The real test for Roma will be in Europe where they will look again to go further in the European competition they are playing trying to repeat the success that they had with Mourinho and honestly I did not understand the firing of this coach when he was the most successful of coaches for Roma since the times of Capello who won the title of Serie A with them, not the best move I would say and they will feel the impact in the long run unfortunately for them.
De Rossi can help Roma to get points from Serie A matches and if luckily enough, can help them finish this season in top four. In Europa League, with cup format, direct knock-out matches, De Rossi will have more challenge and I believe he will fail. In the last season, we saw Roma with experienced Mourinho won over Leverkusen with young and less experienced coach Xabi Alonso. Experience is most important in knock out matches like in toughest tournaments, Champions League and Europa League.
It is clear that in terms of strength, AS Roma are really the favorites to win this match because their quality is far below AS Roma, but a change of coach can usually affect a team because they have to adapt to the new coach's style. The next three matches will be much more difficult where De Rossi will face Salernitana, Cagliari and Inter Milan and I want to see how De Rossi can face Simone Inzaghi's tactics because currently they still look very strong in Serie A.
De Rossi had a good start with Roma but there is still many doubt about his management ability. Before Inter Milan, Roma will meet Salernitana and Cagliari, that will be two other big tests for Roma and their young coach. I will be surprised a lot if Roma get maximum points from next two matches. Inter Milan are very strong in this season and they are like dominating Serie A so facing them after a head coach position was changed, is not good for Roma. Even with Mourinho, Roma will struggle to gain points from Inter Milan.
