I think this was a real success last year.  Smiley

Anyone knows if something like this is planned for this year?
I don't know.
Website seems to not be online ATM.

I believe JonHolmquist was the driving force behind this last year. He would be the first person I would try to contact (which I may do if I can find the time to sit down in front of my computer for more than ten minutes in a row).

Thx. PM'd him.

I sent an e-mail to what's listed in his profile.

Any word yet on a date?

He said they will start the landing page in a couple of days. This was a couple of days ago.

Don't know if there is a date.

Ended up getting a pair of socks, some silver, and some casascius coins.  I really enjoyed it, now there's just a few outstanding questions I have:

1) how much of a swing did merchants see on Friday compared to regular volume?
2) Assuming merchants are planning on converting BTC to fiat, will that cause any swings on exchanges, or will it remain flat because of equal number of customers buying BTC to replenish what was spent?
I tied https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-friday-the-fallout-merchants-how-did-we-do-123624 phishing around for this info, with little succes sofar. On my part I propably wont convert to fiat anytime soon.

Was a great idea to have Bitcoin-Friday. Wait for next year when selling 1 Bitcoin for $100 then it will be fun to go shopping. Smiley

Agreed, I am very impressed with how it has gone so far (It's not over yet, a few hours to go!). If anything it is definitely spreading awareness of how much you can actually buy with bitcoins. The bitcoin marketplace is growing daily in my opinion. It's fantastic!

BitcoinCoffee.com is sold out of all coffee this week (it's on its way!), so to make up for it, not only can you PRE-ORDER your first dibs on freshly roasted, PREMIUM Celebes Sulawesi Kalossi coffee beans.

ALSO: Use code "BTCFRI" for 20% off all orders ALL THE WAY UNTIL 11/17/2012

Why? We wanted to make sure that everyone gets the 'Bitcoin Friday' discount since we are low on inventory.

Oolong Ginseng Tea also available on bitcoincoffee.com

You can't be a real Bitcoiner without a pair of genuine Alpaca socks. That's what I said to myself when I ordered them today (they are 20% off). Luckily, I won yet another pair for free (each 4th order gets this!). Wow. Seems I should switch to solo mine till the luck sticks to me.  Wink

Great deal but shame I don't know anyone who really needs these for the winter. I'd get some for myself but even the XL almost certainly won't fit me: my foot fills a size 16 running shoe completely bare. Smiley
