hope there will be no postponement and the match will take place according to the schedule.

Wow, this is bad news for Juventus especially before such an important match. If one of the players of the main squad goes to quarantine, then the plans for the game could collapse. There are 3 days left before the match, and if the players do tests every day, then the news of a new isolation may appear at any time. If I remember correctly, Juventus' odds have not changed yet - the bookmakers are offering 1.9 for its victory.

The player's endurance may be strong. they could even be infected with Covid without symptoms. and it is very likely to happen to people who have a good immune system.
but when all are tested and have been infected, there is a possibility that more will go into quarantine. and that could result in some games being postponed if most of them are affected by Covid.
we still hope that doesn't happen. only a few have been indicated to have contracted Covid. and hopefully, the others don't.

Chiellini is already a first-team player for them and it is very saddening that he has got the COVID. And as he has trained with other players.

There is a possibility that more players could get affected by the COVID. The images in three days and, that more players don't get affected by COVID, as it will severely hamper their training sessions and the game itself. Let's hope the best for them and hope they win this match.

Napoli's recent performance has been not upto the performance and lost 3 matches out of last 5 matches. But Juventus has shown constant performance  in the last 5 matches. Has own 4 matches and drawn a match. Besides few best players being out of Juventus due to Covid 19 positive, I am sure the other players will certainly keep up their regular best performance. Yes Napoli is one of the best team but the recent performance Juventus would challenge Napoli.

Abraham's sharpness for goal and Smalling's defense are just perfect. Smalling is always for coming up with those back post runs from free kicks. I still don't know how Smalling isn't getting in the England squad. I am also impressed with the figure of the goalkeeper was also very great in their match. I am hoping to see more of Jose tactics  and very clinical finishing in their match against Milan.

After this holiday break, I am sure that at least a couple of unexpected results on this tour will definitely happen. For some reason, first of all, I think about Inter, Bologna in a home match is quite capable of taking points from Inter, and with some luck, even win. Plus, purely statistically, Inter is going too well, it's time for them to suffer a second defeat  Smiley

inter has a great particularity:

they have good defense and can score a lot of goals

while the Bologna suffers many goals, this comparison alone can already be seen who will win this game.

as for the other games, maybe the surprise could come from the match between napoli and juventus

A good statistics or streak does not mean that it will last forever, if it were so we would have seen a streak of 200 wins in a row  Wink Inter's luck is not infinite (as well as strength), so in the coming matches I expect them to lose points.
As for Juventus - Napoli, what result can be surprising here? In my opinion, any will be normal, maybe only the score can be surprising if it is 6-0 or 0-6 for example.

Inter will normally just win this match. However, it is again a game after a winter break, then we always have to wait and see how players start the game. If the players from both teams are in normal shape then Inter wins, I'm guessing 3-1. They also have to win, they can't give up that first place in the competition against this opponent.

We've heard surprising results before.  Inter could easily beat Bologna if they can start with full training after the holidays.  It's not hard to guess how well they played as they had 14 wins out of 19 games. The only thing that worries me is that they didn't play fully prepared after this holiday period.

By the way, I don't know if the ban on players who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus will affect Inter, but if there are players who are not vaccinated, they will need to be vaccinated as soon as possible.  Because Vaccination became mandatory in Serie A.
